Installers did a great job. Showed up early to get the job done and picked up everything beside they left. Brian stopped by near the end of the installation to make sure installers did everything to his high expectations. I love my door and am going to call them again for the second exterior door!

Horrible. 8 years later still having issues. Water leaking into house from window casing. Seals broken. Owner refuses to stand behind his product.

Good. The subcontractor that installed it was very nice. I think I may have rushed him as I had to leave for work.

Mid-summer we had 18 windows installed on our 2 story house. We had numerous problems with not only the order and sub-contractor, but also the owner. Our original window order was incorrect and did not have the right screens (we ordered full screens and they sent half screens), which that was no big deal. The issues that we did have was when we initially met with the gentleman for an estimate, he stated that they put tarps down under the windows and will clean everything up. That was not the case! I am still finding nails and caulk strips on the ground. I have small children and they found several of the nails, as well as our dog. The installer also parked in our driveway and his truck was leaking a lot of oil, that now we have an oil spot in our driveway that we can't get rid of. The sub-contractor also dented our siding with his ladder and has not repaired it. I called the company several times to speak with "Brian", but he would not return my phone calls. Finally I had to have my husband call and he spoke to him right away. Brian dropped off the screens, but there has been nothing regarding our siding that has two large equal dents right below our upper window. I would not recommend them at all! I like giving my business to the mom and pop stores, but this has been a customer experience nightmare. Buyer beware!

Larry was great. He was professional and detailed. He gave us a detailed quote for replacing the windows and two doors in our house. He talked through different options and broke down all the costs in an easily understandable way. We are still shopping around for windows and doors, but Ideal is definitely on the top of the list.

They were prompt and they came out when we requested them to. They did the replacements that we needed to have done; they were pretty easy to work with. They charged only for the labor; there was no cost for the windows because they were under warranty. Their work was fine and the windows were okay. If we had to have these windows repaired we will use them but if we have to get them replaced, we would probably do a different brand.

I would never call these people again

The president came out to give us the estimate and did a good job explaining everything.  The price was very competitive and we signed the contract.  The call came that the windows arrived and an installation date was setup.  The day arrived and 4 men efficiently removed the old windows and meticulously installed the new windows.  Everything was cleaned up and they left.  They have since arranged for the staining of the unstained portion of the windows.  I was very concerned after reading some of the experiences some have had with Ideal but I found them to be very professional in all aspects of the project.

They did really good work. They were in and out quickly. All 5 windows took about 5 hours. There wasn't really a head foreman so nobody really came to the door and said hi this is the work we are going to do. It was like a bunch of guys got dropped off and starting working and nobody knew. I asked them who I paid at the end of the day and they didn't know so they said somebody would call. They knew what was going on but I didn't. They were the cheapest and it was just windows in an unfinished basement. I would recommend them if you are looking just for somebody to get the job done at a good price but if you want more personalized and organized, probably not. They were good at answering my calls and giving me a quote. I would probably use them again.

We selected from a variety of new doors and got a beautiful new entryway. They removed the old doors, rebuilt the doorway and installed the new door, window and our storm door. Workmanship was superb and the door itself is beautiful and very weather tight.

Very happy with the final results.  The house looks great.  All work was done professionally and in good time.  The price was a little higher than we wanted to spend, but we got what we paid for, good quality.

Ordered 16 windows for one house and two for another. The salesman was nice but the installers put one window in wrong, scratched the side of it bad enough to need replacing and today 8/2/12 I am still waiting for it to be done. I would buy from them again but hold payment until all work is complete. I did pay them in full.

I was very pleased.  I bought the windows Brian recommended, and they have worked wonderfully for me.  I installed them myself, and Brian gave me some good advice and pointers about what kind of windows to buy and how to install them.  The windows have performed flawlessly.  They insulate very well and do an excellent job blocking sunlight.  I am very pleased with both the windows (MI brand) and the helpful information I got from them.

We hired Ideal Window in the spring of 2010 to replace a large picture window,  front door with side lights, and windows in the basement. The owner came out to give us an estimate and we were satisfied with his service and the quote we were given. The installers showed up on the first day and reviewed what was to be done. We immediately discovered that the replacement of our storm door was not on the list. They called the office and had someone deliver the door. When I came home in the afternoon to check on the progress, I noticed that the picture  window being installed was smaller than the opening on the inside of my home. I asked the installers how the difference in size would be addressed and they assured me they would fill in with wood support, insulate, and trim over the opening. Part of the trim work was done and pieces were spliced together giving it a very sloppy look. I made a list of things I wanted addressed the following day. The installers showed up the following day to finish the project and as soon as I arrived home that afternoon, they asked me to sign off on the work before I had gotten a chance to look things over. At first glance, everything seemed to be ok. They did a poor job of cleaning up and left me with a mess inside and outside my house. After a couple of months had passed and the weather turned cooler, we notices a significant draft coming from the area around the picture window. We called Ideal and asked them to come back out because something was obviously wrong.
Since they were willing to come fix the problem and because of the pricing they offered we, at that time, ordered 2 double hung windows to be replaced. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked the issues we were having  up to a poor employee; it can happen to anyone.
The first person showed up to address the draft as well as other issues we discovered (nail holes that were not filled, nail holes that were filled and then wiped with dirty hands leaving stains, damaged trim work around the basement windows). When he removed the trim work around the picture window. We found that there was NO insulation behind the trim so you could virtually see straight outside in some areas. He spray foamed around the window and then replaced the trim work. He spliced pieces of trim and didn't use the proper cutting device for angles so we were left with a sloppy mess. We called Ideal again to report our dissatisfaction and were told that the issues would be addressed when the other two windows were being installed.
Yet another installer showed up to install the two additional windows we purchased as well as fix the errors from the two installers before him. This person replaced the damaged trim work around the basement window, installed the two double hung windows, and fixed the trim work around the picture window.
Now that more time has passed since the work was done, we have noticed that the incorrect caulk was used on the outside of our house and it is now discolored from the weather. There are several spots on our front door where the paint has chipped/scratched off and the seals around the windows on the sidelights are discoloring/weathering poorly. 
I have learned that Ideal did not employ the various employees who worked at my house but subcontracted their services. Because of this, I would have to assume that I did not get service from an experienced window/door installer but from a "jack of all trades" type person.  I have not recently contacted Ideal about the issues were are having. After having so many of their "employees" come to fix what should have been done right the first go round, I've decided we'll just live with what we've got.
Overall, this experience was not a good one and it has made me very cautious about hiring out other projects around the house.

Everything looks nice.  They arrived on time and cleaned up well.
