They did a great job. They do quality work. They did a fast installation of the window. They also cleaned up very well after themselves.

They did well and I was satisfied with their work. I would recommend them to other people and will use them again in the future.

Price would have been worth it if more care had been taken in construction.  Roof always leaked, worse after 2nd year than first, company came out several times, sometimes after repeated requests, but leaking was never resolved by them.  Every time it rained or snow melted, had to remove rugs and put down 5-7 containers to catch water.  Had a new roof put on the whole house last summer, and paid them to put new roof on sunroom.  Finally have no leaks.  Ranted about this enough while it did, now just want to try to enjoy what we do have, but still knowing it should have been better.

Summer 2015 Update:  Even with rubber roof installed in 2011, we still have occasional leaks when it rains hard enough or we have large enough snow melt that leaves standing water on sunroof roof which reminds us that this is a headache that will never completely go away and requires constant monitoring.  Will never be comfortable enough to leave any furniture or floor coverings in sunroom that can't withstand a soaking.  Not at all what we envisioned when we contracted for sunroom to be built.

Our overall experience with Cramer went great from start to finish.

I first contacted Cramer for estimates at their open house and set a time and date to meet their representative.
After he took preliminary measurements, we discussed the different window types and different siding and insulation combinations.
He was very helpfull in explaining the different types of windows, regarding style, color and energy efficiency.
We agreed on what needed to be done, and after more detailed measurements of the house, we met again to talk about the price and timetable.
The prices were we inline with other estimates, and their reputation sealed the deal.
We were not disapointed.
They were very good at working wthin our timetable, as we work different hours than most.
The window crew came first and did an exellent job of working quickly in the cold inclement weather of December.
The same can be said of the siding crew.
They left after doing an exellent job, and didn't leave a scrap of material anywhere in the yard.
The gutters followed about a week later, and I was amazed a how quickly it went.
All of the workers that I had a chance to talk to were very polite and eager to answer all my questions.
They also were proud of their work and seemed happy to work for Cramer, and that means a lot.
I would recommend them to everyone.

They seemed like they were pretty good. They were little bit on the high side but what we got was better than normal too. Our realtor had recommended them. We paid a little bit more but we got a bigger type of the discount on the taxes. We had a higher estimate on these windows than the other places that we had contacted. So we paid a little bit more upfront but we also got savings down the road. We signed up with them for the windows sometime between May and June and we had to wait because there were some other things happened so I didn't get them in till around August. Some of the windows they put in were pretty big. They did a really good job. They were very careful putting everything in. They did a good work with the install. They have done this for a while so they had all the tools and all of the equipment that was needed. They sent out a whole crew here; there were four of them. So, one person would be doing one thing and the other person would be doing something else. They didn't stop and worked solid for five hours. They had to install fifteen types of windows and they finished it within five hours. It was amazing. They knew exactly what to do and how to do it and they did it very well. They cleaned up everything after they left. They made sure that everything was cocked. They had a blower to make sure that there wasn't any air coming through. They cocked both the inside and the outside of the windows. I was very happy with the way they put them in. I would recommend them as far the quality in the workmanship goes. I would have liked to get the windows a little bit cheaper. However, I understand that I got a better discount because I paid taxes. The government gives you back if you pay the taxes. This was almost $1500 and the highest bid that I got from anybody was $770. So there was a difference. These people showed us exactly what we were getting. They showed us the thickness and their claim was that it was the biggest double pane windows one can buy. Our heating bill and the air conditioning bill went down a lot after the new windows were put in. They did take a while to deliver the windows. I had to call them up a couple of times. I understand that there were a lot of windows but two and a half months was a bit long.

The representative did a good presentation, answered all questions and followed up. After the job, the average prices for the product are high in my opinion. I did 3 comparisons; Cramer was competitive. Product is functioning as asserted.

Out main concern is that we were not diligent enough in the cost factor nor in the method they used for financing. They went with a third-party financial company and told us that there was no interest. Now, while we technically are seeing interest on our payments, we KNOW that somebody paid interest up front - the loan company is not in this for their health. So, we naturally presume that the interest was built into the final figure. That precluded us saving any interest payment by paying this off early. That and the fact they seem to be the highest priced siding in town is why we went with the lower rating on cost.

Cramer Siding and Window deserves an A overall. I think I got a good value, but I did not compare prices. I just trusted their price was a good deal. Everything they did deserve an A and I will use them again in the future.

Worst customer service and they DO NOT respect women. I called Cramer Siding and Window Co for an estimate on getting new soffits. I knew that I wanted white, aluminum soffits. Pretty simple. While a number of other companies listened to what I wanted and then measured my house and mailed or delivered the estimate, Cramer refused to give me an estimate unless my husband was home. I asked why I needed my husband to be there. They said that HE needed to be there to make the decision. There really wasn't a decision to be made. I explained exactly what I wanted, white aluminum soffits, just give me a price please. Didn't happen. I understand that if were were signing a contract for services to be performed, okay, he should be there. However, I feel it's unnecessary for him to be home for an ESTIMATE when all they really need to do is measure the house and then price it for the aluminum soffit. Most estimates that I received were from companies that came and measured without me being home. While relaying this story to a friend of mine, she said she had a very similar situation. She asked for an estimate on windows. A Cramer employee with a trainee shadowing him came to her house. She explained what she wanted and the Cramer employee asked for her husband to come outside and speak to them because, "You're not qualified to make that decision." Those were his EXACT words. Those two instances are upsetting and frustrating. I'm not some angry feminist, but I feel very disrespected by Cramer Siding and Window.

Problems with slope and seams in roof have resulted in leaking from the time it was installed. Several unsuccessfull attempts have been made to stop leaks, and although there is always some small degree of initial relief, it has never totally stopped leaking when there is water on top from rain or snow. Company has always been slow to respond and follow up. After recent snow melt, we had eight large containers collecting water dripping from sunroom ceiling. Will never be able to cover floor or furnish as we initially planned until we pay someone else to repair roof.

2/9/2012 We had a new roof put on the whole house last year, and had a new roof put on the sunroom, which no longer leaks, thanks to our roofing company, and the added expense we paid to have it done.

The work went very smoothly, but they left the shingles outside and we had a really bad rainstorm. Everything went blown all over. They cleaned everything well. In fact during the rainstorm, the rain had damaged the ceiling in our kitchen and they replaced the whole ceiling in our kitchen. The shingles had been off the roof and it was an unexpected rainstorm. They went above board. They did a really good job. They did really well. We shopped around for prices and we got the best price along with quality from them. They did a super-duper installation for us. I didn’t find a nail on my yard after they did the roof. They did a really fine job with the cleanup even though I have 3 dogs. They came when they said they were going to come. They took care of everything that they needed to take care of. They took care of the ceiling in my kitchen. They were great. They weren’t late even once. They stayed late to finish up on the days it was nice out. They were not in uniforms, but there was no swearing. I didn’t have any mess to pick up and there were no lunch wrappers or soda cans. They were very professional. They do porches and stuff like that too. If need be, then I would use their services again.

Once they get their money, forget about any followups on warranty, repair or punch lists. We gave them a punch list when we signed (a few things were done) and figured that whatever they don't fix on the initial punch list, they can fix them on the one-year walk-through. Well, a year came and went, and they did nothing. The father (who runs the paint dept.) did the walk through and was like a complete space cadet. He said he would get a repaint done, but never did. They also use the cheapest things they can find. If you look at the paint, it marks.... there were nail pops everywhere and leaks everywhere, hard wood floors type sucks, doors don't fit properly, windows are missing screens.... lights don't work!!! Run, and don't look back if you see Cramer building your home.

It is illegal to sell door-to-door in Champaign, but Cramer representatives persist in doing so. When informed of the law, they have been rude and quite unprofessional, and keep coming back.

He tried to pick out the most expensive windows. He tried to say they were expensive because they were a larger size. I've talked to other people who thought differently. He quoted me at about $500. He was here an hour or two. I wasn't impressed with his presentation. When we said it was too expensive, he pretty much packed up and left. He never followed up.

One of the reasons I chose this company was due to their reputation, the number of years they have been in business, and the full services they offer. I had been cautioned that there would be no telling how bad the damage or what might have to be replaced until the old windows were torn out, as there had been moisture problems over the years. I wanted to be sure that whatever was revealed could be handled by the company I hired to do the work, and they assured me they could do that. I was extremely happy with the work, which was done on time and completed in a few hours. The workmanship was excellent. It turned out there were no special problems with the surrounding walls, so that was a relief. Now that the windows have been in for one winter and one summer, I am absolutely thrilled with them. They are beautifully insulated against heat and cold, are easy to clean and are solidly constructed. I might have been able to have gotten the job done cheaper by another company, but for me it was worth the extra expense for the quality if these windows and warranty. When I replace my remaining windows, which are a little newer and in less critical condition, I will definitely call Cramer.
