Horrible experience with incredible ineptitude on the part of the manager and the owner of Smith's Lawnmowers. Because I wanted to use a local business I missed some important work around my farm and DR missed out on a $4000 sale. Smith's lawnmower evidently got saddled with the equipment that I ordered in March, that FINALLY ordered in June and that was finally delivered in August. I would NEVER do business with these people again because they have no concept of how to listen to a customer, act on a customer order and deliver that order in a timely manner.
Description of Work: I wanted to use a local company when ordering $4000 worth of DR equipment. I had the prices, the inventory numbers and I'd even applied for and been approved for the DR credit card . All Smith's had to do was order the equipment, set it up and deliver it in working order to my place. I ordered the equipment in March because I needed it for spring work around my farm. Smiths Lawnmower was provided with all the relevant information as well as the credit card number to charge the total amount - a bit over $4000. First, the manager said they couldn't accept the card even though they were listed as authorized sellers of DR equipment. Then he said it would cost the company something like $300 to accept the card and that charge would be added on to my bill. (I told them no it wouldn't.) FInally they decided they might could possibly be able to accept the card and ordered the equipment - in JUNE!. I kept calling and couldn't get an answer about when the equipment would be delivered. There was no explaination of why it was taking so long or what they were doing to follow up on getting the equipment in a timely matter. Finally in August I was told the equipment was coming in and could be delivered before September 1st and at the end of the season when I would have been using it. Since the equipment still wasn't in their hands and it would still be three or four weeks, I canceled and told them in detail WHY I wasn't going to deal with their company or take delivery of the equipment that had been ordered in March. Lousy service, Lousy follow up and all around horrible lack of any business sense. I talked to the owner who called me to find out why after all these months I canceled, and he wanted to know what he'd done wrong! Really!
