OMG what an awful experience. I'm starting to question Angie's list ratings because these people are the equivalent to buying a used car at a sleazy dealer.

We called for an estimate on a new patio door and needed a service provider because it's a bit of a custom job. I went through the entire project with the agent on the phone, explained in detail what we were looking for, and she scheduled a sales appt. I should have had better radar when she asked that all decision-makers be present for the estimate, which pretty much told me what their sales tactics were going to be.

Anyway, the rep showed up, to his credit, on time, but had no idea what we wanted, When we explained the project he seemed surprised. I told him i had gone through the project over the phone with the agent, and said "well those are call center so what are you expecting..." I told him that he probably doesn't want to be talking smack about his own company, and that it kind of says something about the company overall. Onward... so then we explained what we wanted, and the sales guy said "you know that's not going to be cheap, right?"  He literally said that.... Then he got on the phone with "production" and relayed  the project and the questions we had so he could actually get answers. The guy on the phone must have said something again about the cost, and the rep said "yeah, this is a nice area, they look like they can afford it." I mean, what?

So then he gets off the phone and says that he will give us an estimate for a vinyl patio door as close as he can get it until he gets an exact quote from "production." That's when i told him that I specifically wanted a wood door, to match the rest of the windows in our 100 year old house. He said "we only do vinyl and if that's not what you want then i think we're done." But not before he suggested that we replace all our original vintage windows with vinyl. I said well I'm not one of them, and that's not why you're here, and as you can imagine, that was that, and he left.  But not before he called "production" to tell them he didn't make the sale (and probably to tell the manager that he wouldn't need help with the high pressure sales tactics that were sure to follow had we wanted to proceed).

I would NOT recommend engaging Window Works for anything, EVER. Unprofessional, terrible internal communication, high-pressure sales approach, complete with a virtual "manager" in the back office. Weird and scary. I don't even want to know how they handle you once you've already paid. STAY AWAY.

"I apologize for this experience. That is not how we operate at all. We will be reaching out to you shortly in regards to this. Thank you, and I am sorry that we cannot help you with the wood patio door."

They did what they said they were going to do without delay. They were very efficient the day they came. My only complaint was that the catalog with the salesperson that I talked to make the decision and write the contract did not show all the possibilities. Someone called me during the process to ask what kind of keys I wanted, and I found out that there were some other designs, which I preferred. So I got the preferred design when we were in the process between the time I met with the salesperson and when they started the work. Overall they were good, and I think the doors have functioned well and they are very tight weather-wise, which is what I wanted. They have good, strong locks, so I think is good. I didn’t do a lot of comparison shopping.

So the guy comes out to my house to give me estimates on replacement windows. All went well with the demo. He then tells me he is going to give me an estimate right there on the spot - and quotes $17,000 is list. Each time he gave me a price he would stare at me looking for a reaction. I didn't say anything - and he just continued to lower the price with various discounts. He gets down to $11,200 - with a Feb discount - a military discount - a cash payment discount - and finally a one time discount. It was like a flea market for windows. He continued to ask what it would take for me to sign the papers that night - and I told him over and over that I was not signing anything - that I had a few other estimates to get before I make a decision. After 2 1/2 hours of this non sense I had finally had enough of his questions about why I would not sign and told him to shut his mouth and get out of my house. Strangest experience I have ever had - and would never recommend this place. Seems like a very strange company. BEWARE.

The tech came and measured the windows in my basement. We had a discussion on what was possible. The tech presented our options and gave me an estimate. He then asked if I wanted to call my husband. I told him no and we talked a little bit more. Then he wanted to leave because my husband wasn't there. I told him I make the decisions. I felt very insulted. He told me to speak to the office. I called them and they sent his supervisor supposedly to make it up to me. He came out on a Saturday. My husband was not happy. He stayed until the tech arrived and spoke with him telling him he was not happy with the way I had been treated and that I was perfectly capable of making a decision. This tech told me the other guy was nicer than him. He asked me what the price I received. He told me the notes for the quotes were $1,000 per window. This sounded a like a preset price. That wasn't what I was quoted. i was first quoted something along the lines of $10,000. I told him that was way out of budget. This was not the only estimate I had received. The first tech talked to me about different kinds of windows. He then quoted roughly $6,000 before he left abruptly. There was no paperwork despite the fact I had asked him to leave the estimate. the second tech then quoted $14,000. I told him I thought he was coming to make this right but he refused to go any lower on the price. wouldn't discuss anything with us. left abruptly as well. made it a big deal that he was on Angie's list. the techs were contradicting each other and it was very frustrating. Somebody called from the office blaming me because my husband needs to be there and told me my husband had to be there but this was not the case. They also advertise they give restaurant gift cards for estimates and I have not received those. Both techs were late for our appointments.

Quality and workmanship are very good. Work was done on the day scheduled. However, it did take a while before the doors were ready to be installed.

Daniel was extremely profession, personable and all in all great to work with.  He explained all the in's and out's of their window compared to others.  I never felt like I was being pressured into purchasing from him.  The installers were on time, very professional and worked quickly.  They had the whole house done in one day (including one picture window with two casements on both sides and 8 double-hungs.  The windows the I chose were the middle of the road since I didn't want to put a lot of money in to the house and I'm extremely satisfied with them especially with the winter weather.  Great company to work with!

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. On October 10, 2014 we had an appointment with Bill Porayka. Good sales job.  Not one thing that was promised came true. Windows to be installed supposedly in 4 to 10 weeks. I called after a month and was told that production had stopped but our windows would be installed on time. I just had a bad feeling. Did not hear from them again until I called on December 23, 2014 to cancel the order. Was told by Leann that the windows were "in production" and I could not cancel even though the installation was supposed to be completed by December 23, 2014. What does "in production mean"? More Lies. Then  I was told by Leann that a Supervisior was required to visit our home to fill out a refund form. That was to be on December 27, 2014 at 4:30pm.
Guess what? NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED TO CANCEL. On December 29, 2014 I called and talked to a very nice person Bernadette. She told me that the assistant to the owner (Ron Varek) would be calling me. Not holding my breath. This is a company that is all SALES and no DELIVERY. Can not say one good thing about this company. Stay tuned.

Sales presentation was obnoxious, but the price seemed reasonable considering they were touting a product that should equal Anderson or Pella.
Installation went okay - a year later the casement windows in the front of the house do not close very easily.  Otherwise the windows are not quite as noise resistant as I had expected based upon the sales presentation, and I wonder if these windows actually meet the quality level based on what we had seen in that ridiculous sales presentation (particularly the insulation they claimed).
After calling us 6 months later about a 50% off deal for doors, we then had to sit through another, more obnoxious, hard sell presentation, where the sales person seemed unaware that he was here because they offered us a 50% deal.  He made us walk through an entire door catalog (price a mystery, of course) only to quote us an absurd price at the end.  We did not accept, he lowered the price to what they had told us over the phone, but at that point we were turned off on the entire process.
Since then, we received another call offering a better deal than what they had given us.
I take from that a couple of things.  #1) if you use them, do not accept the initial offer, ever.  #2) I question the quality of the product if it requires used car salesman tactics to sell.

Salesman was pushy, was told they would be done before thanksgiving but the windows were installed in first week of December. The 2 installers were great and installed the windows in less than 1 day. Every thing was cleaned up when left. The windows met all expectations

The representative arrived 40 minutes late, which was fine, but I was told the process would take 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours and the guy finally had to be forced out of my home after over 2 hours.  The sales pitch for these windows were long and extensive and I eventually stopped caring.  When we asked the guy how much the 7 windows we needed were he would not provide us an answer.  He gave us a quote of 24,000 for all 14 windows but then the 7 windows we wanted was 5,000.  I didn't understand how the price was so different.  We told the representative we would think about it because we had other estimates coming and were told the prices would go up if we didn't agree to the prices today.  The guy actually told us we don't need other estimates!  He was asked to leave the house after over two hours and, after a verbal argument with the guy, he finally left!  He also told us they use their own professionally bonded installers and I learned they contracted out.

I am a little dissatisfied with them. The whole reason for me replacing my windows was because I had moisture inside, and I still have moisture inside. I called them, and they asked if I had my dryer going, and my cooking, and so I will have moisture. I spoke to somebody, and they said they would send somebody out but they did not. I have 2 bay windows to replace, but I will not use them. They were very nice, they showed up, they worked non-stop and very hard. I just want an explanation as to why this is happening. If I knew what to do, then I would go and buy a dehumidifier, but I would like to know if they were installed badly. They did a good job, but I cannot judge the quality of the window, because I don't know if it is a window problem or something in the house. The guys that came out here were very professional. The pricing was pretty good.
