The sales person we spoke to to buy the furniture was confused and appeared to not know what they were doing. I paid cash and they kept asking me to finance the furniture (I told the sales person 4 times that I do not want to finance). When negotiating price sales person frequently left and talked to her boss to see what was going on and if it was ok. It took 2 hours to buy the furniture. I asked the sales person if they were new, they said no been there several years. Sales person kept adding items onto bill without our approval (items such as a mattress pad cover) and she said that was the only way to reduce the price of the product. Sales person did a poor job at explaining what was going on. Only reason we stayed was due to the sale going on. The only thing that went well was the delivery of furniture.
Description of Work: Purchased King Mattress, box spring, bed frame, two side tables and dresser.

Description of Work: I was looking to buy a swivel rocker recliner for my bedroom. My salesman was informative, helpful and friendly. He pointed me to the chairs in my price range and made sure that they qualified for the 2-for-1 sale. He also helped me select a beautiful office chair. Once the selection was made, it took about 10 minutes to check out. The delivery was set for 1 week and I was called 2 days in advance with the 4 hour window. The delivery was on time and done with care. It was an easy and seamless transaction and I got some beautiful furniture at good prices without getting the hard sell or, worse, ignored when I needed assistance.

I had nothing but problems with the purchase I made. They would not return the money and they were not willing to help with anything.

I gave this info above. Ashley should unwrap their furniture before they bring it into your house.
Description of Work: My daughter bought furniture from the Ashley Furniture Store in Joliet early this month. She had an enjoyable experience at the store and commented that she really like Ashley Furniture. The experience went downhill from there. She was given a delivery time of between 2 and 6 on Monday, December 10th. Since she works I went to her house to await the delivery of the furniture. About 5pm she received a phone call and was told that the truck broke down and the delivery could be 2 hours late. Okay, these things happen so I continued to wait. At approximately 7:45 the truck pulled up. I have had plenty of furniture delivered over the years (mostly from Darvin) and they take the packing off the furniture in the truck. Not Ashley and I'm thinking the reason is because these are independent delivery guys and if there is any damage to the furniture it is up to them to pay. (I was told this by an Ashley delivery truck driver who delivered to my house). I was not impressed with how they were dragging this packaging across my daughters wood floors and told them to be careful. He said "I know". The couch consisted of a couch and chaise. The couch didn't have a hole for one of the legs so the driver reluctantly took the couch out. Now they are running late and obviously in a hurry. Wasn't impress and asked not to have them as delivery people. Oh, also, the tv stand was not delivered. My daughter asked for the second delivery to be in the morning and was told they had no control overr this. So again yesterday, December 14th we are waiting on furniture. We are told the deliver would be between 2:45 and 6:45. They came around 6:30 or 7:pm and had the tv stand but not the couch. Instead they brought the chaise that we already had. Customer service seems to be a problem. They have waived the delivery fee but come on, after all this can't we have a delivery time that is condusive to our needs.

It was wonderful. They were friendly, extremely careful on delivery. They put covers over their shoes. They were very accommodating with appointment times.
Description of Work: They sold, delivered and put together and entertainment center for my living room.
