Called fitness mechanic to schedule a service call and was quoted a price: 100 Tune-up and 40 for minor repair. For any repair beyond minor, the technicaion would quote before work Set up an appointment for 04/30, 7 to 11 AM On 04/30/2012 MON, Vince arrived @8:45 AM on the promised day and within the delivery window. He loosened the housing, inspected the machine and determined that a cable between the servo motor and the brake had snapped and needed replacing. He recommended replacing both cables. Vince called the part in, indicating that the office would call to set up a follow-up appointment once they had a tracking number from LifeFitness. Costs: 232 + tax. At the end of the first visit, I paid 140 for initial service call and deposit, would pay the balance on completion. Vince was soft-spoken, personable and efficient. 05/03/2012 - The office scheduled for follow-up appointment on 05/09 in a 11 am to 3 pm window.05/09/2012 - Vince called ahead requesting permission to arrive early as a previous stop had been cancelled. Vince arrived and made repair on the cables. Seeing how the unit was put together, Vince might have made the call to replace the whole brake assembly rather than just the cables, increasing the cost of the repair to me by ~300, but he did not. After Vince had the machine together and tried the elliptical, there was a rubbing in the rear of the machine that he straightened out, due to some bolts that had come loose over time. This effort required an extra hour on his part, but it also delivered a much higher quality end result. Finally, I tested the machine and found the resistance problem resolved and the machine to be running far more smoothly than I can remember it doing.Excellent work. I would use them again.

Our treadmill had just stopped moving. The technician determined that the belt and lower board and various other parts needed to be replaced. Although the majority of the parts that needed replacing did not fall under warranty any longer, the manufacturer offered to cover all the parts under warranty. We did pay for labor. The Fitness Mechanic employees were pleasant to deal with when I called and both times that the repairman arrived at our home. I would call them again.
