I was very pleased with Findlay Roofing. My husband and I knew that we needed a new roof when we bought the house in 2009 but have been putting it off for other projects. Ray Mannion came to the house to talk about the roof since he was doing another project in the area and noticed the state of the roof. We had missing shingles, algae, curvature of the shingles, and you could see the glue between the shingles. Everything on the problem roof list we had. Mr. Mannion asked if we would like a free estimate and I indicated that we had received other estimates in the past but they were too high for our current budget. Mr. Mannion was very friendly, informative, and explained the entire process inlcuding follow up after the completion of the project. I received the quote in a few hours and we were very pleased. They were the lowest but also had the best ratings on Anglie?s List and the BBB. During the replacement of the roof he kept my husband posted on all the details throughout the two day job. I was amazed since I was out of town for the whole project and would send me pictures and emails with the progress. We were very pleased with the final result and have and will continue to recommend the company to others.

All the way through the job, from estimate to follow up, they were very conscientious about calling and keeping us informed. We love the roof itself and couldn't be happier with the work, We will recommend Findlay to our friends needing roof work. "
Description of Work: "Replaced old roof - had two old layers on it. From the very beginning I was impressed by their professionalism. I had already gotten 3 other estimates but wasn't satisfied. Findlay was recommended by a friend in addition to having a high score on Angie's list. Tony Wyss came to estimate and impressed us with his knowledge and experience. He understood and proposed solutions to all our questions. The amount of the estimate ended up in the middle of our 4 estimates. The Crew chief, ""Tuna"", was very professional and capable. We had two rain delays and he kept us informed about his plans and always called before each visit. They used a large metal trailer instead of a dumpster for the scrap which was good for our driveway. The crew was constantly cleaning up and adjusting the cloths to catch the old roof materials. After a rain delay they came back a third day to finish up a shed they also re-roofed and to pick up any remaining materials, run a magnetic bar around to pick up nails and to blow off our lawn and driveway.

I got three estimates and they were the lowest bid (at least $2,000 less than the highest bidder). They came highly rated and they lived up to that very much so. They completed the roof in one day and their cleanup was excellent!

It was fine in terms of coming out and everything. When they actually got to the work, we had it done on a Saturday so I do like the fact that they were convenient or we didn't have to take off from work for them to do it. They arrived promptly, they were probably here before 7 in the morning. The thing I didn't like about it is that they kind of took over which we expected them to do, but they had a microwave, a generator, and all kinds of things because I guess the roofers don't really leave once they start and their crew did not speak English. Just because every house in our neighborhood had experienced damage, I kind of witnessed other companies when they came by, and no one from Findlay came like a project manager to make sure we were satisfied with how the work was progressing. We were on the phone with him several times that particular day and again it was because we had seen our neighbor's homes being done, and we did notice that things were being cut down kind of differently and so we would call them and ask why they weren't doing this, just because we have watched it over and over again. There was a lady with them who spoke English and I think she was somebody's wife, and when we approached her she kind of said I'm just here to translate, but didn't seem to want to take responsibility. When we called the office though, there was someone there and that someone did return our call, but just because I have seen what everyone else was doing I wanted someone to at least come by at some point during the job since they were here for at least 12 hours. Someone would have at least dropped by to see that we were satisfied. Our other complaint was in the summer when we did get to turn our furnace on, the work they did on our roof either jiggled a pipe and it came loose so our furnace actually was not venting out. It was just venting into our attic and they should either have told us to call a heating and air company just to make sure that everything in our attic was still okay or they should have someone to come out and check to make sure that that hadn't come undone because it could have led to carbon monoxide or something being leaked into our house. We called them about the furnace issue and they sent someone out, but we ended having to call a heating and air conditioning company because I wasn't really sure if they were certified to do that. They were kind of nasty with us about that and told us to send them the bill from the heating and air conditioning company which we never did, but I got the impression when I called to let them know that that was what we had discovered and they were familiar with this before because he didn't seem shocked or surprised. I have a small child and they should have at least been responsible enough. When it happened, I looked back to their paperwork because they tell you you don't have nails in your yard and they will get up as much as possible, there was nothing that mentioned that you might want to make sure that your ventilation system is still working correctly and that everything is still connected. I don't think there was anything that they intentionally did, but it was not something we thought about until my husband went into the attic and noticed that the pipe from our furnace was not connected to the roof. It was venting into the attic. I have not had any problem with the work that they have done, it hasn't leaked, it was just that the safety issue was a big thing. The price was within the limits of whatever our insurance company had allotted us. The work is good and so far, we have not had any issues about leaking or anything like that.

After getting 4 bids on replacing my roof, I opted to hire Findlay Roofing, from Marietta, GA. Findlay turned out to be the lowest bidder, primarily because of the "free" gutter system that was included in the price. Jason was a very knowledgeable and professional salesman. I asked several technical questions during the bidding process, and he answered them all quickly by phone or email. The work crew was also professional and worked hard to get the job done on schedule. I was particularly concerned that all damaged plywood on the roof, soffit and fascia was completely repaired, and the crew did a great job, including removing some old vents that were no longer needed. The attic insulation was blown in through the roof, minimizing the amount of equipment and noise going through the house. I opted for Owens Corning Tru Definition shingles, upgraded hip and ridge shingles, and other upgraded items to get the better Platinum Protection warranty on the roof. I'm not sure the upgraded warranty was worth the $320, nonetheless I'm happy. I also asked for extra insulation in the attic, including an attic hood that covered the opening at the top of the ladder entrance, and the crew responded as requested. I am extremely happy with the Debris Guard gutter system. It is a bigger and more maintenance-free system than I previously had. All in all, I am very pleased with the work Findlay did. There were minor issues, but nothing significant. The crew ran out of the regular shingles as well as the special hip and ridge shingles, so they were in the trash bin looking for pieces they could use. I haven't noticed any odd-looking gaps. I did ask the crew to put hip and ridge shingles on a small roof ridge that was hidden by trees. They were a little reluctant since they were running low on shingles, but they did the work as requested. I'm glad I had that done, because now the trees are gone and the roof is much more noticeable. Two rear tires on my wife's car suffered nail damage about a week after the roof was replaced, so I guess I should have made sure the clean-up was a bit more thorough. I have had no problems with the roof or gutter system after 10 months, and I would highly recommend Findlay Roofing.

Everything went very smoothly. They had someone come out and take a look at our roof and attic, and we had a quote the next day. Their pricing was very competitive, and they carried quality shingles. We made our decision to go with Findley because their reviews on this website were so positive, and because their pricing was very good. We did have one bid come in lower (not by much) but went with Findlay because they seemed reliable. They were easy to work with, they worked well with our insurance company, and so far we have had no problems with the roof. I will update if there are any issues in the future.

Overall they did an excellent job. We did have a problem when the job foreman advised my wife that he needed to remove the skylight in the bathroom and my wife told him not to and this was relayed to our office contact. But the foreman took the skylight off and after a lot of roof work and words, we are not happy with the re-installation. They are scheduled to come out on January 10 to review and fix the re-installation. Also, they started on time and worked into dark on Monday, December 16, and did not finish their work. Before they left, I asked the Foreman when they would return to finish their work, and he stated 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning, the next day. They did not show up on Tuesday morning as stated, and after a number of calls with their office, the crew showed up at 1:45 PM. Again they worked to dark. did finish the roof work, but they did not have the daylight to clean up the site as promised. Another crew came back the next day to finish clean-up and pick-up nails, etc. All-in-all a good, professional job...but the crew foreman and the company had communication issues with the customer during the work.

The company came out immediately and gave an estimate. The guy that came was nice. They did a good job but it took a couple times coming out as they had to make a couple custom pieces and had made them incorrectly so they had to correct the pieces. It was a small inconvenience. Although they were a little pricey I would use them again.

I have had a leak in my basement for several years. I had been told by a restoration company that it was the roof. I appreciated that Findlay responded quickly to my email, called the next day, was punctual for our appointment, and examined my roof and said that the roof was fine. I respect that they didn't try to do work that I didn't need.

I would definitely recommend Findlay Roofing to anyone. I spoke with 2 other roofing companies and by far Findlay was the most professional and easiest to deal with. Chris Stull explained everything well and did not try to push or sell us anything we didn?t need, but did provide us with the information we needed to help us make good decisions. They may not be the very cheapest, but you do get what you pay for when you do business with Findlay. Professional, thorough and honest they made the whole process from start to finish the least stressful I have had with this type of work. They showed up on time, they were very well organized, the work was done quickly and cleanup was thorough. When a follow up was required, they were quick to respond and take care of it. Their customer service is an example of how it should be done by others.
Description of Work: We had the roof to my primary home, my rental home and a storage shed replaced. Findlay also blew in an additional 12” of insulation, replaced the gutters, replaced the chimney cap, pressure washed the house and patio and repaired vinyl siding on my primary home. $16,000.00

Prior to calling Findlay Roofing, another company had improperly installed a cricket on my roof. When it rained water entered my home, soaking a downstairs carpet, staining the cieiling of an upstairs bedroom, and ran down the back of the unfinished chase, soaking the wood beneath the firebox. Jerry came out to provide an estimate and at that time, let me know that they could come out between five and seven days later. When the forecast called for rain I called the company on a Friday afternoon to let them know of my concerns. Early the following Monday I received a call from Jerry letting me know that if I could be ready, he would send the roofers right away. By 8:00 am they were hard at work. Not only did they provide a first rate cricket but they took photos of each and every step should I need them in the future. Findlay Roofing went the extra mile when it was needed. Even more importantly, when the rains came, no water entered my home and the chase structure was bone dry as well!

We were very happy with the work they did and we're probably going to use them again. We're probably gonna get one or two other quotes but I suspect we'll use them because we like the services. They did everything as advertised, were on time and their price was reasonable. Plus, they did very nice work. It was a decent sized job, but it wasn't the whole roof, which would have been more.
