John was great to work with on our projects, from start to finish. He presented a clear idea of the work to be done, offered options and estimates, and followed-through on each project with thorough attention to detail. If we had any questions or minor problems, he answered or resolved them.

They did a great job. I had picked out the tile and was not sure of the grout to use. They recommended a color that worked perfect. They completed all the plumbing for tub and shower installation. the whole project was great.

John the home fixer was on time and listened well to what I wanted. He used his time and materials without waste. A am a reduce, reuse, recycle home owner. He had great respect for that and accommodated such needs.

I am so please to share with others my experience of working with John from Housefix Remodeling. Since the time he came to do my estimate, he walked me thru every step of the project. He personally took care of every single detail, he also created two beautiful custom framed mirrors using the same glass tile used for highlights in the rest of the bathroom. I was impressed with his professionalism, clear communication and appreciate his effort to keep everything clean at the end of the day. I love my new bathroom!!! I highly recommend Housefix Remodeling!

John is a highly recommended contractor in my neighborhood. Many of my neighbors have hired him for various jobs. I loved the window boxes on his own home, so I asked him to build some for me. He did an excellent job!! I expected no less because everyone rants and raves about his work. Anything from kitchen remodels to building retro mail boxes for my historic neighborhood. He was exactly on time, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and professional. The only drawback: I haven't bought any flowers to fill the boxes with yet! ha!! Thumbs up!

I initially used him for some trim, which went very well, as it was all stain-grade wood and needed a carpenter's finish. Later, I had a tile project for my kitchen which also went reasonably well. However, while he can do great work, including a 'going-the-extra-mile' installation of a bar in my basement, and has done several projects for me with positive results, this last project was disastrous. The project got bumped a few weeks initially due to another job, which was okay, then once he started, he stopped again for a few weeks, then while not-yet complete, demanded payment, so I paid him. He said he would come back and finish the work, which he did for a day-and-a-half, but there are still seams in the plaster, spots with missed paint, mud showing in spots, plaster on the newly laid carpet, black marks all over the trim, three electrical outlets that do not work, a light that is always barely on, he broke an old light cover and left glass all over the floor, needs touch-up paint in multiple spots. Additionally, in installing a bathroom vanity, my plumbing is now not working, and after installing the shower door, the shower now leaks all over the floor and onto my new vanity. It took a few more weeks to reschedule, and then he just didn't show, despite confirming the return date. Furthermore, it took him a week to even respond to my phone/ texts/ emails about the no-show, and when he responded, he simply said that he was finished with the job and did not have time to come back (he insisted that I could trust him to return, so I trusted him... he has now definitely lost my trust and respect). He completed about 80% of the items on his quote, but there are numerous problems, too, and he has yet to respond to calls and emails over the last few months. Normally, he is fair and goes the extra mile to be sure he meets customer expectations, but he definitely missed it this time. I am extremely disappointed with the outcome, and his unwillingness to even send an email, text, or call shows his intention to leave this job unfinished. In reply to his response, while we did have a detailed punch list, he did not complete the items on the list. They were basic items, too, like 'outlet does not work' and 'mud was not painted'. If leaving sections unpainted, outlets that do not work, showers that leak, and not responding to broken items in the house are considered 'high standards', then use him at your own risk.

Outstanding work. Worked with my architect very well, asked all the right questions. Performed demo, installation of heated floors, complex tiling, custom woodwork, insulation, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and all finishing. Absolutely a joy to work with--completely professional, prompt, communicates well, and he's the only person with a key to my residence and 10 rentals. His personal work is excellent, and he gets the same level of professionalism out of his crew. I never waited more than 30 minutes for a call to be returned, and he always responded immediately. Also, he actually went out of his way to bring up alternative solutions that would lower costs. His bids were always reasonable, never the cheapest, but if you've had work done before you know the joy of dealing with the 'endangered species'--the responsible professional contractor.
