"Thank you for your positive review. You are one of our favorite customers--it is always a pleasure working with you :)"
"Thank you for your positive review. I would like to say, though, that we were available to come out as soon as the next day after you contacted us, but it did not work with your schedule. We then had a few days filled with prior appointments to work around, in waiting for a day that could work for you, then had to swap things around to accommodate the late start time you required. We understand that people have busy lives, and, as always, did our best to accommodate. Thanks again!"
Faith is a pit bull when it comes to keeping in contact and keeping you up to date, she also makes sure to give you follow up calls as well so you wont ever feel like you're being ignored.
Overall I would probably use them again but I am a little hesitant because of the $85 an hour rate. There were no hidden or last second additional costs or anything like that so honesty looks like it is a virtue with them as well.
"Hello. I believe that you may have reviewed the wrong company here. We have not done work for anyone by your name, have no one on our staff named Faith, and only charge $55/hr. We would love to work for you, in future, though! Please visit our website for pics and customer testimonials, and feel free to call us when you have additional home repair or improvement needs."
I have used this firm for several jobs in the past and had excellent results and enjoyed working with Molly and Kerry, but they've now increased their prices and I feel I can no longer afford them, esp. after the muddle with the shower job.
"I am sorry that you were disappointed in the work. Matching up valves is a tricky process..and you are correct that they were wrong the first time. I believe that we tried to get with you at least once in the interim to replace them, and you were unavailable. The reason that the valves now turn opposite ways, is that Kerry correctly purchased a hot valve and a cold valve--which always turn opposite ways. This is how it should be, and how all new fixture sets come. Someone else had redone the valves at some point prior (probably before you lived there) and had used either two hots or two colds, which is why they turned the same way. It could not have occurred to Kerry that this had been the case, as it was incorrect. So, we did the job correctly..it is just not what you were used to. I was there when Kerry spoke to you about this, and he did offer to come back and redo them a third time (restoring them to what you were used to), which you declined. Again, I am sorry this caused you to lose faith in us, but I hope you will give us another chance in the future. I will happily extend you a discount on your next service, if so."
"Thanks for taking the time to review. We enjoyed working with you, too! :)"
"Thanks, [member name removed], for your kind review. Enjoy your backsplash...it was our pleasure. :)"
"We are so pleased when people like you take the time to share your experience with us. We remember our work in your home with fondness, as we too were very satisfied with the end result. We hope to work with you again in the future!"
"Glad that Jim did a great job for you. He is an excellent craftsman and technician--and a fine man all around. We are lucky to have such people on our team. Thanks for your kind words. :)"
"This customer provided a shower door that they had bought some time ago, that was unsuitable for the application...and an unusually intricate and time-consuming install. This was only one of several complications caused by the fixtures they had (ignorantly and erringly) picked out and purchased prior to hiring us--most of which I caught beforehand and brought to their attention. At that time they were grateful. Since we did not open the packaging and read the instructions for the door until the time of installation (and it looked fairly standard judging by the photo on the box), I could not have foreseen this unusual door system/install. Unlike most shower doors units (where both panels slide), this one had only one operating panel. We installed it per the manufacturer's instructions (the doors must overlap in such a manner that the shower head is not aimed at the gap between the two panels), but the customer was unhappy with it, as it is more difficult to get in that way due to the proximity of the toilet. We offered them a few options (one of which was reinstalling the doors the other way, if they signed off on the fact that they doors would leak like a sieve), and they requested that option, saying they would pay for the additional time. We only asked that they pay the original contract balance first (getting a bad feeling at this point) since all other work was completed to their satisfaction, but they tried to leverage us by withholding it--and became surly. At this point we no longer trusted them and were afraid to invest more time without payment for time to date, and advised them of our rights in the situation--and that, since we had installed their door per manufacturer's instructions, we would pursue our rights to enforce the contract if need be. In the end they paid us, but told us to leave without reinstalling the doors. We regret the outcome of the situation, however; this is why we prefer to work with people throughout the process, from start to finish, so that we may educate them on the implications of various choices, and help guide them. Unfortunately, this is what sometimes happens when people go out shopping for materials THEN hire someone to install them. They think they will save money doing it this way, but (since they do not deal with these things on a daily basis) they do not typically know what to look out for, and/or all of the things that one must know when selecting materials, for suitability of application and installation. Again, we are saddened when this sort of thing happens--and we will think twice before agreeing to install materials supplied by customers, in the future."
