My roof had problems for years. The roofer that was "patching" it up for me periodically in retrospect seemed to not be knowledgable about flat roofs. I received several estimates, with Findlay Roofing the highest. Bill Parsons did my roof inspection and provided the estimate. He gave me a lot of information and the estimate was very detailed. The bid gave me a clear picture of what was going to be done and it seemed to encompass everything that needed to be done to give me a good roof. The other estimate, although lower, was not detailed enough to give me confidence that everything would be taken care of. Bill arrived on time, was friendly and professional. I had to wait several weeks for the service to be performed, but that was fine with me. The crew arrived on time, we're all friendly and respectful of my property. They completed the job that day, did a good clean-up and put everything back in the original location. I haven 't had a leak yet and mother nature has provided plenty of rain for my test run :-) My only regret is I didn't do this earlier and avoid all the patching and leaks over the years.
Description of Work: Replaced my flat roof.

We scheduled a day for them to do the work, and they showed up on time and completed the entire job in one day. They did an excellent job and cleaned up very well. They handled the insurance paperwork and gave us time to receive the insurance payment before expecting payment from us. It has been over a year since we've had the work done, and we haven't had a single problem. We would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: The house we moved into in July 2011 still had the original standard three-tab shingle roof. Several shingles had already been replaced before we moved in, but over the course of the winter with a lot of high wind days, more shingles blew off and an entire sheet started to peel back. We contacted our insurance company and they agreed to replace the roof due to wind damage. We were able to choose the roofer to do the job and got quotes from a few different companies. One just wanted to know how much we were getting from our insurance company so they could just take it all and give us another three-tab shingle roof. After checking with two other companies, we thought Findlay Roofing (the guys with the "Roof Roof" trucks) would be the best. They took the time to give us a proper quote without first asking how much we would get from insurance. Their quote for removing our old shingles and installing an upgraded 25-yr Owens Corning architectural shingle roof was actually slightly less than we were getting from our insurance! In addition, they would install new aluminum flashing and boot covers, remove the existing roof box vents and power vent, and install ridge vents. The representative, Alex, actually took the time to drive around with me and look at other houses to decide what style and color roof would be best for our house. They had several brands from which to choose, and he explained the differences in the products and the whole installation process thoroughly.

Job came out perfect, it was less painful than I expected, got done faster and I elected some options in the process I am sure would have cost me additional if I had contracted the work out.
Description of Work: I called the roofing Co. for an estimate. The rep. was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and very specific about what they would do and not do. I needed a leaking skylight sealed with roofing cement, a 30' facia board (behind the gutter) and the gutter replaced (about 30') and leader pipe installed. The estimate for the roof repair was $250, the estimate for the rest of the work was about $450.00. After recovering from sticker shock, I opted to do it myself. Now understand that my response is based on my having been in the industry years ago, I know how to do all the required steps to complete this work, however, I am 62, unemployed, somewhat overweight, been behind a desk too long and didn't want to climb a steep roof handle or rent a sufficiently tall ladder to do the work, but I did. The ladder, truck rental (two times), roofing cement (5-gallons), over 100' of gutter (enough for my whole house), 70' of leader pipe, 23 elbows, straps, end caps, outlet tubes, rivets, and calk cost me less than the estimate for the work. Total labor less than 10 hours. This may not be a fair comparison, but DIY is still alive.

While I did not end up using the company for our gutter service, their rep - Clint - was fantastic! I did not use them, because of the timing of what we needed did not fit with their schedule. My loss. More importantly, Clint came out and spent almost an hour working with me... even after we agreed I would not be able to use their company this time! Clint explained what I needed to tell the other service company that we would use, and he also gave me advice on our roof. Wow! He made an investment of time that some day I will be very happy to repay. I hope you give them a call... and ask for Clint!

Findlay put a new roof on our home last year and did a wonderful job. Recently one of our other properties has some hail damage to the roof. My wife called last week and the lady said someone from their company who call us to let us know when a estimator could be available. We had heard nothing so today my wife called back and spoke to a man said he saw no notes that she ever called and then stated he was too busy to talk with her and hung up the phone. We now have the impression Findlay roofing is not interested in doing business with us. Now I am worried about Findlay being reliable if we have a problem with the new $5000 roof they installed last year. I figure that 10 year warranty cost about $2000 compare to having a general contractor replace the roof. I am not feeling very confident with Findlay Roof Inc.

Called on Monday to schedule a roof repair. She set an appointment for an estimate, 7 days out and stated the repair probably wouldn't occur for another 7 days after that, however, weather has been good and they are well rated, so I figured what the heck, i can wait. 2 days later they called to see if it was their roof they were repairing (it's not). They stated that because it's not their roof, it's too far to drive from Marietta to Loganville and cancelled the appointment. The lady (Sandy) was very kind and did direct me to Kudzu.com to find someone else. My biggest problem with this is the fact that their location states on their profile that they serve all of the Atlanta area, and they obviously don't. I will now start my search again to find another provider.

Acquired pricing from multiple roofing companies listed in Angies List. Did research on shingles, GAF vs Owens Corning. Selected GAF 3-tab shingles since my roof was a 3-12 pitch and not appropriate for architectural style shingles. Added Drip edge and Gap edge which was not part of the old roof. All companies gave a free estimate. Roof Roof was the first to actually schedule a time to measure and provide a general estimate by the same person who took the measurements. Other companies took the measurements and I was not at home at the time. Dr. Roof sales person schedule time to discuss the cost estimate of the job with great detail on what would be required and suggested a couple of changes; this was scheduled 5 days after the technician took the original measurements. I contacted the companies to verify the details of materials, time, and labor for the project. I wanted to make sure that I was comparing Apples to Apples when comparing the total cost, materials, and services provided. Roof Roof offered an additional discount from the original cost estimate to close the deal. The new price was better than other estimates and provided a price advantage and value that closed the deal for me. I did have one issue that was resolved. I was concerned about the color of the drip edge that they were going to install. I had already provided an email that provided the color code to match the Hardi-plank siding and framing installed. I had anticipated a possible problem with the Drip Edge color that would be visible from the ground. Roof Roof made new Drip edge and painted it a color that at least was similar and fit into the color scheme. They came back on a second day to complete the job. The project leader was part of the installation team. He provided the final inspection. I am very satisfied with the work completed and the price of the entire job. They met my expectations.

Findlay's representative, Cody, was on time and conducted the inspection of my Dad's roof. Cody discovered that the roof is in good shape and there is no damage, which is contrary to an estimate Dad received from another roofing company that was out to get his money. The other roofing company had called Dad and told him they were inspecting roofs in the East Point GA area for damanges, since there has been some bad storms that had passed through. Dad allowed them come over and inspect his roof. This other company told him that he had roof damage and that all they needed was his homeowner's insurance information and they would work with the adjuster to repair his roof with little or no cost to him. Thankfully Dad called me before giving out any information or signing anything. I used Angie's list to locate Findlay Inc. to perform a second inspection. I am glad I selected Findlay for the second opinion. That did a professional job and they did not charge Dad for their inspection. I will use them again in the future and recommend them to my friends in East Point GA. I highly recommed them.

I received 3 quotes from 3 companies highly rated on Angie's list. Findlay came in with the lowest price of the 3 (400 less than the middle bidder and 1,400 less than the highest bidder). They were on time and did an amazing job. My only complaint is I found 4 nails in the driveway that were underneath the dumpster/trailer - i.e. when they pulled the trailer away, they didn't clean up underneath it... Other than that, the place was spotless. They did a great job all around and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I called Findlay Roofing, Inc. because we had severe winds and hail in our area. I found shingles on my driveway and thought the roof had some damage. I set an appointment for 9am on Good Friday, knowing that I would be home from work. This appointment was made approximately a week in advance. The evening before the appointment I received a call from the person who was supposed to come out the next day and he told me that he wanted to an appointment. I told him that I already had an appointment for 9am the next day. He said that he would not be in my area the next day and that the company had double booked him. He called the company then called me back to tell me that nothing could be done about the original appointment and it would have to be rescheduled. If that was an example of how they treat their customers I did not want to have anything to do with Findlay Roofing, Inc.

While the roofers were working, I went outside several times to look at the progress. When all the shingles were removed and the entire roof was covered in tar paper. I was informed that they had replaced 146 running feet of decking, which was in addition to the estimate. This did not correspond to what I had seen in the way of small areas of repair. The office reassured me that the rotten lumber would be stacked separately, so that I could see the amount, and the foreman would have photos. The replaced lumber, instead, was mixed in with the debris from the shingles, and the photos on the cell phone did not show the entire roof but just individual joining places. When I refused to accept the 146 feet, the foreman said he had even, for no extra charge, braced two rafter using the lumber I had stored in my garage (without asking my permission!!!!! I was appalled). When the bill arrived in the mail, the company had made adjustments: they had subtracted $1 from the price per running foot of decking. Also, suddenly a sales tax appeared on the bill for the shingles, which had not been included in the estimate, and they took off that tax. I very definitely feel that as a single older woman, there was an attempt to take advantage of me. If the story about the 146 feet (= +/- $500) had been the truth, I feel that the company would not have adjusted the price by $300, although it seems fishy that the sales tax for the shingles was not included in the original estimate. My friends are eagerly listening to my story, and none of them would touch Findlay Roofing with a ten- foot pole. The new roof looks good but the experience was disappointing. I thought by choosing a reputable company from Angie's list, I would forego being taken advantage of.

Work went very well. Team was fast and careful. No issues. They broke a landscape path light and I had it replaced and Findlay took it off the invoice without a question. You could probably get the same work done for a little bit less cost, but doubt the work or the guarantee would be as good or better. The value is great. I would definitely use them again.

Our old gutters were sagging directly above the front door which meant we were getting soaked during rain showers trying to get in and out of the door. We got a quote from Findlay to replace the gutters and made an appointment to have the work done on March 19. Alan called on the 19th to reschedule to the 20th because his job that day was running later than expected. That was not a problem for us and he arrived on time on the 20th to do the job. The work was done quickly although he did have to get more downspout because the work order was written for 20 feet of downspout and it should have been 40 feet. They did a good job, replacing nails with screws on facia board and cleaning pine straw from between facia board and house. Cleaned up thoroughly.
Description of Work: We had 37 feet of gutters plus two 20 foot downspouts replaced. Included was removing gutter guards and replacing them on new gutters.

The roof on our rental house was repaired many times with the latest repair estimate to be $3,000. So, it was time to replace the roof. I called two companies on Angie's List and decided on Findlay. The entire process was so easy and convenient for working professionals. The roof was replaced in one day. The tenant was pleased with the clean up and installation. Payment was completed via phone with the receipt and warranty information sent in the mail. Each person I dealt with was professional and very pleasant. I would recommend Findlay Roofing to anyone.

The quote was presented in a timely manner and we received prompt responses to all negotiations. Work was scheduled for 3/11 but heavy rain and wind delayed a couple days. We were told the job may take 1.5 days, but the crew finished in one full day with time to spare. Silvio did a great job managing the process and put up with my presence on the roof for much of the job. The quality of work is obvious and we are very happy with the result. Additionally, the crew did an extraordinary job cleaning up - I haven't found a single piece of waste or any nails so far. I'm sure I will eventually find something when I mow the grass next weekend, but it's clear that they pride themselves on going the extra mile. Based on this experience, I will strongly consider Findlay for other home improvement jobs.
Description of Work: We contacted Findlay to receive a quote for full roof replacement on a 1950's brick ranch and had a rep out to house within a couple days - extremely punctual (Jason Nichols was a pleasure to deal with). Out of the six contractor's we received quotes from, Findlay's quote was towards the cheaper end of the price spectrum. They also have a no-BS approach to quoting and neogitiating, and we were able to get everything we wanted at our desired price point. We received achitectural lifetime shingles with the best warranty offered by the manufacturer including upgraded underlayment and several other accomodations/upgrades.

Findley delivered the shingles to my home on the promised date. On the promised install date they showed up on time and ready to work. They worked quickly and effectively and had my roof replaced within the quoted time. I had to replace several sheets of plywood which they had mentioned earlier so no surprise there. The cleanup was good but I still find the odd nail now-and-then. But it's been no problem and I wouldn't fault Findley for this. I recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: Findley was hired to install a new roof on my home as the old roof had passed it's day. My roof is a simple, low angle 3 part roof. There are no vallies that needed to be dealt with, very straight-forward job. The job was actually performed by Roof Roof who is owned by Findley.

I took advantage of the deal offered in the Angie's List publication for free gutters with gutter guards. Made the appointment with Jason to get the estimate, who also scheduled the work. The installers came out and did the work over a couple days. It would have taken just one day, but the first day was cut short due to weather. Overall, I am satisfied with the job that was done. The gutter guards look good, and are much better than the hinged mesh gutter guards they replaced.

Findlay was one of several roofing companies that gave us estimates. They were thorough, and unlike most of the companies, recommended installation of turbine vents to improve ventilation in the attic(s.) Another company had recommended these at twice the price. Crew came a little early and got right on the job, working very hard and quickly. Crew took care to protect surrounding areas. We left and returned four and a half hours later, and they had already finished and were gone. Roof and new vents look great, and a $600 coupon from Angies List really helped.
