Lowe's - Meridian

Upon delivery of my new gas range, the installation team informed me that they could not remove or install gas ranges due to liability.  With the many phone calls I had gotten from Lowe's before deliver, I was NEVER informed of this fact. So, I am stuck with an old range in my kitchen and  a new range in my entryway.  The manager of the store tried to get someone to come out and install it, but not for 4 days, which, of course, in unacceptable.  I hired a plumber myself who will be here in 2 hours to do the install.  I've learned my lesson.  Go to a local appliance company next time!  Any extra cost with going to a local business is worth it.  Oh, and don't buy anything from Lowe's that requires more than a simple plug to install.  They won't do it, and won't tell you if they can't.  

We tried to purchase attic insulation from the Eagle/Ustick store that was listed for $12/bale (normally $36/bale), but they had just sold out.  We went to the Boise store (near Edwards), and were told they wouldn't price match, and the manager was extremely rude.  Due to his rudeness, we decided to buy our insulation at the Meridian store (Overland and Meridian Rd.).
We asked for a price match at the Meridian store, and the manager gave it to us without hesitation.  The manager and the cashier were extremely friendly and helpful.  They made us feel great, which wasn't easy to do after the horrible experience we'd had at the other store.
We will be shopping at this location every time.  It is definitely worth the drive.  Thank you Meridian Lowe's!

On install day the guy came on time.  He lifted part of the carpet then unpacked one of the hardwood boxes.  After ripping off the whole  carpet the installer then tells me "We can't proceed.  The hardwood you need is a floating one.  You have concrete under the carpet."
  This really sucks.  I went to lowe's floor department.  I did not know anything about hard wood install.  If I did I would have not paid $1,000 for installation.   I expect Lowe's to hire a professional just like what they advertise.  I expect that professional to check.  I expect the sales person to guide me in choosing the type of wood.  I expect the "professional installer" to know what is under the carpet when he lifted it up before ripping the whole thing off the floor.  
The good thing is Lowe's agreed to replace the carpet and agreed for a refund.  It could have been worse I guess.  
Lesson learned.  No more big box stores for remodels.
