Services provided Drake provides both residential and commercial services. We decorate many of Chicago’s high end neighborhoods but no job is too small. We also provide services to many commercial customers completing interiors and exteriors for McDonald’s, Burger King’s, Enterprise car rentals, hotels, restaurants, Doctors offices, Country Clubs, Associations, and Dentist offices, to name only a few. Interior Drake carries out all manner of drywall and plaster repair. We strip wallpaper, remove paneling, remove unwanted woodwork and perform full preparation to all surfaces prior to painting or paper hanging. We help with color selections and will paint sample boards for our customers. We do a wide range of faux finishes and have display boards to help with selection. We hang all manner of wall coverings and all fifty-four inch vinyl goods. We also install decorative trim such as crown moldings, chair rails, casings, frame moldings, and baseboards. We paint all surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal work and floorings. Our capabilities include spray painting kitchen and bathroom cabinets for a fresh new look without you having to replace them. Exterior Full preparation is a must for a quality exterior job. Washing is important for a clean surface but does not replace the hard work of scraping and sanding. We paint and stain all wood exteriors as well as priming and painting of vinyl and metal surfaces. We have also carried out a variety of jobs such as painting hopscotch and four square courts for schools and painting signs for businesses. We have no issue with two or three story homes and buildings. We clean and refurbish decking and will stain and seal your deck to make it look like new.

Dan from Drake was very responsive and quick to get me an estimate. He kept me informed regarding dates for doing the work, and I very much appreciated his good communication. The price was right around the price quoted by others, and Dan had some good suggestions, which I appreciated. The painters were very friendly and professional and were on time every day. The job looks very good. My only concerns were: I found a splash of paint in the tile behind the toilet that they spilled and missed the clean-up and it there are small paint splatters in my sink (which should chip off). I'm not sure if they poured out some water down the drain with some paint in it? In general I didn't see a lot of drop cloths or tape in use but, to be honest, I haven't found any other damage and it all looks very nice.

Their estimate was good and competitive. They were good. They were on time. They were at the mercy of the weather. The window repair was on an hourly basis. They called right away. It has only been two weeks so I don't know how it will be down the road.

I contacted Drake paining very close to the dates I really needed the service. I only had this one week to have the work done, before sanding the floor, and then the move in. Drake painting did everything they could to fit this job into their schedule. And they managed to send the right people at the right time to get the job done. They contacted me the day before to confirm, and arrived very promptly at the days of service. They did a fantastic job removing the wall paper, preparing to paint. There was absolutely no prep work needed for us, but we could just start painting. The guys who hung our wall paper did an equally excellent job! We had our own "delicate" wall paper (and just enough - no extra rolls...) that was matched/aligned perfectly. Could not have been done better. I would use them at any time again.

Dan came out and gave a very specific to the point itemized proposal. The crew arrived early every day and got to work on time. They would only stop for lunch and get right back to work. We decided to use them for the outstanding reviews on Angies List and the best price quote compared to other bids. The foreman was very professional and the crew was very hard working.I would recommend this company to friends and we would use them again.

Original estimate provided by Dan was detailed and thorough. Slavic (paint) and Bob (wallpaper) went out of their way to ensure we were happy with the job. Have used Drake before for outside painting and highly recommend them.

Drake Painting is the best! This was the 3rd time I hired them, and they did not disappoint. They transformed the outside of my house from a tri-colored, dreary blah exterior to one that is crisp and cheerful. (Thanks to Jose & Valente, who were very professional and a pleasure to have around.)
What impresses me most is how friendly and professional everyone on their team is. They do a great job, not only in the prepping and painting, but also in the cleanup. They are a vendor I can trust, and I know I will get a great value for the money.
I also appreciate that Dan was willing to work with me to reduce the cost a little since I was "under-employed" - by having me paint the doors and the easy to reach trim, I saved a little money, which was very helpful.
For my next painting project, I will definitely hire Drake again. I highly recommend them.

The estimator (and owner?), Dan, had great suggestions for how to handle the dining room ceiling. We had him give us a proposal for many rooms in the house, which we will be doing in the future. The proposal was in my e-mail box within 48 hours.
The foreman, Mark, worked diligently to get all of the cracks, holes, and odd ball damage fixed. He ensured that little sanding dust landed in other parts of the house, and he cleaned up every night before leaving. HIs work is superior! In addition, he is a great person to have around. My kids were disappointed to see him finish--they enjoyed having him around.
I can't say enough good things about this company. I am so happy to have found them.

Drake's estimator was prompt and efficient, setting up a time for the painting within a week from my request. The guys arrived on time, worked all day and finished by 7 that evening. They were polite, clean, and professional. The walls look great.

Overall, they were excellent. They were thorough, and their estimate was also thorough. They did exactly what they said they would and it was one of my better painting experiences. I'd use them again in the future and I would recommend them.

The crew did an amazing job of taking a garage that looked like it was falling apart and making it look like new. The French doors were in terrible shape too. The crew noted many more windows that needed work than the estimator (or even our home inspector) did. They carefully scrapped and filled and sanded and painted. Everything looks like new. They went out of their way to pick up a new door at a lumber yard and picked up extra siding to replace rotting boards. They were nice guys that I enjoyed talking with. I will definitely have them back to paint the interior.

It started when I bid the job out to a few contractors. I went with Drake because of the Angie ratings, references, and price. I was actually going to be out of town during the entire job. I did hire a person to help me select colors as I was repainting everything from white to color and included some interesting designs of horizontal stripsed that wrap around the kitchen and hallway and a powderoom that had two large stripes in flat and glossy a brown ceiling in the family room. This of course made me a bit nervous as you never know what the situation will look like when you are done - but Dan sent me emails to let me know that all was prorgressing well. They started and finished the job on time! Robert, the foreman, also called me if they had any questions or concerns. I liked that they were very consciences of their work and the house was relatively clean when I returned. (some dusting required) The quality of the workmanshp is amazing. Particularly in the areas where they had to spackle/mud certain areas. In the basement I had a hole the size of a chair and you can't even tell. The resanded all of the areas and did not cut corners. I am really pleased overall that I went with Drake and would happily recommend them to others.

They did a good job. It was pretty straightforward and they were good at helping me to figure out what color stains I needed, it included the stain. The owner called to check and see how we liked everything and that was good. It was a pretty easy job I spent $840 including the material. The workers that came out were nice and they spoke English and that was good. There was a little sloppiness on a couple of things and they were corrected later. I don’t know if I would use them for interior painting but I would definitely use them on exterior things.

The work was managed through our project manager for the construction of the screened porch. His idea was to make the painting process easier by having the painter come and go whilst construction was ongoing. This did not work out so we waited until it was complete and apart from the weather it was completed beautifully.Terry was very good and even came on a few weekends to catch up due to weather delays.

I have used them for many things and they are excellent. I would rate them high overall. Their prices were reasonable. They also helped us to match the paints and flooring. They are pretty good and I am very happy with them. I would use them again in the future.

The experience was very positive from start to finish. When Dan came to quote the job, he took his time walking through the house with me and took very detailed notes. When the quote came back (the next day), all the details were provided in the quote, in writing. Having had bad experiences in the past, I cannot tell you how valuable it is to have a detailed quote to prevent arguments about what exactly should have been done. Anyway, the quote was slightly higher than what I could afford so I worked with Dan to get the price down (I removed wall paper and old shelving units instead of having his crew do it). When the work started, I swung by the house to meet the foreman, Eric, who was friendly and professional. I did a walkthrough with him to show him potential problem areas he assured me he would take care of them. He and his crew did a stellar job. They did all the little things that often get overlooked like replacing old outlet covers. They even through in a few extras at no charge - he rerouted a coaxial cable for me and installed some heatings grates. The price was not the cheapest quote I received, nor was it the most expensive. I feel like the work they did far exceeded the price they charged and the extra few hundred dollars was money well spent.
