Our plumbers are highly trained and skilled craftsmen. They have the best equipment available to perform the job quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, this sometimes leaves customers like yourself feeling that they somehow received a lesser value. Quality Plumbing Services provides customers with the highest level of service available. However, that level of service comes at a price. We have found our pricing is equal or less than the industry standard not only for our area, but compared to many companies providing a lower level of quality and service than we do. I would like to point out that all of our pricing is provided upfront and comes out of a price book. Our price book is the same throughout our entire service area. We do not have separate pricing for the City of Chicago. However, the cost and expense involved to operate a plumbing company can vary greatly based on your geographic area. We were real happy with him, but I was afraid I would have to have the water heater replaced. The cost was really minimal. As far as whether or not it was market value or that service I could not tell you. They could have easily taken me to the cleaners no knowing any better. I would be inclined to call them back when it needs the next service. I was not appalled at the price. I have had other people come to the house in my absence. I kind of picked his brain a little bit about a tankless water heater. He is not a fan of it and he told me why. It is the first answer I have ever gotten from anybody that makes any sense. Two guys came out in case they actually had to remove a water heater.

We thank you for recognizing the good service we provided and quality products we offer. All of our pricing is given upfront from a price book and is based on the job performed. Keep in mind when you compare online pricing, these prices may not include items such as tax and shipping. Also with ordering online - what type of warranty comes with the product, and how is any warranty work provided, or does the unit need to be shipped back to the place of purchase? Also, are you getting all the same components that Quality Plumbing Services provides? Our Sumpro system comes with charging head, battery box, as well as two deep cycle maintenance free marine batteries and a Sumpro stand. Most online systems offer lesser quality batteries and do not include the Sumpro stand. To be fair, when the unit arrives at your door there is a little more work to do other than just plugging in the Sumpro. First, you have to carry the components including a 60 lb. charging head and 70 lb. (each) batteries into your basement. We assemble the stand, set-up the unit, and properly connect the batteries in series. While we know its not rocket science, we are professionals who have installed many, many Sumpro systems. While some DIYr's might be fully capable of handling this project, not everyone can. Just some things to consider when comparing prices on-line. In the morning the heater was leaking badly so I shut it off and commenced draining while my wife called Quality. They were able to come in two hours and had the heater on the truck. I say "they" but it was one young man, very polite, very neat, very professional.
He removed the old unit and cleaned the floor afterward.
I have seen complaints about price in these reviews and it is true that their price was about $300 more than other plumbers, but it included their own company parts and labor warranty for ten years on all parts, not just the tank. I think $30 a year is very reasonable.
Four months later we smelled gas in the area and called them. They said it was covered by the warranty if their unit was the cause but otherwise there would be a service charge. I agreed. they came promptly, two plumbers with a gas sniffing device. The fault was not the water heater but the neighboring furnace that another company had worked on in December (fall cleaning). They tightened the pipes leading into the furnace (which i remember the furnace guy taking off for access) which solved the problem. Although I owed them for the call, they said there would be no charge. They would list it as a customer courtesy. They probably saved us from a house fire.
We are thinking of converting a bathtub to a shower. We will definitely contact them for the plumbing if we go ahead. I am very confident in their honesty, skill and professionalism. Getting the lowest bid gets you the cheapest work. It seldom is worth it.

Our plumbers are licensed, bonded and insured journeymen plumbers that have gone through background checks and random drug testing. With all that being said, we cannot compete on price with handymen or a single plumber working out of his home in a van. I heard a strange noise in my basement and realized that my sump pump was not working. I unplugged the unit and immediately called Quality Plumbing since I noticed they are available 24/7. The individual on the phone took down my story and took my service call payment of $159.95 over the phone. He indicated that someone would be at my home in 90 minutes maybe less.
The guy showed up in about an hour and was done within one hour of his arrival. They were very professional and cleaned up the work area once they were finished. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and professionalism. I would definitely use them again.
