I have used this florist many times--from homecoming and prom corsages to birthday and funeral arrangements. They usually deliver high quality work, and I have received many compliments over the years. That being said, I prefer to use them for pick up than for delivery, for the following reason. Last Christmas, I wanted to send special arrangements to several friends. I walked into the store to make choices for each family. Sylvia's provided blank Christmas cards, so I wrote personalized notes. I then made sure that each note went with the proper arrangement, paid my bill, and left.  A couple of days later, a delivery guy showed up at my door with an arrangement for one of my neighbors. It was actually the bouquet I had ordered for friends next door. I laughed but accepted it, knowing that when my neighbor came home, I could go next door. It was then that I realized there was NO Card on the arrangement. I called the shop to discover that the arrangements were sent out without any sort of message identifying who sent the gift. The woman helping me was able to discover that two of the cards had gotten wet and were destroyed, and that the other two may have been left sitting somewhere in the store. Bottom line is that at least two of my recipients had no idea who had sent the flowers. I was able to tell my neighbor, and another one of my friends, as well. But one family probably still doesn't know who their "secret admirer" was. They never said a word to me and I was a little embarrased to ask if they had received my flowers. All Sylvia's had to do was to call the recipients and explain what happened, but they did nothing. Just said, "sorry" to me. I may use them agai, because I like their work, but I still get angry when I think about their "Whoops, sorry" attitude with no effort to make it right.

Not only did they miss the specifications the subtle inside joke was missed creating additional stress between family members. The second piece (no theme) contained a large Cub logo so as to seemingly stand in competition with the primary piece. The immediate family was insulted throwing the Cub logo into a corner. We of course explained what we were trying to do and everyone agreed that the concept was great but the florist just blew it. I stopped by and discussed this with Rich the consultant more curious than anything about what they proposed to do about it. They proposed to do nothing. They created a stressful situation at a time when the floral pieces should have a beautiful and calming effect. In my view it happened because they are artistically inclined to give you what they think you should have rather that what you ordered. Clearly talking about a baseball rivalry to this florist was a mistake on my part. very disappointed that no effort was made to stand behind the work.
If its simple flowers great anything complex go somewhere else.

This is a beautiful store filled with gorgeous flowers and gifts. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would go there much more often if the prices were a bit lower. If you're looking for something very special, this is the place to go!

The service is always good; prompt and knowledgeable. They make suggestions when I've been undecided about a purchase. The shop is a pleasure to walk through.
