NESS STUMP GRINDING

I used another tree service and they were to have grinded the stump of a tree, so I could put another tree in that exact spot. The other tree service said they would grind the stump 2' below the surface. They ultimately did not, they only went 1' deep and that was not deep enough for the new tree. I didn't know where to turn. I called Ness thinking they would call back in a few days or not at all, like most tree companies. I called at 7pm, because I was having the new tree delivered in 2 days. Ness called me back at 8pm (one hour later and that late at night)!! I could not believe it. The woman I spoke to was very, very friendly and said they would be out the next day. They said they could take it 2' below that surface and that was all i needed. They showed up right on time the next day. The service gentleman was very friendly and did a perfect job. I really don't think I have ever gotten service that quickly, and that friendly and professional. It was a very small job so I really didn't think anyone would want to do it.. I would refer this company any day and twice on Sundays. Fantastic job..

Matt called and said he would be here in about 7 minutes, since the office was very close. He showed up on time and did a great job making sure that the one stump in the front wasn't close to the water main. I really appreciated that. Matt looked at the stumps that I needed removed and gave me an awesome quote . (I was quoted $250 from someone else.) I said yes and Matt went to work immediately. I was surprised at how fast the stumps disappeared. Matt cleaned up, I paid him, and he left. It was a great experience to actually have someone do the job that they they quoted, do it well, and quickly.

I used Ness Stump Grinding back in July. Since then, a small tree in my front yard began to die, so I had it cut down by another company, leaving a small stump (5" diameter). I called Ness to come remove this, and another stump that they had quoted me $50 bucks on, during the July visit. Both stumps were within a few feet of each other, and he was done within minutes. Clean efficient, and within my budget.

These guys did exactly what they said they would do at the estimated time and charged a fair price. I would highly recommend them to get rid of those stumps that you assume will cost a lot to get rid of. It would have taken me three days to dig this thing up and with their machine, it was pile of mulch in about 30 minutes. They actually came the same day I called them and kept me informed as to when they would get to my house. A++++

The experience was perfect. They are wonderful, and I would hire them back. I had shopped around, and everyone wanted to charge me 500 Dollars or more, and he charged me below 100 Dollars. They normally charge per root, but he charged me a flat fee.

They were excellent. They have an excellent price, excellent work, and they are very professional. They were the best in everything, they were really good.

First, I found this provider on the Angie's site, then emailed them thru the site. That was last night at 11pm. I got a call this morning. Very friendly and professional people. They were able to come out this evening. They called me from a few miles near my home, but I was at work. I told them I'd be right behind them. When I got home, the stump was GONE! Neat and tidy work, and the guys were patiently waiting for me. (Bad traffic and thunderstorms slowed me down). Great price, great treatment, and if I have need of them in the future, you can bet I will call them. Listen, I've had horrible contractor experiences in the last year, some, thru Angies List providers, but this one.....I wish they did more than stumps. Hire them without reservation.

I left a message for Gordon today. He called me back within a few hours and had a guy in my area working at another job. Dakota (his guy in the area) called me back within an hour and a half and came over. He walked the yard and reviewed the work, gave me a bid and completed the work on the same day. Dakota was extremely professional and polite. I plan to have a few more trees removed and will use Ness for the stumps again. This is an excellent service company and I highly recommend them.

It went very well. The owner was very cautious and careful to ask me if any utilities may be buried close by and contacted the utility companies to make sure that they came out and marked where they were before work began. When Dakoda arrived, he was also very careful to make sure that it was okay with my neighbor by checking with them before beginning (since the roots were partially on their property.) The work was completed quickly and promptly for a reasonable price, and he was kind enough to recommend a landscaper.

I had Ness come out and grind one stump that was about 1-2 ft. in diameter. Called at 5 p.m. Monday and they were at my door by 8:15 Tuesday morning and finished with the job by 9:00 a.m. They were prompt, professional, and reasonable priced. We would definitely use them again! Great service.

They answered the phone promptly, scheduled me in on short notice, showed up when they said they would. The person who came out explained what he would do, explained possible damage to grass with getting machine in (it had been raining that week). He asked if I was OK with that risk or if I wanted to wait. He finished the work quickly and thoroughly. Couldn't have asked for better service. In short, fast, efficient, up front, and the job was done well. They would be the first on my list to call next time.

I would recommend him and use him in future, we just decided not to take down trees at that time. And have not yet, may in the future. Because of where we live we have to get Arborist and HOA to sign off before we can take down trees.

Called in the am...they stopped by and gave and estimate...I liked the price...they did the work and in about an hour all the stumps were gone!

Very good. Fast, thorough service. The robotic stump grinder made quick work of even an old 3 foot diameter tree trunk. The mechanical stump grinder is fascinating to watch. I am usually nervous seeing workers do dangerous work but I was very calm throughout this process because the operator stood a good distance away and let the machine do the work! Cleared the stumps right down to the ground. I can't tell there were any trees there now.

They provided the least expensive estimate by far. They showed up on time, did their work quickly, and did an excellent job. I couldn't be happier with this experience.

I could not be happier with the performance and results from Ness Stump Grinding. I hated even giving a "B" on the punctuality, but did want to be factual... they did not come when originally promised HOWEVER they did stay in touch repeatedly throughout the day and when he arrived in the late afternoon the job went very very very fast and despite his long day, the technician (I hate I didn't get his name) was VERY polite and friendly. He even had a long drive IN TRAFFIC to the other side of Atlanta ahead of him and didn't let that affect him. We'd had a tree removed the week prior and needed to get the stump ground as we want the area to regrow with grass. Ness was highly recommended on Angie's list, so we called and they were able to accommodate our schedule and the price was far under what I'd expected and budgeted. We'd had a shade-tree guy come and remove the stump from a small plum tree and charged us $40, so I assumed this big old tree was going to be $100 at least. Nope, $65. They have a beast of a stump grinder, rather than the floor-waxer looking type. He walked alongside it and it looked like it was from a science fiction movie "A Man and His Robot" or something. Before you know it, the stump was gone down about 12" below the surface. AWESOME! He was in and out in about 10 minutes. Great job, highly pleased. Will call them again and recommend them with NO hesitation.

I joined Angie's List 4/17/2013 to search for a reputable Tree Service. I chose Ness because it was rated one of the very top businesses. That very day I called Ness. I gave this business a D in professionalism because, at least, his message on the answering machine was polite. I left my name, telephone number, and a description of the work I needed done. I even expressed myself positively by stating that I would like for them to do the work for me. The F in responsiveness reflects my discouragement for never having my call returned. The D for overall experience is because I am giving Ness the benefit of the doubt -- maybe the workmen are sick or out of town, etc.

The company arrived on-time and completed the work of grinding more than 400 stumps in about eight hours using two machines. Because there was much debris from the felling of various trees they promised that if any stumps were missed that they would return to complete those without additional charge. As it turns out, they got all but two or three stumps which were hidden by the debris. We did not ask them to return for those as the landscaping was not going to be done in the area these stumps were hidden. Ness Stump Grinding performed as expected. Their personnel were friendly and professional. Overall we would highly recommend them for those needing this service.

Gordon was prompt and professional. He completed the above job in 45 minutes. He is a MASTER with his remote-controlled stump grinder! He offered to spread the mulch for us, but we already had a crew coming that was handling that part of the job. I was particularly impressed that he was able to get two large oak stumps that were right on our fence and in between some raised garden beds. He finessed those fine and dandy. He was mindful not to damage any other vegetation while navigating our wooded lot. We would absolutely use his service again.

Gordon gave me a very reasonable quote based solely on my description of the job over the phone. He honored that quote when he reviewed the job. He requested that I verify the location of utilities which was definitely a call based on experience as the gas line proved to be close to the job. His employee was pleasant and courteous and did the job even though there was light rain. He protected the adjacent area from damage and debris and cleaned up thoroughly when he finished. The job was scheduled and completed much sooner than I expected. Definitely recommend Gordon and his crew!

Ness asked the right questions, anticipated and took care of arranging something I hadn't (marking underground gas and water lines), arrived on time, and did a neat and quality job with friendly service--everything I could ask for. I have to agree with the high ratings for Ness that I used to make this choice.

While working with some concrete contractors, we determined we needed to get a stump ground down very quickly to prevent holding up my bigger project. I called Ness stump grinding and they were out at my house within 2 hours and completed the job extremely quickly. Ness stump grinding really got me out of a jam. I believe their prices are competitive, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. I paid $125 for one large stump to be ground, they did not haul away the chips because my other contractors took care of that for me. I think cheaper service providers could be found, but given the professional and amazing response time Ness provided, I am happy to pay a bit more for such fantastic service.

I called yesterday after checking Angie's list and saw that Ness was rated highly. We had a tree taken down in the center of our front yard and needed the stump ground. An appointment was set up yesterday and they came this afternoon as agreed and did the job very quickly. The workmen were very nice and efficient. I would certainly recommend them highly.

Gordon came out on a Friday and provided a verbal quote. I asked him to return again the following Wednesday to take another look at the job as I thought his initial bid was quite low given the large number of stumps to be removed. After reviewing the job site again, Gordon repeated his first bid of $3,500.00. I allowed a little more than a week to pass before calling Gordon back on a Thursday. We agreed that he would start the job on the following Friday morning. Gordon and an assistant with a second stump grinding machine arrived on time to start the job. The equipment used was fascinating and included a machine that Gordon operated by wireless remote control. I watched as it chewed up a 28 - 30 inch pine tree stump in less than two minutes. Gordon and his assistant started around 9:00AM and completed all 400+ stumps by 3:30PM that afternoon. I inspected many of the holes to find that the stumps had been removed well below ground level allowing for sufficient room for future landscaping whether that be grass or plants. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of Ness Stump Grinding services. They were thorough, on-time, professional and very courteous. If there is a need in our future for this type of service we will definitely contact Gordon Ness.

I called Greg and he came over within the hour to grind out a stump from a pear tree cut down. He was referred to me by TreeMonster. He had a robot that did the grinding. Fun to watch. I almost couldn't write the check fast enough before he was finished! Maybe 90 seconds start-to-finish. Since I'm planting another tree in its place he ground it out as deep as possible. Very polite, professional (good handshake, eye-contact. Important.) I have a heavily wooded lot. I'm sure I will call on him again.
