They came out, looked at the unit and did a thorough diagnosis and walked me through what they thought the problem was. After replacing a part, the issue was resolved. I still may have to have my unit replaced, but not at least this season. And, when I look to have it done, I'll call Besco for an opinion as I know they will walk me through the issues.
Fine. No surprises.
The installation was flawless. It was done in one day by two technicians, John (Murphy) and Cesar.
Although I'm not a HVAC guy, I'm an engineer and know good work when I see it. Both of the guys were extremely professional and explained things as they went along. Any questions I had were answered. Also, Joe stopped by to make sure things were going well. I was extremely impressed. Also, Joe called a week or two later just so he could stop by and make sure everything was working correctly.
O.K. There was a little problem. The thermostat consistently showed the inside temperature to be a about 4 degrees higher than it was. It didn't really bother me that much, but on a Saturday morning I decided to put in a call to Besco. The person I spoke to may have been the owner. I explained to him the problem, and he said not to worry. He told me that "You paid good money and we'll take care of it" - or something like that. He said that if the thermostat was defective, they would replace it - they had them in stock. He said he would let Joe know about the problem. About 15 minutes later I get a call from Joe. He said he'd be happy to come out and that it may just be a calibration problem. I found the calibration setting. Followed his advice and now the thing is perfectly accurate. I emailed him and let him know that all was well.
Talk about customer service. These people really care about their customers. A call on a Saturday morning and everything is resolved is less than an hour? That amazed me. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

Our electric (in kWh used) dropped 47% from the first month the new AC was installed compared to the previous year. Pretty cool. I'm glad I spent the money on the super high efficiency stuff. Utility prices our just going to keep going up over the long haul....
Overall seems to be competent and would use them again.
