"Hi Mr. [Member Name Removed], I can see by your review that the phone conversation in the hours prior to this review was unsatisfactory. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to not only address your concerns on a public platform but to also help educate other homeowners with irrigation systems. It is not uncommon to find issues when an irrigation system is first turned on for the year. That is why we provide a start-up service so that we can be on site during the first turn on to address any issues right away. I am sorry if you had trouble finding the main water shut off to your irrigation because that would have prevented any water from continuing through the system other than the water remaining in the lines. Regarding the repair, You are correct in that the bill was around $2000 and we were there for a few hours with multiple technicians. 12 man hours total. We came to repair the irrigation that was destroyed by the landscaping work. I see we did not send an invoice for the trip and the time that was taken in the weeks leading up to this repair to communicate with the landscaping company that you hired, as we spoke with them about where specific lines were, ways to avoid and minimize irrigation damage, and coordinate timelines. Mr. [Member Name Removed], we provide a professional service and do charge for it. We do not ever object to using parts that a customer has purchased online however we at Alternative Rain Irrigation do not order our parts online. We prefer to go to a local distributor and our materials are priced at that same list price. All of our customers are welcome to call the same supplier and ask for the list price on any item for full disclosure. It simply is not feasible to order online because it would create a much bigger time gap in repairs being made as well as remove many warranties that come with certain materials. Alternative Rain will be continuing to use the same local supplier that we and many other companies have used and trusted for years. We also pride ourselves in contributing to the local economy by doing this. Again, we do not object to a customer saving money by ordering their own parts. Mr. [Member Name Removed], I can see this has troubled you and for that I am very sorry. I hope you can find a company of your choosing that will provide you with more great service.
