"I am sorry that you were disappointed in your experience with us. Your husband was under some very inaccurate impressions about how long this type of work takes to perform (for example, that it takes two hours to stain a door, because "home advisor says so"--when these are doors with 15 panes of glass in them that must be taped off both sides, and pine doors require extra steps, such as wood conditioner before staining) and was trying to tell me that I was incorrect. Our price is not "extremely high" (he has not even had a second bid)--it is more than he expected because he doesn't realize all that goes into this type of work (building, drywalling and painting new walls with door openings, and all of the door related work). I explained all this, even offered to only charge for time spent if we (my guys and I) were off on our labor projection--though we do so much of this work, that was not likely to happen. I did give him a breakdown and spent some time trying to explain and educate (he kept arguing and arguing), before giving up. I pointed out that, if I were seeking a mortgage (his business) I would defer to his expertise, and I would appreciate if he would not tell me what is involved in this project, labor/materials-wise, trust me and my expertise since we have taken good care of you guys in the past, and let me do my job. I think the tipping point for me was when he asked if we could do the work "less well" to get the price down. We are very proud of our workmanship and reputation, and I found this very frustrating. I should have just taken it as a warning sign and thanked him for his time, without letting it go to the point where I lost my patience. Best of luck with your project!"
"Hi [Member Name Removed], I am VERY sorry that I did not get in touch with you. We are a small staff on the admin/customer service and estimating ends, and sometimes get swamped with calls and e-mails requesting quotes and/or work. VERY occasionally an estimate request slips through the cracks--and we have also had it happen when we did reach out to a customer via phone, left a voicemail, and it was never gotten (though I'm not finding you in my call log). We try very hard, and feel terrible when this happens. Again, my sincerest apologies. - Molly Lovell"
"Thank you for your positive review. You are one of our favorite customers--it is always a pleasure working with you :)"
"Thank you for your positive review. I would like to say, though, that we were available to come out as soon as the next day after you contacted us, but it did not work with your schedule. We then had a few days filled with prior appointments to work around, in waiting for a day that could work for you, then had to swap things around to accommodate the late start time you required. We understand that people have busy lives, and, as always, did our best to accommodate. Thanks again!"
"Hello. I believe that you may have reviewed the wrong company here. We have not done work for anyone by your name, have no one on our staff named Faith, and only charge $55/hr. We would love to work for you, in future, though! Please visit our website for pics and customer testimonials, and feel free to call us when you have additional home repair or improvement needs."
"I am sorry that you were disappointed in the work. Matching up valves is a tricky process..and you are correct that they were wrong the first time. I believe that we tried to get with you at least once in the interim to replace them, and you were unavailable. The reason that the valves now turn opposite ways, is that Kerry correctly purchased a hot valve and a cold valve--which always turn opposite ways. This is how it should be, and how all new fixture sets come. Someone else had redone the valves at some point prior (probably before you lived there) and had used either two hots or two colds, which is why they turned the same way. It could not have occurred to Kerry that this had been the case, as it was incorrect. So, we did the job correctly..it is just not what you were used to. I was there when Kerry spoke to you about this, and he did offer to come back and redo them a third time (restoring them to what you were used to), which you declined. Again, I am sorry this caused you to lose faith in us, but I hope you will give us another chance in the future. I will happily extend you a discount on your next service, if so."
"Thanks for taking the time to review. We enjoyed working with you, too! :)"
"Thanks, [member name removed], for your kind review. Enjoy your backsplash...it was our pleasure. :)"
"We are so pleased when people like you take the time to share your experience with us. We remember our work in your home with fondness, as we too were very satisfied with the end result. We hope to work with you again in the future!"
