He thought was Potomac Horse Fever. He treated and mare made full recovery. Also, used him for other things in the past.

Over 9 years developed a really good relationship with Jim. My horse has a lameness problem and with me being a nurse, many times could adjust meds over the phone. Jim also knows most of the local farriers and due to this he could talk with my farrier and they could make adjustments by phone calls.Very personable. The only bad thing I could say was that sometimes he would lack puntuality, but I understand that, as he works alone and it is difficult to pin down a time due to this. Refered me to Ames when my horse needed surgery and knew the vets there and they knew him so follow-up of surgery went well. I was able to ride my horse, despite his navicular problem, long after he was diagnosed due to appropriate med management, good communication with my farrier for a good 7 years after his diagnosis. Was helpful in finding a new home for him after his riding days were done. Now is a therapy horse for people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Was available within 1 hour when emergencies(colic) arose, and treated horses so that relief was obtained by the time he left.

I saw Dr. McNutt only twice, and it was many years ago, but I liked him very much. He was unable to save my dog on the second occasion, but it was not from lack of trying. It was a desperate situation, and he seemed very caring and certainly did his best. I no longer live in that area, but if I did I would go to him again. I believe he does specialize in horses.
