I have been trying to obtain a refund from Robins Bed & Mattress since January 21, 2016, I have called daily (business days) attempting to speak with Mr. Simpson and i have recieved varying reason why Mr. Simpson can't speak with me. messages were left with NO RESPONSE. I last attempted to reach Mr. Simpson on February 25, 2016. UPDATE: After I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and being given a deadline of March 4, 2016 to respond by the BBB, Robins Bed & Mattress issued a refund check on Friday, March 4, 2016, for $4,042.46.
Description of Work: I was referred to Robins Bed & Mattress (Robins B&M) by Hobbs Medical supplies after they could not supply me with a medical adjustable bed ordered by my doctor. I went to Robins B & M on December 29, 2015 and started the process to purchase the bed and mattress for $4,042.46. Orignally after receiving premission from my flex card company American Benefit Group (ABG) I was going to purchase the bed using my ABG debit mastercard but, the card would not work at this location. I called ABG and was told to pay for it with my funds , then send them the bill. So, I wrote a Bank of America personal check, # 7823, for the amount due ($4,042.46) and ordered a Tempurpedic contour Supreme Mattress with a Premier Adj. Base. The set had to be ordered because they didn't have one in stock. On January 21, 2016, prior to taking delivery of the bed I went into the store and canceled the order and asked for a refund. The sales person (Chris Posey) told me he could not refund my order because I paid by check, only the owner (James D. Simpson) could issue a refund and he was out of town until January 25, 2016 (Store Manager asurred me in writing, prior to purchase, that a refund would be issued if a return was made). It took until January 28, 2016 to finally speak with Mr. Simpson. He indicated that I had two options: (1) He would send the money to American Benefit Group or, (2) I take delivery of the mattress and base. I told him that I paid by personal check and I expect to recieve a refund sent to me after the check cleared the bank ( the check posted December 30, 2015). I placed a call to American Benefit Group to let them of the occurrances that have taken place. They agreed that a refund should be issued to me as soon as my personal check clear the bank (check has cleared).

The salesman was polite. They wouldn't give me a discount even though the item was the floor model, but the bonus was that it was fully assembled, I guess. He did mischarge me on the bill (error reading his own handwriting) but when I later pointed it out, he was quick to apologize and correct it. The price for the item was comparable to prices for the same item online from other companies, so it was easier to buy it and take it home that day. He was helpful in loading it into our van, and so far, the product has been fine.
Description of Work: Purchased a futon and frame from Robins Mattress and Futon.

About a year ago I was looking to purchase a new mattress so I went in to see Robins Bed & Mattress and see what they had to offer. I ended up buying a mattress from the representative at Robins who informed me they were having a "closeout" sale. At my dismay the day that the mattress was delivered it was completely filthy and in un acceptable condition. When I called the store with my issue the sales rep told me that it was a closeout special and all sales were final. I would not use Robins Bed & Mattress again and do not recommend anyone else to either.
