I had a maple that had grown around a power line and it needed to be removed. I called several places that either did not return my calls, waiting 3 business days to return my call, used their grandmother as an answering service (no joke) or would not work with Georgia Power. Sesmas tree service called me back quick and had someone out the next day. They gave me a quote and told me to call them when I had decided. Unfortunately I had a personal issue arise and then an illness which prevented me from getting back to them for a couple of months. I called them expecting them to have to do another quote and was surprised they honored the original quote. They showed up on time, and the moment Georgia power cut the power they got to work. It was complicated with the tree growing around the power line, very close to my house and close to the property line with the neighbor. In 3.5 hours they had the tree down, cut to the firewood sized pieces I had asked for and had cleaned up. I was impressed. I am very happy with their service and should I ever need a tree service again, i will definitely be calling them.

After getting around 5 quotes, they had the best price. They were able to do it in about a week from the date of the quote, which was one of the best turnaround time. They were a bit difficult to get in contact for signing the estimate and work approval. The tree cutting was done quickly and with no problems. The stump grinding appears to be a subcontractor. It took about another week to get the stump grinding work done because of the rain.

Outstanding! Excellent work done at a very reasonable price. Helped to coordinate tree removal application with the city. Highly professional and did a great job of communicating.

Terrible. The person twice promised to come inspect my property to write up an estimate and never showed. The first time, I could understand because the weather wasn't great (although he didn't say he wouldn't be coming--he just failed to appear). He called several days later and said he had been "busy" and would come out to do the estimate. Never showed. I've since hired another company to do the job and have yet to hear anything further from Sesmas. They must not want the business.

Sesmas Tree Service did a great job at a fair price. I’m very pleased. In the past I used a different tree service, but it wasn’t till Sesmas that the trees were done the way I wanted. Nice work, guys! Will definitely call you again.

SESMAS always gets the job done in a very professional manner. I have used this company in a multi-family application for years -- They come when called to handle emergencies, they consistently quote very reasonable pricing and they complete their jobs in a timely manner. SESMAS is my "go to" tree company.

They showed up early one morning and got to work. They were amazing in their sorting out how to take down each tree with the cutter taking out branches as he went up 50-60-70 feet, but in a controlled manner, with the crew below efficiently guiding each piece down with ropes he tied on each section he was cutting. He then cut each trunk section as he came back down and they lowed them as well. Safety was their number one concern and they worked together as a team like an orchestra. It was awesome to watch (and I watched all day). They ground up anything less than 8" in diameter into one of their enclosed trucks to haul away and stacked up the big 10 foot logs by the street which another truck picked up the next morning. They blew off the roof and driveway and yard of all debris. -I would recommend them to anyone.

Everyone was professional and helpful from the first phone call to the finished work. We were pleased. The only other thing I would say is that the price seemed high at $900. But, we felt like we had no other choice, realized that this was an emergency situation, AND felt that their doing the work itself was dangerous being out in the storm, so we agreed to pay it. If it had been over $1000, I think we would have waited until the next day or so.

This is a follow up on my previous review in October. I did give a F at that time. The office manager Jany did call back and came over to take a look at the project. She was very nice and professional. She apologized about the delay in calling us back due to the severe tornado damage services in the community. She arranged prompt service for us . The job was very well done and we were very pleased with their work. We will use Sesmas Tree Service in the future

The first time Sesmas came out, they removed a few trees from my front yard with no difficulty. During this same session, I had them remove a large pine tree from my backyard to make room for a driveway to the back. I told them they could leave the tree, as long as it was in manageable chunks. Instead of cutting off the limbs, and then cutting the tree down in sections, as they had done with the others, they decided to drop the tree WHOLE. It broke my fence, and about 10-20 feet of the top of the tree ended up in my neighbors yard. It also took down a large oak tree next to it, and damaged the base of another, even larger oak tree that is close to the house. I was dealing with my children and not watching them work at the time. They came up to tell me what happened and that the "neighbor had agreed to fix the fence in exchange for them taking down a limb for him.... bye!". The guy made it clear they weren't going to take even the tree away. Suddenly, instead of having a pile of branches and several logs, I had two huge trees, limbs still attached, laying across the entire width of my yard. I emailed them to complain, and the owner of the company came out a few days later. Here's the rub, I was scheduled for cervical spine surgery days away from this, and I was not in the mood to deal with this. The owner said they would come out and at least stack the logs and branches for me. Fine. Whatever. I agreed to it, but the bottom line is that I shouldn't have had to work to get them to fix their screw up to being with. They should have taken everything away for me as they had done in the front. I shouldn't have had to even think about it. Additionally, the tree that was hit has mushrooms growing on the base. Another Arborist came to look and informs me that tree is eventually going to have to come down now. Great, one of the few trees I wanted to keep is going to cost me another $2000. Flash forward to November, and my neighbor is having discussions with myself and his other neighbor about having trees leaning over his house taken down. We called quite a few companies out for quotes, and my neighbor decided he wanted to use Sesmas. I had them quote some other work for me, waiting to see if the first time was a fluke, or their modus operandi. They came out, decided they had to take down two trees to be able to access the target tree on my property, then informed me they were going to have to charge us more for it. I don't know if the neighbor signed off on it or not. They charged a reasonable price for the two extra trees, but it should have been quoted to begin with. This is supposed to be a professional tree company. If they didn't put it on the quote, that's their problem, they should be able to determine these things upfront. With two other houses involved I decided not to argue about it. One of the caveats that was listed on the quote was to cut down the stumps to a low height (not stump grinding). They were unable to cut one of them because it had some sort of rock in the center that broke a couple of saw blades. Fine. Completely understandable. They were unable to cut any of the other three down, because their large saw was in the shop. It's odd that they could cut the trees down, but not the stumps of said trees. Days go by, and none of us had heard anything about completing the job, so I gave them a call. The representative asked me to text her pictures, then later told me they would be out early the following week to complete the job. It's now been over a week since then... still nothing. I'm going to go ahead and pay them and be done with them. They didn't clean up the debris (as stated on the quote) for my neighbor, as I saw him doing it himself. They don't communicate effectively. They don't do what they say they are going to do. I'm pretty easy to please. Tell me what you're going to do. Tell me how much it's going to cost. Then do it. If you make a mistake, FIX IT without putting me through the hassle of telling you what needs to be done. I've got another $10,000 worth of tree work I want done, but at this point, I won't be calling this company again. I'm pretty laid back, but after the first fiasco, it should have been PERFECT this time. It wasn't.

Sesmas responded quickly to my call and arrived promptly to provide an estimate. I was offered different price and service options, so I was able to configure the job specifically to my timeframe, requirements, and budget. The crew arrived that same day, within a couple of hours. The crew was very professional, explained what they were doing, and worked with me to ensure the job met my expectations. They cleaned up so well my yard and driveway were neater when they left than before they arrived.

Never call back or come to do the work after we called so many times.

They made it seem like it was an inconvenience that I wanted to pay them for their services. Perhaps they do better when not dealing with States of Emergency, however I don't want to find out.

Not too good, at first. The 1st guy they sent underbid the job and when they realized it they gave me the run around and tried to back out. Then they blamed it on the weather. But finally after 5 weeks of me calling and demanding, they sent a crew and did the job in only one hour! Cleaned up well, no damage. Worked very hard.

They were very responsive right away. I got an estimate the very same day as the call. There was a little lag on finding out when they scheduled it. They did not ask for any money until the job was totally complete including grinding the stump. They were very affordable. Would definitely hire them again. They sent pictures to show before and after since we are in another state from our rental property.

I contacted Sesmas Tree Service who promptly came to the house and wrote an emergency rate quote to remove the tree for $2400. This price included removal of two small trees for access (small enough to get wood chipped whole), the oak tree, limbs, debris and use of a bobcat. After starting the job, spending no more than an hour wood chipping the limbs and debris, Sesmas told me they'd have to leave and come back some other time to get the bulk of the tree (the trunk/logs), as they had other jobs. So, I was charged an emergency rate for them to start the work, but to come back at their leisure to finish it. The next day I contacted them and let them know I would finish removing the tree and to please adjust the price for just removal of the tree limbs. After a conversation with a rather rude lady in their office, I received an invoice for $1900. Note that the bulk of the tree is still sitting in my driveway, and they never had to bring the bobcat out as detailed in the proposal. I checked with neighbors/friends/coworkers who also had emergency tree removal due to Irma. I was able to collect prices for 3 similar jobs. Sesmas was over double the price of all of them, and 6x the price of another local insured/bonded competitor. One neighbor had 9 large tress removed (two larger than the one still in my driveway) for $2800, that comes to about $311 per tree (two bobcacts included in the job). Either Sesmas was price gouging during Irma, or they are just an incredibly bad emergency tree removal value compared to other local insured tree removal services. Be wary of this company.

Only problem is their Bobcat that left a mess on my driveway, otherwise ok job. They tried to clean it on subsequent visit but couldn't. Had to hire a professional pressure washing company to clean it up. Four weeks later, nothing from Sesmas on at least sharing the cost of pressure washing.

They checked back up with me after the job was done. They came out several times to make sure they understood what I wanted. They also had a very reasonable price.
