I think there was some confusion in the beginning because the salesperson was under the impression that [member name removed] wanted the best, most energy efficient units available. When we installed the systems in your neighbors home we installed basic Carrier 16 seer systems. This is why the price was different compared to what we had given to your neighbor. Again, my apologies for the confusion. I know Clark tried to reach your husband over the phone several times to go over the difference, but was unsuccessful. We strive to provide quick response times whenever a customer is having issues, and I believe we did that for you. In addition, when other problems were found after the compressor was replaced, I show we did not charge you anything extra to fix the bad fan motor. Again, we apologize for the multiple issues but sometimes these are out of our control. Thank you for the feedback."

Fortunately, parts and labor were covered, not sure if by original warranty or by the extended warranty that I fortunately have. Anyway, no cost, thank goodness.
I signed up for semi-annual maintenance, and hope I get Fred back to do that work. The price of that seems high, but I suspect it's competitive.

However, this is the 4th or 5th time they have come to review the problem in the attic. They have swapped one thing after another, and, at length, spoken with the office while here to determine a cause.
All to no avail
Further, they cut 2 3" hole in the plenum in the attic and added a reducer to the return, all of which only exacerbated the problem.
The last tech, Chuck, said that he would have one of the owners call to come see. NO CALL, EVER.
Finally, called upon Custom Air Designs , and they found a loosened piece of the system's insulation, covering the blower, inside the air handler.
