SHOWED UP ON TIME FOR QUOTE, THEY WERE ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR MY QUESTIONS AFTER QUOTE, ADDING SERVICES AT A FAIR PRICE WAS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE FINAL QUOTE. THEY CALLED TWO WEEKS BEFOR JOB WAS TO START ADVISED WHAT DATE AND TIME THEY WOULD BE THERE , WEATHER WILLING, AND AFFORDALE ROOFING SHOWED UP ON TIME AND IT TOOK TWO FULL DAYS TO DO THE WORK, JUST AS THEY ESTIMATED. EXCEPT FOR THE DUMPSTER YOU NEVER KNEW THEY WERE THERE THEY KEPT THE JOB SITE CLEAN AND CLEANED UP EVERYTHING AFTER THE 1ST DAY, SO WE COULD GET IN AND OUT OF THE HOUSE .THE SECOND DAY EVERYTHING WAS CLEANED UP.

They came out explained what they would be doing. Their diagnosis was correct and they did a wonderful job. Would recommend them to everyone.

Good service. They always showed up on time. They returned my calls in a timely manner. Price was higher than other quotes I got, but the service was excellent and the project was done correctly the first time, so it was worth it.

The work went very well. The contractor sent a double crew who arrived at 7:30 am and completed the roof replacement by 7:30 pm. During the morning of roof replacement we found out that a third bathroom fan did not have duct work and was not vented through the roof. The contractor obtained the need supplies and the installation of needed duct work and new roof vent was completed that day.

The team was incredibly responsive and professional. They showed us "before and after" pictures during the entire roofing process which was very helpful. Their services were top notch and their fees were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Affordable Roofing to anyone who needs work done on their roof. It was a very positive experience.

The owner who came for the estimate was right on time, very efficient and very good at explaining his company, their experience, the problem on my roof and what would be done to fix it. He surprised me when he said the company did not accept credit cards, but he explained that the three owners did not think it was fair to increase prices the three percent needed to pay the credit card company. I let him get out of the house without setting a date for the work--he said they'd call. I was planning to call one week after the estimate. Instead, they called early (7 a.m.) that morning to tell me they could work me into the schedule that day. I was amenable, and within an hour two trucks pulled up. The men were friendly and among the happiest workmen I have ever met. They let me know there were carpenter ants in the wood and applied bug killer (which I bought). Half way through, the general contractor showed up to check on the work and let me know that the work would be done by 3--and they finished an hour early. The work was done in one day and just before a spring rainstorm

I experienced water leaking in a family room with a cathedral ceiling. Tom came out and thoroughly checked the roof and attic. He determined the problem was due to condensation as the roof was in good shape. He made some recommendations for adjusting the humidifier. He also noted that a second floor skylight was improperly installed and made some recommendations for that. I had a good experience with Affordable Roofing. There was no unnecessary work proposed. Tom gave me the impression he was here to solve my problem not make money off me. I would use this company in the future and recommend them to anyone I know.

All things were done as prescribed.

Shingles had blown off the roof after a high wind storm. Our agent had stated that repair work and caulking were needed-probably around $500. Tom came out and inspected the roof. He told us that he had already caulked (before we told him) and the problem had been shingles that were not properly nailed down. He continued to thoroughly inspect our roof and stated everything looked great except for the one area. He came in half of the cost that our agent had quoted! Not only that, he is a nice, trustworthy man who enjoys what he does for a living. I will pass his name on to everyone I know!

Called to repair a leak that I thought was caused by a flashing issue. They did a complete inspection of the roof, quickly identified the source of the leak and required repairs (not the issue I suspected), as well as identified and repaired several other areas of concern as a preventive measure. Also cared for some cosmetic roof issues and minor siding and gutter issues. Removed an incorrectly installed exhaust fan and added appropriate ventilation. They were able to schedule an estimate within 3 days of my initial call, then completed the work within 2 weeks. It was almost a full days of work for 2 people, both of whom came out to do the original estimate. Appreciated that they were not trying to sell me a new roof and focused on taking care of my concern and potential issues.

We had Affordable come out to give us an estimate for a complete tear-off and re-roof. They were nice on the phone, accommodating when scheduling a time, and prompt in showing up for the estimate. I really liked the guy who came out and talked with us, he impressed us with his knowledge and attitude. Affordable has done houses all over our neighborhood, mostly historic houses like ours, and they look great. Its a big bonus for them that I can look out windows on three sides of my house and see their handiwork that looks so nice and our neighbors say is great. Really, the biggest reason we could not go with Affordable is that in the end, they weren't so affordable for us. I know that if we had chosen them, we would have gotten top quality work done right - but we just had to go with the company who quoted us several thousand less, and cross our fingers that everything turns out ok...

I called the company to schedule an appointment to have them inspect my roof and give me an estimate. Tom showed up on time and explained that houses as old as mine (7-8 years old) start experiencing leaks especially around the rubber gasket that surrounds the roof vent pipes. He climbed up on the roof and took some pictures of a vent pipe that I suspected was the cause of the leak, then he proceeded to inspect the rest of the roof for any potential problems. He found a crack in the seal around the suspect vent pipe and caulked it thoroughly. He then caulked around a few other problem areas of the roof. When he climbed down, he showed me the pictures of the crack in the rubber gasket and explained that the rubber starts to shrink and crack after several years. I asked him how much I owed him and he refused to take any payment despite my insistence. I would definitely use Affordable Roofing again and would recommend them for your roofing needs. I was pleasantly surprised!

Absolutely stellar service. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. From the first phone call to the finish this company was one of the best contractors I've ever worked with.

I thought that they were knowledgeable in their work with the roof. They are also very thorough in what they were doing for us. They recommended the least expensive way of doing things, even though another way could have made him more money.

Through our untrained eyes, we could tell we had a major problems. The roof was actually sagging in spots, we knew we had problems with proper roof ventilation & found a chronic leak in one bedroom. We had heard about Affordable Roofing through a friend who had used them years ago to solve some serious roofing issues on their home. The friend had raved about the quality of their work, their knowledge, & their professionalism. I called Affordable Roofing just to ask for some advice & a referral for my area (as they are out of my service area). One of the owners of Affordable Roofing, Bill Wade, came to my aid. He came to our home and personally addressed the problems we were having with such knowledge and expertise that we trusted him instantly. He offered the services of Affordable Roofing to complete the work we desperately needed. He worked in tandem with our insurance company to be sure the work we needed was a part of our coverage. In fact our insurance company was so impressed with Mr. Wade that they asked him if he would help them as their representative as they work with some of their claims. I must interject something very important here. There are many roofing companies calling themselves "Affordable Roofing". But there is only one Affordable Roofing as far as we are concerned. Make sure you are dealing with Affordable Roofing in business since 1980 & based in Aurora, Illinois. We had some trouble finding the correct Affordable Roofing. Ask to see the list of customers that this company has serviced commercially & residentially. It is an impressive list indeed. Mr. Wade addressed the level of insulation in our attic & made recommendations, corrected the ventilation problems, & solved a chronic leak in one of our roof's valleys. While this situation was taking place, my husband was working out of state and was only home a few days a month. I will never be able to tell you how my husband and I appreciated the attention Mr. Wade gave our home & our concerns. He would communicate with my husband and relay information regarding the repair needed and the efforts with the insurance company. You don't find this kind of service in the typical business world. The crew members of Affordable Roofing were a great team. They completed the work just as Mr. Wade had promised. Mr. Wade even made a trip to check on the progress as the roof was being replaced. Affordable's crew treated our home & vegetation with great care. They left all of the yard in pristine shape removing all the old roof debris. This was a great service. We highly recommend Affordable Roofing!!

Great! I called on a Monday and we scheduled service on Thursday. I received a follow up call the day before to confirm our appointment, very professional in the way they handled the appointment. Tom came out and checked my roof and found 2 areas that needed to be fixed. He needed to put more flashing down in one area that didn't have it, and then he caulked the other problem area. Explained everything in detail, took pictures of the problem areas so he could show me without having to climb up on my roof. The best part was he didn't charge for the work. I offered to pay, but he said it wasn't a big deal and he could knock it out in 30 minutes. Did a great job, and will definitely use if I have any roofing problems in the future.

Called the company, set an appointment. The appointment was set for the day after the call. Mike came ---on time. Looked at the project. Gave me advise---which was--didn't need roof at the time. Mike also gave me information on other companies for additional work I needed completed. He was pleasant and professional.

Tom arrived right on time. He took a look at the damage, gave an estimate to repair it that day, then started work. In 2 hours from the time he arrived, he had the repairs complete, the damaged shingles cleaned up, and fixed a small leak around the chimney. He was professional, polite, and explained everything he was doing. I will definitely use them again, and tell anyone who needs service on their roof to first check Angie's List, then go with Affordable Roofing.

The gentleman that came to provide the estimate was professional and thorough. They sent a formal estimate. They took pictures on the roof and shared those pictures with me to show what needed to be done. They added extra value by identifying a few other things that needed done as well. They executed the job very well on the day it was scheduled and cleaned up very well after themselves.

I was very pleased. Not only was he there on time (even early) but he was able to fix the problem easily. He was very professional and not looking to gouge me for money. I will definitely use this company in the future with any roofing needs.

They did a good job! They are prompt and very efficient. They clean up very well after, which is important.

Up until that point, we were happy with this company and they were definitely in the running for the job however, they never called back with a bid. When I contacted them about it and left a message, they did not return my call and never gave us any explanation for the sudden turn around. One week they leave their materials, even coming out in the middle of a thunderstorm to do so and the next week they don't even contact us to let us know the status? We weren't happy, needless to say.

The repair of the roof was scheduled within 24 hours of my request. The repairman arrived on time and completed the repair within 30 minutes. Everyone I delt with was curteous, understanding, knowledgeable and helpful. All in all a very satisfactory experience and positive result.

First off, the roof looks great and works great. That being said: I spoke with the office a couple times about the timing and the colors of roof and gutters and then scheduled the chimney person right before. The day after the chimney repair no roofers showed up. Turns out they were coming late the following week (?) which ended up overlapping with our floors being refinished. Awkward, but it worked out. Hanging the gutters it was pointed out that one tree was too close and could cut they cut it back. I didn't quite realize the ramifications and now the left half of the two story tree is still sitting in a large pile in our yard awaiting brush pick-up five weeks later. The tree had issues before, I'll grant that, the issues have now become more interesting. Finally, the porch roof repair must have involved changing the slope because now between the porch roof and the siding is gap up to a couple inches that looks like a hole. There's black flashing in there but it looks like a hole.

Mike Hess came out on time to assess the project and prepare an estimate. He provided a written estimate/contract, and did so promptly and in good detail. He also provided me written proof of insurance and workers' compensation documents. The repair team arrived as scheduled, were very polite and knowledgeable, and did all of the repairs in a quality fashion. They also addressed other issues that they discovered during the repair. They cleaned up every bit of material either removed from the house or created during their repairs. Affordable Roofing is professional, dependable, and does very high quality work. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.
