I'm shocked by all of these 5 star reviews, but then again, I shouldn't be considering they ask for a 5 star review BEFORE they do any work during the estimate phase. They dug up our rose bushes and just left them there to die. They left their clothes in our basement and didn't even bother to clean up after themselves. They also left one of their tripods on our backyard. Not to mention, my husband found 2 cracks from their work order that they didn't even attempt to seal. Oh, and the plates they put on the wall are all crooked. Fast forward 2 weeks and one of the plates is leaking. This is abysmal and I recommend you STAY CLEAR. All photos are of "finished" work.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! Helitech built a 20' wall/foundation with a 1" inward bow in the wall. Temporary support structure that was to be put in place to support our home during demolition and construction were never used. Suppots structures of a temporary nature put in by the homeowner were used without any engineering certification. Support structures that were put into place as part of the contract. Were impropery engineered. Some were left not even touching the floor joist at all. Some supports only carried a portion of the area that were meant to be supported. Leveling of the floors as per the contract was never attempted. Electrical work was preformed by unskilled workers. An electrical junction box for a generator tie into the home. Was removed from the work area and never replaced. Request to address the concerns in detail were never satisfied. The foundation built out of tolerance. When asked to be reconstructed were ignored. Denial of patching the out of spec foundation have been denied by the consumer. We did not pay for a patch job. All questions pertaining to the concerns of how that work was done so poorly have been ignored. Supervision of the crew working on the project was not done. Compensation for work not preformed was denied. Trust between the consumer and Helitech as well as contractual agreements have been broken by Helitech.

Went through the sales pitch at my home on April 30. Was told they would contact me within a week to finalize the estimate. Nothing. When I finally called them after three weeks, a very patronizing person refused to explain why no effort had been made to contact me or follow up in any way. (she tried to say they had no email on file…which I know I gave them, and also…you couldn’t call me?). This is how they treat you BEFORE they have a signed contract and your money. Caveat Emptor.

It has taken me almost 2-years to write this review, so I hope they have improved. My experience was awful. It had been a very rainy May and the basement kept getting water in it. I called Helitech and a competitor and both were really busy. Chose Helitech because they could get there sooner. Salesman promised me they would start the work in about 2-weeks -- work wasn't done until late August. I was told they had a big job at a nursing home that had to be done first. My job was not a minor cheap change but $5,000 and not one I thought would be put on the back burner. The people in the office were just about nonexistent; I'd call and leave messages and they were never returned. Just terrible customer support! The actual work that was done was good. And while the team of workers were nice, I had proof that they had gone through some of my things in the basement. I found one of the items upstairs proving they had moved it. The whole project put me behind three months of putting the house up for sale and left me with a bad taste for this business.

NIGHTMARE! Please learn from my experience and hire anybody but Helitech. This company was so awful to work with. Long story short, we hired Helitech to waterproof our basement after noticing some water. They installed a sump pump and drain tile around the entire perimeter of our basement. We went with Helitech because of all their advertising, paid spokespeople and mostly because of the warranty they provide. A few years after the system was installed parts of our basement began taking on water. I called Helitech immediately, and they sent someone out a few weeks later. The person who came out said, obviously there was a problem with the system they installed, he said he would go back and talk to the company and let me know what could be done to remedy the situation. Two months went by, they never contacted me. Over the next year and a half our basement flooded three times. I contacted Helitech several times, finally they sent someone out again. They determined the first system they put in was inadequate for the amount of water around our basement. They installed new drain tile, which if you have ever been through that process is a hassle like you cannot believe, they jackhammer the floor of your foundation take up all the old concrete install drain tile re-pour concrete it is dirty and messy. We had already been through this once with them and we’re not thrilled to have to go through it again, but we couldn’t have water in our basement. HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KEEP IN MIND when you read their warranty. Only their system is under warranty and guaranteed. EVEN IF THEY ARE AT FAULT AND INSTALL THE WRONG SYSTEM for your basement and it causes major damage, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGES AND EXPENSES. Since in my case, it was very clear that they had put in an in adequate system, I asked if they would please reimburse us for all of the damages. After a bunch of back-and-forth, they finally decided that they would NOT reimburse us for our damages. As a result we are out thousands of dollars. Because their system failed we had to have black mold remediation, replace all of our carpeting and refinish our entire basement again and lost so many personal items. Throughout the entire process I was patient, kind and as gracious as I could be given the circumstances. Helitech however was so incredibly rude I could not believe their attitude towards us. Towards the end of our ordeal I sent Helitech an email, THEY HAD BLOCKED MY EMAIL ADDRESS COMPANY WIDE, so they would have no further communication with me. I have never in my life had something like this happened. Please whatever you do, don’t hire Helitech.

I am a very detailed person. I ask a lot of questions. We had a few hiccups along the way because the sales person and the installer are different people, so information was not written out to specifications when the work was to be done. However, a quick call cleaned up the hiccups and everything moved forward smoothly. I waited until we had severe rain to write this to make sure the pump worked. It does! No more flooding in the basement.

The biggest problem we encountered with Helitech was their customer service/office staff. On the first day we were told the crew would arrive between 8 and 9 AM. We had to call when no one showed up. We were now told that they would not be able to get here until noon. We had specifically arranged our schedule so that we would be home in the AM. A simple phone call and we could have proceeded with our morning plans and been home at noon. They arrived at 2:30PM and left at 3:30PM. The job was done between 12/20 and 12/28/2017 and was completed in the amount of time as discussed. The piering was finished but the restoration of our property had to be put on hold until the weather improved. They still had to patch the concrete patio and put the dirt back in the 16 holes and grade/seed the ground. On 02/27/2018 we called the office to see if we could get on the schedule for the concrete and grading work. They said they would check and call us back. On 03/31/2018 we called again since we did not receive a call back. They wanted to know what still needed to be done. They couldn't find our records. We emailed the Incomplete Job Form to them. Concrete work was scheduled for a week later and was completed. Grading/Seeding still had to wait due to all the rain the region was experiencing. Called on 04/06/2018, 11 AM, to see if we could get the grading scheduled. No answer, left message, no return call. Called on 04/09/2018, 12:03 PM, spoke with Sommer. She will call us back tomorrow. 04/10/2018 3:12 PM Sommer called back to say they could not do the grading due to rain coming in the next couple of days. 04/16/2018 2:25 PM called to see if they could schedule us to do the grading. Left message, no return call. 04/17/2018 10:25 AM called again, spoke with Sommer. She said we would get a call back that day or the next. No return call. Called 04/20/2018 2:35 PM, Sommer said they would be out the next day to grade. They did arrive the next day to do the grading. However, the did not have a tamping tool to tamp down the area where the Air Conditioner was to be move back to. 04/23/2018 called to find out about getting the AC area tamped down. Received return call on 04/24/2018 and were told they would be out on 04/24/2018 to tamp down the ground for AC. Two guys showed up on that day and did a great job getting the ground ready for our AC to be put back in to place. 05/01/2018 When we were meeting with a contractor to discuss a new concrete patio we noticed that two bolts were left sticking out of the ground from the piers. We called Sommer right away and left a message as they would need to be cut down before they could do concrete work which we scheduled for 06/04/2018. On 05/02/2018 Sommer called back and said they would be out to take care of it. On 05/14/2018 we emailed Sommer to remind her that the bolts still needed to be cut down before our scheduled concrete work. 05/15/2018 Sommer emailed back to say she would be calling or emailing us this week with the expected day they would be out. 05/24/2018 emailed Sommer again since we never heard back. 05/29/2018 called Sommer since she never called or emailed again. We were told we were on the schedule for 06/01/2018. 06/01/2018 at 4:20 PM we call since no one had shown up yet. This was Friday afternoon and the concrete work was to begin that following Monday morning. Sommer was not in the office, spoke with Flo and we were told we were not on their schedule, that they could come out sometime next week. We explained that was not acceptable as the concrete work was to begin on Monday. Flo told me she would tell John and he would be in touch. 06/04/2018 Started calling their office at 7 AM. Finally, at 8:38 AM Sommer answered the phone. We were told someone would be out around 10 AM that morning. Someone did show up and cut the bolts. We are satisfied with the work performed. However, dealing with the office staff, mainly Sommer, was extremely frustrating and unpleasant. FYI: We were forced to select either yes or no on would we hire again. We are really undecided but that is not an option. We are selecting yes, however, depending on their office staff at the time, that could change to a no. We did not want to punish the company as a whole due to one bad actor.

We called several different foundation companies and got several different solutions to our problem; confusing to say the least. We decided to call Helitech, as a last option, but assumed we were not going to use them because we would be paying an elevated price because of their name. Last options or sometimes the best option. We could not have been happier with our experience with Helitech. All parties involved, from the sales person to the workers doing the grunt work were friendly, professional and a pleasure to do business with. Hopefully we never have another foundation problem to deal with, but if we do, there is only one company we need to contact, Helitech.

It was awful. Despite trying to explain the work to be done several different ways to the office people, they were not able to grasp the required repairs. As a result, the technician they sent for the repair did not have the right equipment or materials (he showed up on time and I don't think him not having the right materials is his fault). I was informed later that the equipment would have to be replaced in full with a new box, hose, fittings, etc. because it came as a package system. Unfortunately, according to Allen Outdoor, this equipment was on backorder. We didn't hear anything from them for 2-3 months when they called to follow up on a work order that was about to expire in their system and needed to know if we still needed the work done (which we did). They sent someone out to finish the work (a contract employee, not an Allen employee because he got the name of the company wrong during his introduction). the repair was done with all of the existing equipment (no new system provided which was the reason given for the original delay). All in all, really poor performance and bad customer service.

The crew was very professional. The work they did instilled confidence. Only complaint is that when they repaired the asphalt driveway they put a cold patch on which i do not believe will last. I am having an asphalt company out to permanently repair.

Response from HELITECH Waterproofing & Foundation Repair

"We do apologize for the length of time it took in this situation, unfortunately it appears that the original diagnosis of the problem in September of 2015 led us to believe that there was some potential new work that was needed. After recognizing the confusion our customer service manager visited the home and put together a repair plan at no cost to the home owner and the repair was completed shortly there after. Again, we do apologize for the delay but we are confident that the repair that was made is correct and will stand the test of time. respectfully."

A salesperson gave us an estimate for bowing and cracked foundation walls and for waterproofing. The salesperson badmouthed the competition several times. He stated one of the competitors did not have a physical address (not true), and claimed another was a new company (also false). I found this to be very unprofessional. The waterproofing estimate was $5,000 more than a competitor. When questioned about the price difference, the salesperson offered to drop the price by $3,000 and stated the competitor's waterproofing required maintenance. I felt ripped off, and it was untrue that the competitor 's system required maintenance. Overall, I did not trust the salesperson.  We reluctantly decided to have Helitech do our foundation repair because the price was reasonable and they offered a 20 year warranty. They also had great reviews. The people who did the foundation repair were punctual, professional, and very courteous. They answered all our questions and cleaned up after they were done.  I would highly recommend their installation team, but make sure to get several other estimates to make sure their salesperson is not ripping you off. In addition, double check what the salesperson states about competitors and systems.
