Went with DKI because (at 120 mi away) they were the closest of the two companies recommended by the insurer. It wasn't until after initial deposits were paid that I found out the project manager was a new hire and we were his first job. With a 240 mi round trip, he could only show up for a few hours once or twice per week. Although he was somewhat knowledgeable in reconstruction, he had a hard time getting his boss to sign-off on the stuff he promised me. Their pack-out team (mostly 18 to 20 year-olds) seemed to have a lead but no manager. The entire contents of the house had to be emptied, but they had only arranged for one storage pod to be placed in the driveway. At my insistence, they had a 2nd one placed 3 days later and my wife and I moved into a nearby motel for 30 days. The pack-out team (DKI employees) were diligent in inventorying, wrapping, and boxing the household belongings, however they had no common sense or direction when loading-up the storage pods. They had both storage pods filled-up with boxes of lightweight items (including lampshades, paintings, video tapes and air), while all the large heavyweight stuff (beds, dressers, weight bench, tables) remained in the house. I told the lead "You've got it backwards. All the heavy and bulky stuff goes in the pods first. Then if it won't all fit, we stack some boxes of lightweight stuff in the center of each room in the house, and we can easily move those around during the drywall, painting and carpeting work." I made them unload and re-load the storage pods. It's a good thing that I was unemployed at the time, so I was able to to be at the house every day and whenever any workers were there. Most of the time it seemed that I was the project manager, as I directed the mold guys, the drywall and cabinet guys, the painters, and the carpet installer, etc. I had to re-do their measurements for the kitchen cabinets and even submitted my own drawings to insure that each cabinet ordered was the proper size and shape to fit our kitchen. The project manager thought he could do this by phone from 120 mi away, but kitchen cabinets are too detailed for that. The painting subcontractors used minimal primer and tried to get away with only one coat on everything, but I had to call their boss and DKI to make them come back and do another coat. DKI also sent-up a "jack-of-all-trades" guy who did a concete block and stucco repair on the exterior and smaller drywall, taping, joint compound and finish-up work on the interior. In the end, all of the work was completed somewhat satisfactorily, but I felt that I had expended at least $5,000 worth of my own labor on the project. If I had not been there everyday double-checking appraisals and contracts, managing the work being done (and inspecting the work), and getting deficient work corrected or re-done, and making countless calls to DKI (and even to their subcontractors), this project would have taken more than twice as long and would have never been successfully completed!

Not very well-the initial service was great but the rebuild was a nightmare! Customer Rep was a hot mess!

The teams Regency sent to my house were awesome. They were friendly and completed the work quickly and efficiently. I liked them so much I hired the renovation team to complete the work. Very happy with Regency.

William Franklin was very responsive and promptly arrived to my home once phone call was completed. William upon arrival, was very professional and attentive to my concerns surrounding property water damage. William assessed the area and performed the necessary steps to secure and treat the area.

William Franklin is amazing. He got a call from our owners and he was out trhe next day. He super sweet and really knowledgeable. He answered all my questions. And even the million phone calls I had for him. He and his co worker are doing everything in their power to get me and my family back into our home. He is a HUGE assets to three company!

They did a fantastic job

They were just horrible. They were the contractor that the insurance company recommended. And they cut corners, they undercharged and they took a $28,000 tile job and turned it into a $9,000 tile job. It kept us out of the house another month because they took guys from an hour and a half way down in Hollywood and paid them what was supposed to be $9500 they paid this company $4,000 to do the tile and they screwed up so bad that it took 18 days to do the tile and then it took another 15 days to repair what they did. They told me and the insurance company that I would be back in my house for the 15th, it didn't happen and so I charged them $80 a day extra for not being in there. They said I can't do that, I said yes I can, I own the home, I have the money and I got an email telling me you're going to be in. I turned down an RV spot and there was no more there because of the season down here, I was just, like, yes I can do it and so they're getting paid $1,500 less. They ruined six pieces of furniture and the day I was called they said it was supposed to be ready today. I called the girl and she said she was busy. She said let me call you back. That was, like, at 10 o clock yesterday morning and they never did call me back. If it wasn't for me threatening that I had my own contractor -- they called me up and said we're going to be two months later in starting your place. We've got to many other jobs to do and I said that's okay I said I'll find somebody else to do it. Next day they were out here.

Mold remediation - completed satisfactorily and timely ~ 5 months ago. They prepared and contracted to finish the job with demo and repair services; unable to start or complete work; gave false information (stated order submitted by email communication) regarding material order after they were provided insurance money to cover mold remediation and material cost. Of note they told us on day of job start they would be unable to perform work w/o explanation other than they "dropped the ball" and were "sorry". They agreed to refund the money ( which they did ) and offered some recommendations for "honest and professional contractors". The Project remains unfinished after 5 months of no master bathroom/bedroom. Material yet to be ordered. Now in process of getting new bids and reordering necessary materials delay of additional 1-2 more months. Ratings above reflect overall services performed or promised. All individuals who came to job site were excellent and professional. Low ratings are d/t management level issue with regard to dishonesty about job status and material orders.
