Speedy Windows

Ken is a solo proprietor/worker that guarantees his work; that has been in business since 1996. It is obvious that he has developed a successful "customer-first" business. He is even coming back to touch up any affected exterior windows if there is a storm within a week. He is a pleasant hard working family man. We signed up for his twice a year program and received a discount. Because he owns the business and does all of his own work himself; he pays attention to detail, works hard, and is very thorough. He gave me an estimate over the phone and the final price even though I added statement of work; was still within the price range of the estimate. He also did extra work and I wasn't charged.

I waited at my home and Ken did not come to the first appointment.  I called him and made arrangements for another time.  Unfortunately I was not able to be there for this appointment and left the door open for him.  When I came home after the work was completed I found the screens were not thoroughly cleaned and one screen on an 8 foot slider had not been cleaned at all, Two of the interior blinds would not close (one was tangled in knots and the other was snapped off the runner.    I called Ken on June 7th and said I was very surprised at the poor quality of the work and he explained he hired some people that probably need  further training.  He said he would come to review the work in about an hour.  I expressed concern about the time and explained I had a family member who had surgery and I needed to get to the hospital, but did agree to.wait so we could review my concerns.  I waited at my home for two hours.  I called Ken  and explained I could not wait any longer and he apologized explaining he was still on another job.  I then called Ken June 10 and we arranged for him to come to my home after 3PM June 12.  I advised him I would have a family member there and expressed concern about the problems with meeting with him previously.  He assured me he would be to my home as soon as he could get there after 3.  I called Ken tonight at 7:30 PM when he did not arrive.  He did not remember he had made an appointment to meet with me.  He was defensive and argumentative.  He said he does not clean the runners on the windows and dismissed my concerns about the amount of my time it has taken to have the job done and the time it has taken to have him come out and review the poor quality of the work performed.  I requested he refund part of what I paid.  He continued to be rude and defensive.  His approach to business and relationships with his client base has changed dramatically over the last two years.  I would not recommend anyone hire this young man.  I wish I had taken a friend's advise and canceled the check,  but I wanted to be fair. 

They come out routinely probably every six months. I spend $45 on them. They do a great job. I will continue to use them in the future.
