 + -1 moreI left the vacuum cleaner on a Tuesday. Mr. Ikeda called to give me the estimate on Thursday and it was ready on Friday. He cleaned the exterior of both the canister and the Powermate so it looked very nice. The store is very cluttered but I felt Mr. Ikeda is very knowledgable and honest. I highly recommend this shop.
Description of Work: He diagnosed the problem with the Powermate attachment to my Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner worked fine but the Powermate attachment no longer worked. He ended up replacing the motor on the Powermate. It works fine now and he even replaced the light bulb so it lights up the carpet as I'm vacuuming.

 + -1 moreToday we found two more tears in our vacuum cleaner hose. We assumed the tears are a result of age and use. However the cannister vacuum still works well. The hose was made of plastic with a coiled wire inside of it for support. We immediately returned to the Pearl City Vacuum Cleaner shop with our vacuum hose. This time the repair man replaced the entire hose. This task is a little more challenging than it may sound. Each end of the hose has a unique plastic fitting. The hose did not slip out or twist out easily. This repairman seems to really know his stuff. He had never worked on our brand before. But he worked at the task until he was successful. We now have a new hose. It is not the same color as the old one (from powder blue to pink) but the vacuum is not a piece of art. It is a tool we use daily and are pleased to have back in working order. This shop is approximately 3/4 mile from our home.
Description of Work: We purchased our Royal brand vacuum in 1996. Although it works well, the hose broke at the base rendering it unusable. It is a cannister model. We searched and found the Pearl City Vacuum Cleaner Shop. This shop is a repair shop as opposed to a retail vacuum cleaner seller. The shop appears to have one employee. The physical area is small and crowded with boxes of parts, etc. There is not much room to get in the door. Please do not let this deter you if you should need a vacuum repaired. The owner/worker is knowledgeable and reserved. He was able to repair our hose by cutting off the torn section (about 6 inches) and reattaching the plastic base. This was our first visit. Cost $15.00. He fixed it while I watched. That was about 7 months ago.
