Weiss Lawn Care, Inc, and Weiss Snow Removal, Inc.

Craig serviced our lawn for fertilization, weed control, grub control and core aeration. I liked his service and lawn looked great during summer free of any weed. Craig personally responds to email. I would recommend their service to others.

We are a commercial condominum association. Called Weiss seeking quotes for both snow removal and landscaping. Waited almost three weeks for Craig to come out. (Understandable, if they're busy). Said he would send us quotes for both services. Then, heard nothing. Two weeks later, I called Craig. He said that they did not want to quote snowplowing because their accounts are all and quot;zero toleranceand quot; meaning they all want their lots salted when plowed -- and we don't like salt. (Do you think you could have told me this when we met???) I then asked if he would quote the landscaping -and he said he would. Well, it's been three weeks and I have not heard from Weiss. I consider this to be be both discourteous and unprofessional -- notwithstanding a complete waste of my time.

Their service is great and the lawn looks good. I just see their sign pop up in my yard. I am never there during the time of service.

This is the third season that I have hired Weiss Lawn Care. I first hired them to bring my weed infested yard under control after purchasing my house. Their service is great and the cost is low so I continue to hire them. They mow my lawn weekly for $34 and apply weed control/fertilization six times throughout the season for $46 each application. Anytime I have a question or need additional service, Craig replies within 24 hours. They do work fast and occasionally leave clumps of grass clippings in the yard, but for the price I can live with that.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the look of our yard after Weiss serviced it. We noticed several spots that were missed. The front yard looked pretty good. However, in our side yard, the lawn wasn’t trimmed around an easily removable(!)/temporary sign. (I would have removed it myself if I knew they wouldn't.) In the back yard, the grass was trimmed around only two of the five mini-fences that line our wooden fence. We also noticed places that were not trimmed around a couple of corners in the yard. Although our back yard was very long, we were surprised to see that the grass overall was very uneven, which may have been due to the very fast working pace of the team. We certainly recognize that we could have done more to help your team work efficiently; however, there was no communication. For these reasons, we cancelled our service immediately. In hindsight, perhaps it would have been better if they had more time. It just seemed a little haphazard.

Weiss performed two lawn treatments that were acceptable. However they did not communicate when the treatments would be done. They just showed up and did them. The Step 1 treatment that includes a pre-emergence weed control was applied after the crab grass had already emerged in full force. Since I signed up late April, I think they should have at least talked to me about applying the Step 1 treatment before just coming out and applying it. The first and only time they mowed the lawn was on a rainy Friday about 1 1/2 weeks after I had signed up. They should have cut it the week before but apparently, they weren't flexible enough with their schedule to fit me in the week before. I understand that they have no control over the weather but they do have control over their schedule. Apparently, their schedule takes precedence over the weather. Quite frankly though, this is the case for the vast majority of lawn care services. I've had four lawn care services over the past 11 years and inflexibility of scheduling around the weather is a common issue. At any rate, the grass was cut very high. Still, there were an excessive amount of grass clumps that I spent a good part of a Sunday afternoon raking. Ultimately, I canceled their services and have since bought my own lawn mowers. At least now I have control over when the lawn is cut.

They've been out here twice so I can't comment on how good they are and how good their product is, but their prices were fair and competitive. They came on time and the owner was responsive to the calls that I've made. They are timely and came when they said they would. They've just started, so, how it's going to work out in the future, I don't know. I will use them through this year.

They're reliable. But he cuts the lawn sometimes when it doesn't need to be cut.

The first week, they weren't sure of the boundaries for my lawn, so they missed a section, but I called and spoke to Gary and I haven't had a problem sense. With the drought this summer, I've had to cancel my service a couple of times and Gary is very good about cancelling. Overall, I have had a pleasant experience with both Gary and the guys that come to service my lawn.
