Found no issues in the functioning of large unit, but claimed low voltage wire needed replacement. As this wire is outside and exposed to weathering, this seemed reasonable. After replacing low voltage wire large A.C. no longer functioned...subsequently found electrical short was the cause and charged $111.00 to "locate shorted wires." Apparently, the electrical short was caused by the repair procedure in replacing low voltage wire.
As an incidental issue, the original low voltage wire was coiled, which allowed the wire flexibility and give. The replacement low voltage wire is straight with limited give and flexibility in comparison to the original.
This company installed the original A.C. equipment in this house. While the large A.C. is used constantly, the smaller unit services a "bonus room" and is rarely, almost never used. The company recommends replacement of this smaller unit, as it is nearly ten years old, or a "leak search" on it for $160.00.

Less than 18 months after spending $3750 on a new air conditioning unit with AC4Life, our Air Conditioning Unit has broken and they are charging $750 in labor to repair it. They made a service call this past Saturday to look at it and said the coil would need replaced, and it would take approximately 4 hours at $175/hour. I would like to point out that this is a vacation home, so we do not even stress our air conditioners as we leave our thermostat on 78 degrees when we are not using the house!
I'm not sure what caused the unit to break, but we did purchase one of the units recommended by AC4Life in October 2012. So whether they are recommending inferior products, installed the unit shoddily, or are simply trying to get away with making service calls every 18 months to earn an extra $750, I'm not sure.
I definitely would not recommend AC4Life or any of the products they offer unless you want to be making nearly $1000 in repairs to your unit less than 18 months after installation. Find another contractor!
