Dannar Country Furniture

For several years i had been searching for a farm hutch for our small kitchen. We needed a hutch of a specific width and everything i found was either too wide, too ugly or too expensive or Chinese-made junk. Seriously - i searched antique stores, craig's list, second hand stores, garage sales, estate sales and furniture stores from discount to high end to no avail. While in a favorite store in Snohomish (The Cinnamon Stik/Country Cupboard) last year i saw it. - the hutch of my dreams only it was too big and too black. I asked the store manager if that hutch came in other sizes and colores. She told me that they could be custom ordered and gave me Dannar Country Furniture's card. She also let me know that he was out of state and made deliveries in the spring. That was OK with me - after years of searching i was willing to wait a few months longer. I went home and found the web site and "my hutch" (which is actually called a two piece stepback) in a beautiful green and e-mailed Lonny Dannar (Owner and Craftsman) right away. His response was really fast. I wanted a bit different dimension and he quoted me an upgrade price which i found very reasonable. I went back to the Cinnamon Stik a couple of days later and placed my order with Maralee Gibson (store Owner) at the end of December. Yesterday, it arrived and i am over the moon about it - it was SOOOOOO worth the wait!! Mr. Dannar handcrafts his furniture, it is truly built to LAST and, in my opinion, it really is heirloom quality. Mr. Dannar is also a lovely gentleman and has been a pleasure to work with. If you are looking for amazing craftsmanship and a piece worth waiting for, you have found it in Dannar Country Furniture. BE AWARE - Mr. Dannar is a one-man show. Be prepared to wait several months for a custom order. The Cinnamoon does carry some of his pieces.
