Used $49 coupon for furnace inspection and tune up. The person that came out was very professional and knowledgeable. He was very patient and explained everything to us. He gave advise on intalling a drain in crawl space in case of future plans for humidifier and bcs of a leak problem in the AC. A very nice girl from the company called both before to confirm the service and after to find out how things had gone. The only thing that surprised me was that I asked for an estimate on duct cleaning and they told me $800+ (?!). I wonder what they do for it to be that pricey. I have paid around $125 in the past. I would use the services again only if they have a coupon bcs judging from that quote it seems like their services are pricey without a coupon.

1:30 PM: Called to replace leaking dishwasher valve and water line. Was told on initial call that "Tech just finished a job and could be right out" 3:05 PM: I called back and was told that "Tech was on another job and should be to house by 5:00"--as my water line continued to drip because now my water main wasn't turning off completely, and began scrambling to make alternative plans for my kids to be picked up from school activities--thinking to myself I should have just looked up the process on youtube, purchased the $20 worth of parts, and done the project myself. 5:20 PM: I called again after still no word on ETA. Reached ?emergency dispatch service? (which at least there was one!) who had to forward phone number to person on call. Informed them I am unable to turn off water main. 5:30 PM: Tech--Kirk ---Shows up: Friendly and professional enough, somewhat apologetic for the tardiness. I did discuss with him my frustrations over being told ?Someone could be right out? to a 4 hour later fiasco. Kirk was quick about replacing the valve for the dishwasher, and the valve for the water main shutoff. So far work seems fine. 6:45 PM: After missing my son?s first wrestling meet, paying $700 bill-- for maybe $30 worth of parts and an hour of labor (Which I imagine is typical for plumbing services--and thus the reason for the "C" grade, which means "average" in my opinion-- since there isn't any plumbing company out there bragging about their prices), Kirk left, offering to return if necessary if for any reason valve doesn?t work for dishwasher install. Thinking plumbing would be a great profession to encourage my kids into-good pay and can't be outsourced. Gave "B" grades because job went as expected--nothing terribly outstanding. Kirk was helpful in providing a semi-second opinion on the awful Navien water heater I had installed by Beery Heating and Cooling, who seems to have no idea how to fix. I may call PHS back to look into the water heater--which is as good as a review I can give.
Description of Work: The shutoff valve for my dishwasher was replaced as well as one of the shut off valves to the main water supply that wouldn;'t close completely.

Overall I was happy with this original service call. Jason arrived promptly after providing me a courtesy call to let me know when he was about a half hour away. When he arrived at my house he was prepared to enter my home wearing booties, however I saved him the trip in the house by letting him know that my clean out was at the curb. At this time he invited me to join him to watch him do the televising and rodding. After his inspection Jason went over all of the problem areas with me and ultimately recommended that I have a sewer lining installed claiming that this would be far cheaper then having my lawn dug up and new pipe installed, I was very excited by this as I was able to see that there were serious problems with my clay sewer pipe. When I asked for a rough estimate on cost I was told I needed 68 feet of liner and that it could range from about $10,000 - $12,000 including a sewer jetting which was an $1100 service, I was absolutely blown away by this number as I was expecting far less after being told that this lining would be half as expensive as having new pipe laid but I digress. Fast forward now to the beginning of October when I came across an Angie's List Big Deal for sewer relining by Perfect Home Service for $1649 for 20' of 4"pipe or $89 per foot for 6"pipe including the required sewer jetting,at this price it should roughly come out to somewhere around $6100 as I have the 6" pipe, again I was very excited about this as this was much more affordable. However, this is where the excitement and compliments take a definite nose dive. As part of the "Big Deal" the consumer is told to have Perfect Home Services come out for a detailed estimate, so I called Perfect Home Services as I had some questions for them before I purchased the "Big Deal", this is where the problems began. No one at Perfect Home Service's call center was able to answer any of my questions, which I can respect and was grateful that they didn't try to make up answers, I was told that my questions would be directed to the original tech (Jason) who performed the televising and rodding and that I could expect a call back from him. After 2 days with no return phone call from Jason I called back and asked to make an appointment with another tech to come out to give me a detailed estimate as the opportunity for purchasing the "Big Deal" was expiring. I was told that I was being put in the 8am slot for Saturday morning and I could expect a phone call 30 minutes prior to the techs arrival. When I had not received a phone call by 11am saturday morning I had decided to call for an ETA, I was told that the tech got called to an emergency job but I could expect him by noon. I finally received a call around 1:30pm from the tech stating that he would not be able to make it during business hours but would stop to do the inspection and estimate on his way home and I did not need to be present (as I had errands to run) since I had a cleanout outside. After not hearing anything back from the tech, I finally called him around 8pm, at which time he said that he had done the inspection and would have to talk to his boss on Monday morning about the footage he collected. The tech called me at 8:30 Monday morning to tell me that he had inspected the wrong house and would need to come back to my house for another inspection and would be at my house within a half hour. The tech (Joe) arrived within said time, however upon completing the inspection and speaking with his boss claimed that I now need over 100' of liner (which is very hard to believe since 100' from my curb clean out is in my backyard) and 2 sewer jettings, only 1 of which would be included the other of which would cost $1100 bringing the grand total back up to a whopping $9700. In the end I ultimately feel like I'm being jacked around by Perfect Home Services and that the first professional visit went so well because I was a first time customer. I'm not sure that I will end up doing business with this company.

Great. The only challenge was the plummer choose to go down 75th st to get to our house and was delayed almost an hour due to construction delays. Great job, I will certainly look for another Angie's list special from them again.
Description of Work: Cleaned the sewer line, even the tough places like right next to the house connection. I have a challenging sewer line since a big silver maple sits right next to it, so there are always lots of roots. He verified with the TV that he got them all. He also did my neighbor's sewer line since I purchased 2 coupons. That went even better than mine since he very few roots. Please note, you have to be home when they rod the sewer line since you have to flush the toliet or run the shower to clear out the cut roots to ensure plumber got them all.

I had an appointment, not a window of time, for 4:00 PM. I was told that the techinician would call me 30 minutes prior to their arrival time. I had to leave work early in order to make it home by 4 PM. I called the provider and spoke with, Amber (I think that was her name) and I asked her if my appointment was running on time. She then put the service department on the line and I was told that the tech. was finishing up his last job and would be there no later than 4:30. The technician did not make to my house until 6:00 PM. He was at a job location which was more than 30 minutes from my house and he called at 4:30 and was in Oswego. The rep himself was very professional and actually did a great job. He did take the time to explain the components of my unit and the parts that could possibly need replacing first. My problem is with the company and I called them to let them know that, Amber even acknoledged it when I called back to complain. It is not professional to leave someone hanging. If you know there is a possible issue at a worksite that prevents your tech from making it to their next appointment timely, you are supposed to make the client aware. That did not happen my case. I did not have to leave work early for this appointment. They should have better communication with their clients. The service part of the whole situation worked out in the end. But I also have a schedule that was thrown off due to this, I had to leave and pick up my son and then come back to wait for the tech, then run my errands after he left my house. So in my opinion - they need to be a bit more customer centric. First impression is a lasting impression.

I saw the coupon Perfect Home Services listed on Angie's List for lining of plumbing pipes. I have been having issues with flooding in my building and called to inquire. I had already received a quote and plan to fix the flooding from another company. This company recommended I abandon the storm lines below the building and construct catch basins outside the building for the water to collect during periods of heavy rain. Tommy from Perfect Home Services came in and I showed him the places in the building where water was coming up through the floor during heavy rains. We were both aware that the city storm sewers back up when there is to much water in the system. When this occurs, water finds it's easiest path and that happened to be into my building. Tommy came back with a camera to see what was going on inside the pipes and said for sure he would be able to stop the flooding by lining the pipes and his number would be lower than the proposal from the other company. I agreed to have the work done for $29,985. They performed the work and after the first rain, we flooded. Called them out, they apologized and said they missed an area. The floors in my tenants preschool was ruined. Perfect Home Services agreed to replace the floor. Three days later, it rained again and we flooded. Called again and they came out. They originally thought they missed another spot, then discovered that the catch basin under the building where all the storm lines lead into was overflowing causing flooding. They told me they would send some more engineers out to take a look and figure out a solution. A week had passed and I had not heard anything from the company. When I called, I learned that Tommy and many other people had left the company. Mark now was in charge of the project. After lengthy discussions, they came up with another solution to break up the floor and sidewalk and install a pump to force the water out of the building. That was fine with me until they told me I had to pay for it. I refused. This was going to be another enormous expense. After talks with Mark, and getting the absentee owner involved, they took the stance that they had completed their job of lining the pipes and they would not come to perform any more work. They didn't replace the floor in the preschool. The building and the two tenants have been dropped from insurance because of the reoccurring flooding issues. I as the owner of the building am now stuck paying for the replacement of the floor and the original plumbing proposal to fix the issue. I have all of the paperwork stating the reason to perform the work was to end the storm water flooding in the building. They didn't do that and now I am forced to sue them in order to get money back from this company. The bottom line is they didn't know what they were doing. They thought that lining the pipes would solve the issue and they were wrong. Now they just left me with paying for their services that didn't solve the problem and will not return any of my money nor fix the problem. Really bad business.

The value was good. They said they would be coming over with in a 4 hour window. They didn't show up during that time window so I had to call to find out where they were. When they came out they weren't even equipped to do the job. So they had to come out a second time and gave me a time window, which they were late again. The camera that they used didn't show anything because the drain was so clogged. They said I needed to get other things done to get this unclogged and ended up costing me more money to get this addressed.

When I booked the appointment I briefly described my situation including the make and model of my furnace and was advised that the tech would have the parts on the truck making for a quick one visit repair. Tech arrived on time and was courteous. Explained that the fan was staying on and that the heat had stopped a few days earlier. I thought a clean and tune might be all that was needed. He agreed. Introduced him to the furnace showed him the code lights and asked if he knew what they meant. He didn't. Checked the furnace cover didn't find anything. He asked that I move the fan control out of automatic on the thermostat. I complied. He began cleaning and as I watched he began to loosen screws and remove parts and put them back. When I asked if he would some coffee or water he was totally alarmed that I had been standing there watching him. He did a nice job vacuuming... BUT ...the fan no longer functions...the code on the lights have changed ... when he presented an estimate for repair it was 4 estimates...the most expensive was almost the cost of a new furnace installed on sale and the lowest was less than half of the most expensive...and he advised that they don't carry parts for my furnace and would take a few days to get them ...the lowest estimate turned out to be more than $100 more than the subsequent estimate I received. I will probably continue to seek referral sources since this experience has shaken my confidence in this one.

We purchased a sewer rodding deal on Angie's List because we get roots in our sewer line which need to be cleared out periodically. I was very pleased with the service. Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for $49.00 from Angie's List for a maintenance checkup for my high efficiency forced air gas furnace. The technician did a fine job and also checked my humidifier which needed a new pad. He sold me a pad for their retail price of $46.00 and even told me it might be less expensive at a big box store but since I would not be able to get to one of those stores for quite a while, I purchased the filter pad and he installed it. Of course, the $49.00 was an incredible bargain as the usual cost is closer to $90. I still would be happy to use this company again.

One of the best Angie's List experiences I've had. The service was for our 7-unit condo building. Ben was on time and got to work right away. He invited me to watch while he worked and explained everything as he went. He was quick, friendly, and professional. At my request, he also took at look at some plumbing in my kitchen, diagnosed the problem, and gave me an estimate for that work. I will definitely schedule that appointment. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. And the pricing was great -- I got it through an Angie's Big Deal.

Had an Angie's List coupon for sewer televising and drain cleaning so decided to use it when our drain got slow. The individual that showed up to do the job was very pleasant but apparently didn't have all the equipment needed because another Perfect Home Services employee showed up soon after to bring something needed and to help out. They worked on the drain for some time and were able to get a very small cutter all the way to the main line in the street, apparently, but nothing larger. They were also unable to get the camera further than about 10 or 11 feet from the clean out, tho they believed they saw 2 breaks in the pipe within that distance. The cap for the clean out was apparently frozen in place so the workers had to bust it out and replaced it with a plastic cap with a gasket that tightens. Unfortunately, it turns out they used a cap that was a little too small; it was actually positioned to the inside of the pipe where the clean out was located. We found out, after the plumber had left, that they had apparently tried to get either the cutter or the camera to work better by going in thru a smaller cleanout a few feet from the large/main one. That cap was a plastic one with threads and when it was put back in it was left crossthreaded and started to leak. That is how we noticed it because that cleanout is overhead and not something we'd normally see when just walking around; once it started dripping we tried to figure out what was going on and found the problem. When the plumber left, he left us with an estimate for the work he thought would be needed to get our drain fully cleared out, which included installing an outside cleanout for quite a bit of money (thousands). They also suggested trenchless lining of the main sewer drain for many more thousands. Before acting on this we had someone else, a plumber we've used before, try to better clear the line and give us estimates on further work. These guys were able to clear the line with larger cutters all the way to the street with no problem and their estimates for similar future work were considerably less money. The second set of plumbers replaced the crossthreaded cap and put a new cap on the main cleanout that fit properly and didn't leak. We probably got our 79 bucks worth of rodding but are disappointed at the inability to get the camera thru the line. Based on the costs of the estimates for further plumbing work from Perfect Home Services, it is doubtful we'll be using them.

With my husband able to watch the inspection on a tv type unit, he explained what they were seeing. It showed cracks in the clay pipe, some minor root infiltration and an area where parts of a joint were gone and surrounding fill was visible. Gave us notice of repairs that should be done. Was very professional and when he came into our home even put booties over his shoes to keep our floors clean. Would recommend.
Description of Work: We had Perfect Home Services come out and with a camera, inspect our main sewer drain as we have been having clogs about every year and a half. We knew where the clog always was and wanted to view the area to see what we could do the fix or change that area so clogs wouldn't keep reoccuring. Jason came out and televised 100 feet of the drain. Due to the design of the drain joint, it was a repaired joint, he was not able to get to the point that we actually wanted to see. That was not his fault, it was our drains design. Our sewer line emptys into a manhole and he did not have a pvc pipe guide with an elbow to allow him to also insert the drain auger into the line so was not able to auger the line. But didn't matter as the line was not clogged at the time. Would advise any one using them to tell them if your line emptys into a manhole and requires a guide to get to the line. So he can bring what he needs to get to your line.

On the day of service, I received a phone call from dispatch giving me a rough idea of where my appointment fell on the day's schedule and I was then given a second call to let me know that the technician was on his way. Jason T. arrived and was very professional and completed the job efficiently. He went over the services that he performed and gave me some feedback on the type of filter that I should be using for my heater. All in all I was very pleased with my experience with Perfect Home Services and would recommend the company.
Description of Work: The service specialist from Perfect Home Services completed my annual furnace clean and check.

The technician arrived on time. Upon learning that we do not have a cleanout drain, he went to our basement and used the valve to the sewer line to do the inspection with the televising. He pointed out some deficiencies in the pipeline?including cracks and evidence of minor root growth. Since we don't have a cleanout drain, he wasn't able to perform the rodding and cleaning service. That was disappointing for me. I'm not a plumbing expert, so I was not aware that a front yard cleanout drain is necessary for this service, and I wish that was made more clear in the Big Deal coupon. He recommended that we install a cleanout drain in the front yard, along with a "no dig" sewer lining. The quote was extremely expensive ($15,000!). That just seems like too much, so I'm going to get some quotes from other companies before deciding which one to give my business to. As a side note: this is the second time I've used Perfect Home Services to address a potential need in my home, and while they get positive reviews, their prices seem very steep. I'm going to avoid them for the time being, which is a shame since they're a local company.
Description of Work: I purchased the $79 deal for the Sewer Rodding/Drain Cleaning with FREE Sewer Televising. The technician did the inspection with the televising, he was not able to perform the rodding and cleaning because we do not have a front yard cleanout drain.
