Ibbotson Heating & Air Conditioning Company, located in Arlington Heights, Illinois, is a family-owned and operated heating and cooling business that has served the Northwest Suburban Chicago for over 74 years. Founded in a small barn, located in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, by brothers Ralph and Arthur Ibbotson in 1946, Ibbotson Heating & Air Conditioning Company consisted of one employee and a Chevy station wagon. Second generation partners Ralph Ibbotson Jr., (Son of Ralph Sr.) and the late John R. Kelly (Son-In-Law of Art) took the company and grew it from a small operation to the most dependable and reliable heating and cooling company in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Now Ibbotson Heating and Cooling is in its third generation With Ralph Ibbotson Jr., still a current owner along with partner Rich Okolita (Son-In-Law of John) and Rich's wife Jacqueline (daughter of John) who is installation/sales manager. Ralph’s son, Gregory is the NATE-certified service manager; son-in-law Brian is one of the NATE-certified salesman, daughter Joanna is the accountant, and daughter-in-law Kimberly is the service administrative assistant. Ibbotson Heating & Air Conditioning Company maintains a highly-trained staff of NATE-certified service technicians and is up-to-date on the latest high-efficient air conditioning and heating technologies. Ibbotson's goal is to provide high-quality service and installation. Ibbotson Heating & Air Conditioning Company is proud to be a Lennox Premier Dealer (Lennox’s highest dealer rating). Ibbotson was one of 6 A/C companies I got estimates from. Their representative came to the house when he said he would and I received his estimate quickly. Even after I added some items to their estimate they were still below the next bid and the A/C unit they installed was as good or better than the others. Their installers were here on time each day and left my house as clean as they found it. They were very helpful and explained what they found and what they were doing as they went along.

The initial estimate was given at the first meeting which was the day after I called. The work was done the next week so the entire process took less than a week. The workman were easy to have in the house, were considerate, and left the house in excellent shape. Of course the furnace is doing a good job also !

Excellent and beautiful work. Cleaned up well. Took everything away with them. I did have to call them back to tweak the furnace. They came out and got it working perfectly at no charge. Really nice people. They haven't been back since the install two years ago.

Called for an estimate, explained that I have an old house and that everything needed to be brought to code. I called for other estimates over the phone but they (Rich) were the only ones who were willing to estimate a price range over and above a standard installation. He estimated that I wouldn't incur any more than $100 over normal charges and actual bill was only $57.50 more. Estimate was accurate, agreed upon installation date and time were met, the installer was polite and professional, the job site was left clean and operation was fully explained to me. I was given a feeling of confidence from beginning to end. Their job price was $100 lower than an on site estimate from another company. They provided the service and product as advertised and agreed upon.

They were really good as far as I could tell. I wasn't right there when they were installing everything, but they were professional when they came out. They gave us a good quote and stuck with the price in the end. Everything worked out fine and they even made sure everything on some other little things were working properly in the process.

Our old furnace can get temperamental and these guys know how to handle it. This time around, they could have very well said we needed a new one, but no, they took the honest route and told us we simply needed to change out the valves.

I called on Monday and they were out on Tuesday to talk about the project and give a price. They came out on Wednesday, the next day, and did the installation. They have done other work for me in the past, and I have always been happy.

Ibbotson has been repairing and servicing my 15 year old furnace for the past 13 years.I called Ibbotson and spoke with Rich in sales, to arrange an appointment for the new furnace.He came out within 2 days and I signed the contract,due to their fine reputation.We scheduled the installation for 2 weeks from the signing of the contract.Mike and Dave arrived promptly at 8:30a.m.on the scheduled day and worked to remove the old units and install the new ones.The work was completed in 1 1/2 days. Mike was one of the nicest installers I have ever dealt with.Dave was even patient with my nosy neighbor who planted himself outside near the air conditioner to bend his ear. They made sure to clean up any mess, and Mike instructed me on the workings of my new furnace and air conditioner. The furnace is really sleek looking and a whole lot smaller than the old one.I am thrilled with Ibbotson and will always use them for my Heating & A/C needs!

Ibbotson Heating Company sends a card each spring to remind us that we need our furnace inspected. This is nice because then I don't have to remember it or mark it on the calendar. Everyone who has come here has been respectful and timely. Another good thing they do is wear booties or take their shoes off so they don't track.

A pipe for my air conditioning unit was leaking in my basement. I called Ibbotson in the morning and they came out that afternoon to fix the pipe. The technician cleared the restriction in the pipe to stop the leaking.

They arrived promptly, notified us when they would be shutting off the water, and performed the work in a routine matter. The service technician spent a few minutes showing and recommending when and how to adjust the temperature, as well as re-lighting procedures. We've had no incidents or complaints about the work or quality of materials. They left our place clean and removed the old heater in their vehicle.

I received several quotes to replace my existing furnace and air conditioner. I awarded the job to Ibbotson because their quote was the best value for me, and they had been repairing and maintaining my approx. 25-year old system for the past 10+ years. Rob and Greg (or Craig?) arrived promptly on the scheduled day and worked professionally and quickly to remove the old units and install the new ones. They completed the work in less than 2 days. They constantly cleaned up after themselves. The quality of the work is excellent. They ensured that the new system didn't take up any unnecessary space in my basement by keeping vents and drain tubes high and together, allowing me to gain additional storage space in my basement. Upon completion of the job, they explained how the new thermostat & furnace/air conditioner system work and gave me a recommended maintenance schedule. They were very friendly toward my 92-yr old mother. On top of that, Mr.Ibbotson stopped by personally to meet us.

Workmen showed up on time and were very friendly. The system needed an additional pump, that had not been on the estimate, but as this was something the salesman "should have" known about, they provided that for no additional cost. They did a very good job with locating the vent pipes. I had been concerned of having to partially block a window, and was pleasantly surprised to see the way they tucked them up and out of the way. They also did a nice job with a new pipe, that traversed the basement through three rooms. There were two minor issues with this job. First off was a bit of miscommunication that resulted in my not being there when they finished. As a result I wasn't there to learn what all the new valves and shut-offs were for! The second issue was the flexible tube for water drainage -- installed so twisted up toward the end that it doesn't seem to drain well. Easily fixed by cutting lose and re-attaching with zip-ties, but an odd oversight for otherwise fine work.

The installers were on the job on the date and time agreed upon for both visits. The job was performed professionally and in one day each time. The work was excellent and the work areas were left neat and clean each time. I am extremely pleased with the service and price. I would highly recommend using Ibbotson.

Ibbotson returned my call quickly and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. Appointments for the same day were available. The tech showed up right on time and performed the work in one hour start to finish. Very knowledgeable, friendly and did quality work. I would definitely use them again.
