We make an appointment, bring her in and leave her for the day so they can bathe her. I think one other time we took her in when she wasn't feeling well. One time we saw the male doctor and one time we saw the woman doctor. Maybe because of Lucy's age it was reasonable, but sometimes we thought he was a little bit over zealous and tried to do tests and things. It ended up being quite a bit because he wanted to do all those tests. Maybe it was reasonable because of her age. We just didn't like having to pay for all those tests, but she is 16 years old. Most dogs don't live that old. Maybe he was right to want to find out. He wanted all these blood tests and things, but because of her age that might have been reasonable. We just didn't want to have to pay for all those tests. She is getting old and has arthritis really bad. She used to have such a voracious appetite, and not it's not always the case. Which the vet told us is normal when they get to be that age. The price was reasonable because they actually did a little bit of grooming because the vet said she needed it when we had her there the day before. Most people say this is a bargain. It was not total grooming because she is not the kind of dog that you cut. They just did it around where she pottys because they said there was too much hair around there. It was getting in the way of her being able to potty. So it's part because she is sold old and its harder for her to potty. They said that would help keep her from smelling there and everything. She has a lot of hair and it was right around where she pottys. So they just did it around there, it wasn't like a total grooming. But still I don't think they charged us any more for that than they did for the bath. They just counted that in because she said that they needed it to be done. So it's not like oh they cut all her hair, but she is not that kind of dog that you groom. I was even happier with the vet than we saw the previous time. It's the same hospital but there's more than one vet that works there. They know Lucy and they take care of her. We wouldn't go anywhere else at this point in our lives.

I told them that she would not take the pain medicine, because she is old; she is over 16 years old, they prescribed before. So they prescribed a different pain medicine, which has been working out great because she has been taking it and it seems to be making her feel better. It's kind of a situation where everybody likes them. Because they are so popular, I don't know if they have more than 2 veterinarians in there but those are the only two I have seen, sometimes you have an appointment but you don't get seen right away. Somebody got upset and was really nasty. They walked out and said "I have an appointment at this time and you're not taking me at this time." I guess I'm more sympathetic because I have an old dog and it could be that something could happen and we would need to bring her in without an appointment. They had an emergency where somebody's dog was really sick and they worked them without an appointment, and that must have made somebody mad. My husband and I didn't complain, we just sat there and waited. I could sit here and complain and say "well they didn't see me right away", I didn't like it and I was little annoyed, but I understand that they wanted to help that animal that was real sick that didn't have an appointment. It's all in your perspective. If you're the person with the sick dog then you're happy, but if you're sitting there in the waiting room with a dog that just needs its shots and is not sick and you still get irritated because you are waiting. It's all in your perspective. We figure they're a good vet so they're going to be busy. If they're not busy then maybe you need to be concerned about that because then maybe they're not so good. They got a little upset because one person got mad and said they didn't want to wait and walked out complaining. And their dog didn't look very sick. I don't remember the amount. Even though we had to sit and wait past the appointment time we were happy with her concern about Lucy's pain and that she was going to try and find something that will help her feel better. I mean we don't' have anything to complain about except that we had to wait because of that sick dog. Some people say they are more expensive than other vets, but I would say they are average. They weren't great, but they weren't bad. I mean they do have to make a living. I just go pay it. If I am happy with the person I go pay it. Unless I think it's really outrageous. I mean it wasn't outrageous or anything. I was happy when I left. I thought they were showing good concern for Lucy.

Dr. Dunham, the veterinarian, is very good.

I liked their services. They knew what they were talking about and the staff was friendly. They took care of my dog. The staff attended me very good and they helped me with the food. The price was reasonable for the two big boxes of food that I bought. I did not have an appointment but I just appeared because my dog was sick and they received me; I was a walk-in patient with my dog.

He's excellent at what he does and very informative.  I've been to others in the area and really like the way he does business.
