This is a very falsified review on this customer.. This customer called My Brother Anthony and said she wanted to move forward with the project on the quote he gave her.. He asked her to call me (LOU) which everyone on here has said I am very courteous and nice to them and very professional. This customer called me and said I want a quote .. I than asked her my brother Anthony gave you a quote and said you want us to move forward. She said No I have 3 other quotes for $3300 and $3200 and $3000.. I than said well a permit is required and we have to pull the permit which BY LAW is not falsified for if a home owner pulls a permit themselves they will be in danger of one getting sued if someone gets hurt or 2 if job is improperly done they are responsible for it. She wanted me to try and match the other guys prices without permits and I said no We were not lowering the price. So she like my other previous bad reviews is upset because 1. I will not break the law and have her pull the permit . 2.I would not lower my price to the other guys because they are cheap. 3. Said we had the job than changed her mind. We have 0 bad reviews for work we have done with a customer. The only bad reviews we have here are from customers who wanted the price that they wanted. Did not want a permit or wanted to pull the permit themselves which I will never do. and 3 she is very upset that We didnt accommodate her needs which were the wrong ones. And once she said we were hired and then changed her mind to try and get us to lower the price. We told her thank you for the inquiry but we are not interested in your demands and our business will not put ourselves at risk or the customer at risk. So if being rude is following policy and laws I will take a bad review once again from a customer that I do not feel comfortable working with. This wasnt even for her house but for her daughters house which she is putting her daughter in a potential lawsuit situation by breaking the construction laws.. The only time a homeowner is allowed and can pull a permit is if he or she does their OWN WORK. They can be accountable for injury or improper work to be done if they hire someone under their permit. This is the law and customers should look into this before making the incorrect decision. We can not protect our customers if they pull a permit and someone gets injured on the job for they are acting as the general contractor. The only bad review this customer should be writing about are the other companies that told her nothing about a permit and 2 may have told her to pull her own permit and put her and her family member at risk...Service Provider Response
The customer asked to do a small job and we replied that we have a minimum.. She is upset because we gave her a minimum price like we do for all customers. Explaining to me that she wanted a pathway fixed I responded back to her by text since i was in a meeting as she texted me. We always leave a message on someones voicemail which was the day before and she texted me back. I have no idea why someone would be upset that we responded with we have a minimum as do other companies I call to do work at my own house. She is giving me a bad review because we have a minimum???? Once again I believe that reviews should be done on the job done and not the customer rating you a bad review because you have a minimum for projects. I guess bad customer service now a days is when you tell someone you have a minimum and they feel you should do the work for them at their price. We are a business and we can not work below our minimum charge which once again I explain to customers...She needs a permit and is looking for us to do pricing that accommodates her..Also she said she didnt get a VM but texted me the next day.. Funny know way of knowing it was me if i didnt leave a voicemail...Service Provider Response
I would first like to say that I was not interested in this job from the beginning due to the homeowners negligence on the way she wanted the job done. This customer was doing everything incorrectly and did not want us to pull permits at all. I explained that it is a liability for a homeowner to pull a permit and that we do not and will not work for someone who will not work with the liability laws and our policy. She kept stating it was her right to pull the permit and to do it her way. And I stated it was also our right to not be interested in her job. I will protect myself and any clients from their improper procedures. if she finds that rude I am ok with one person out of 100+ reviews and customers to say this for I will not jeopardize my company working for someone trying to improperly use the system in a way we do not feel comfortable with.. I also spoke to Juan at the city of Orlando and he said That you have to have a sign and flag people when you shut down a main road and is aware of this now. The homeowner stated that this was not true and Here is his phone number.Juan 407-246-3184 City of Orlando traffic control..He just stated to me that if it isnt done a $5000 fine can be applied. I just spoke to him and I proved once again that this review is negligent and very falsified. If at any time a homeowner pulls a permit it is under the agreement that the homeowner is doing his or her own work and not hiring a contractor that is improperly licensed. I therefore told her this and she got very irate and said i know what I'm doing. I am working to get this review down with Angies list for she is mad that I won't break our policy for her and certain construction laws for her and told her I was not going to work with her and did not want any emails from her because it's not worth the issues that may encounter. The other companies she talks of aren't even on Angies list they are guys who don't care and can not pull permits or can only work for a GENERAL CONTRACTOR. If being rude is obeying the rules than I am guilty as charged. I will also be calling the city to let them know what she is doing. I also did say we were very busy and we're unable to meet her time needs ,,,ONCE! again got upset and talked down to me. Please look at all our reviews and everyone we have worked with saying how wonderful we are and then please make your own decision. She got very loud with me as I continued to call her MAM and then hung up on her after she got very mean .We are a real company and will not take shortcuts. There are 2 licenses in the state of Florida which she also did not understand. The first is one that if you hire a contractor he can pull the permits or work for a home owner who ALSO needs to obtain Extra insurance for if anyone gets hurt its on the homeowner and they can be sued by a employee. The second license which most homeowners do not know about are the ones if someone tells you to pull a permit and you pull the permit they are not allowed to work for you but for a General contractor only. 90% of licenses out there when they tell you to pull the permit are the ones that will hurt the homeowner. I again explained this and got belittled and she acted as if I had no idea about my industry. We are not the top company on Angies list for no reason we are here and have seen Angies list boot a company out recently for not pulling permits and not having proper licenses. Please see below from Angies list blog about permits.. This really underscores the importance of hiring a licensed contractor. Unlicensed contractors can't pull permits for home improvement projects unless it's their own home. Often, when a permit is required but not pulled, it's a sign of a contractor who is cutting corners to save money. And as you unfortunately have learned, that will cost you, the homeowner, more in the long run. FLORIDA STATUE If you as owner obtain permits for the construction job, the law shifts a lot of responsibility and liability for the work away from the contractor and upon you. If you do not complete all of the work yourself, you must supervise the work, have proper extra home insurance and hire licensed trade subcontractors who can work for a home owner and not just a general contractor per their license.(electrician, plumbing, a/c,roof etc..) in accordance with Florida state law. Please remember that as you the homeowner try and hire the right contractor. I the Contractor will also only work for the homeowner who abides by the proper law and our company policies policies. I am very fortunate that in the 7 years with Angies list I have 2 bad reviews for work I didn't do because I did not feel comfortable with the customers decisions on their project. http://andreagoldmanlaw.blogspot.com/2008/07/building-permit-and-homeowner.htmlBlock work
