DOUGLAS AUTO BODY

Another happy customer! Except that they didn't charge me :) so I don't know if I count as a customer. I used to go to CASCI in Forest Park, but they got bought out by the Abra chain. I'd hoped they'd be the same, but they're taking cues from Firestone now. I asked Abra for an estimate for just fixing the bend in the sheet metal, to be paid by me out of pocket. They also added in replacing the grill and fender (which only have cosmetic paint damage) and repainting multiple parts for $1300. This morning I went in to Douglas. He looked it over, then came back out with a small (coated) pry bar and quickly and gently bent it back into shape. He refused to let me pay him. They are the nicest most honest folks! Avoid the big corporate chains, go to Douglas Auto Body!

As soon as I had my accident, I spoke with State Farm then call Douglas Auto Body, and the first question they asked was if I was alright. Impressive. They arranged a rental car, and did a beautiful job on my car. One of the most professional service providers I have ever dealt with - they really took care of me!

The company was recommended to me by FJS Automotive. I bought the car in to have the passenger rear floorboard replaced. The receptionist was friendly. The owner was busy with another customer. When he finished he asked how he could help and I told him what I needed. He went out and looked at everything. He went back in worked up the estimate and gave it to me. He had the receptionist set up a date for me to bring the car in. As we walked out he asked me to wait a minute and said that I had some matting hanging out and he pushed it back up in order for it not to be hanging.

$1,200 for replacing a front bumper? Can you imagine how much it would cost to reconstruct your car if you had to pay for it piecemeal. We got another estimate so Douglas was right in line and they did a fine job. But this was my first experience with an auto body repair and I still cannot believe that it cost so much. This is a $26,000 car new. I mean this was a bumper, nothing mechanical.

Repair job went as expected. Insurance covered the work, but delivery was as promised. Customer service after the job has been excellent and note-worthy. They sent a follow up letter reminding us of the warranty and inviting us to bring in the car if there was any problem. They also sent a friendly letter on our birthday.
