"Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your business and your feedback!"
We called for an estimate on a new patio door and needed a service provider because it's a bit of a custom job. I went through the entire project with the agent on the phone, explained in detail what we were looking for, and she scheduled a sales appt. I should have had better radar when she asked that all decision-makers be present for the estimate, which pretty much told me what their sales tactics were going to be.
Anyway, the rep showed up, to his credit, on time, but had no idea what we wanted, When we explained the project he seemed surprised. I told him i had gone through the project over the phone with the agent, and said "well those are call center so what are you expecting..." I told him that he probably doesn't want to be talking smack about his own company, and that it kind of says something about the company overall. Onward... so then we explained what we wanted, and the sales guy said "you know that's not going to be cheap, right?" He literally said that.... Then he got on the phone with "production" and relayed the project and the questions we had so he could actually get answers. The guy on the phone must have said something again about the cost, and the rep said "yeah, this is a nice area, they look like they can afford it." I mean, what?
So then he gets off the phone and says that he will give us an estimate for a vinyl patio door as close as he can get it until he gets an exact quote from "production." That's when i told him that I specifically wanted a wood door, to match the rest of the windows in our 100 year old house. He said "we only do vinyl and if that's not what you want then i think we're done." But not before he suggested that we replace all our original vintage windows with vinyl. I said well I'm not one of them, and that's not why you're here, and as you can imagine, that was that, and he left. But not before he called "production" to tell them he didn't make the sale (and probably to tell the manager that he wouldn't need help with the high pressure sales tactics that were sure to follow had we wanted to proceed).
I would NOT recommend engaging Window Works for anything, EVER. Unprofessional, terrible internal communication, high-pressure sales approach, complete with a virtual "manager" in the back office. Weird and scary. I don't even want to know how they handle you once you've already paid. STAY AWAY.
"I apologize for this experience. That is not how we operate at all. We will be reaching out to you shortly in regards to this. Thank you, and I am sorry that we cannot help you with the wood patio door."

Guess what? NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED TO CANCEL. On December 29, 2014 I called and talked to a very nice person Bernadette. She told me that the assistant to the owner (Ron Varek) would be calling me. Not holding my breath. This is a company that is all SALES and no DELIVERY. Can not say one good thing about this company. Stay tuned.
Installation went okay - a year later the casement windows in the front of the house do not close very easily. Otherwise the windows are not quite as noise resistant as I had expected based upon the sales presentation, and I wonder if these windows actually meet the quality level based on what we had seen in that ridiculous sales presentation (particularly the insulation they claimed).
After calling us 6 months later about a 50% off deal for doors, we then had to sit through another, more obnoxious, hard sell presentation, where the sales person seemed unaware that he was here because they offered us a 50% deal. He made us walk through an entire door catalog (price a mystery, of course) only to quote us an absurd price at the end. We did not accept, he lowered the price to what they had told us over the phone, but at that point we were turned off on the entire process.
Since then, we received another call offering a better deal than what they had given us.
I take from that a couple of things. #1) if you use them, do not accept the initial offer, ever. #2) I question the quality of the product if it requires used car salesman tactics to sell.
