I couldn't ask for a smoother process, it was flawless. They took care of the permit and dealt directly with my home owner association. No deposit was required to start the job, payment was only required at the end of the job. The owner came by at the end of the job to insect everything after completion. Everyone was helpful and happy. Although it wasn't the lowest bid for the job, it was the best company. I went with my gut, it cost just a tiny bit more, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend this company. Sorry it took so long for my recommendation. It wasn't on the top of my to-do list.
I'm glad I have the shutters. Ready for the hurricane season!

I have used Angie's list over a dozen times to fix up my abode that I purchased as a foreclosure. This company is far and away the best company with an abundance of integrity.

They did NOT take one cent UNTIL I passed inspection. Guardian completed the work on 8/4 and the inspection was completed on 8/18. I just dropped the check in the mail for the full payment.

The crew worked so hard and would not take water, beer, and would NOT accept me buying them lunch! They worked hard for four and a half hours straight during 90 degree heat in August. After they broke their stones putting up everything, they cleaned up their mess and put everything back almost perfectly. AMAZING.

Enough said.

Brian and his colleague were wonderful.  I was under a time crunch and they performed the installation with ease and in less than three hours.  I was truly impressed by their professionalism and ongoing communication process with me during the installation.
Also, as I mentioned in a previous post prior to the installation, Andy (the owner) and Shelly (Andy's assistant) are phenomenal. 
I look forward to having my 11 windows completed by Guardian as well as soon as I receive approval from the condo Home Owner's Association.

Andy the owner came out and provided a written estimate on the spot after taking measurements around the house. The estimate was very competitive and in-line with what I was expecting considering it's a better product than what others offer. Everything he explained in terms how the shutters would be installed, particularly how a couple of tricky sliding doors would be done was exactly as stated. He described the crew and lead person that would be on site and that's exactly who showed up. All in all, very good attention to detail.
The person in the office who we worked with to prepare the documents for HOA approval, was very helpful and prompt. After color samples didn't arrive by mail, she drove out and dropped them off at our house the the next morning after we called late the day before to say the samples weren't received. She also emailed us our HOA's required paperwork, which was filled out with all the information they could provide. It was a nice touch to have that kind of head start on the paperwork.
They were able to move up the installation date by a few days, so we agreed to have it done sooner. That morning, the crew arrived on time but we found that the parts were not the color we had chosen. I figured it would be a few days before they would come out again to do the install. It's not like we were expecting a hurricane any time soon, so it wouldn't have been a problem. But the crew immediately went back to the warehouse, and with the help of another crew, got all the parts made in the correct color. That same day the crew came back and installed everything during the afternoon. That certainly exceeded my expectations and shows their commitment to getting it right without delay. The following day, some final caulking was done by the crew lead because heavy rain the day before prevented caulking from being completed. He knocked on the door to check if we had any questions. Also, that same day the owner came out to check the work and apologized for the hiccup with the wrong color.
They scheduled the inspection for the day after the install was complete, and came out that morning to leave a ladder for the inspector. They came by at the end of the day to pick up the ladder.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work done and quality of the interactions I had with the Guardian Storm Protection team.

Andy was very informative and everything was made crystal clear to us. They are the only company that doesnt charge you until the job is completed AND all permits are issued. The reason for is that they stand behind their workmanship etc. Extremely professional and they gave me peace of mind. I cant recommend them highly enough.

The owner convinced us about the quality & open thin stack design as well as recessed track recommendations for the sliders. So we went with Guardian even though they were several hundred more than a competitor. I also liked that they employed their own regular crew.

Guardian was prompt and the installation was perfect: efficient, competent and thorough. My questions were answered courteously. It is remarkable that they wanted no payment until after the final inspection.

These guys were amazing. I have owned my home since 2009 and figured that our luck was running out and that we are due for a big storm. I was hesitant to buy accordion style shutters because some of the homes in my neighborhood have them and they are ugly, bulky, and look like they need repair. I met with Ops Mgr Brett, who not only alleviated my concerns, but showed me how with their superior product and design, they would make the shutters as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Not only was their product clearly better, but their price was right in line with the "other guys".  A few weeks after agreeing on the contract the shutters were installed in  about 7 hours. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, consulting with me along the way on any issues or questions they had. When the job was completed, I had a few concerns that the owner, Andy promptly addressed and corrected. I literally had a call within 5 minutes of sending the email at 9pm!  Within a couple days the job was complete, inspection passed, far exceeding my expectations. I wish every contractor was as good as Guardian - tough to find an owner and company that truly cares, especially in South Florida. Kudos to Andy, Brett, Shelly, and the whole Guardian crew.

We are part time residents so it is always difficult to schedule work.  The Guardian sales representative showed up at the appointed time to meet with me.  He measured the space for the estimate and provided an estimate late that evening.  They were one of three prices I solicited.  The price was reasonable and based on Angie's list, I awarded the job to them.  Since we were leaving in a few days, they were able to rearrange their schedule so that they could measure the balcony for fabrication.  Coordination with Shelly on the paperwork for Condo Association approval and the building permit was seamless.  Installation was coordinated via e-mail for our next trip.  The installation team showed up on time and within a few hours the shutters were installed.  The cleaned up all of their installation debris and let the balcony very clean. The installers showed me how to open and close the shutters and a few tips to make operation easier. Again due to time constraints, they were able to coordinate the building inspector for a day after the installation.
I highly recommend using them.

I scheduled an appointment with Shelly, the office manager, mid-February 2015 and Andy, the owner, came by the house a few days later.  On the day of the appointment, Andy provided all the details and cost estimates for both aluminum panels and accordion shutters and provided pros and cons for both materials. I reviewed the estimates and did my due diligence and obtain other estimates.  Based on Andy's professionalism, knowledge for the job and guarantee for the work, I chose to go with Guardian.  About a two weeks later of first appointment, I provided to Shelly with all the necessary documents, HOA POC, etc. Shelly and her crew took care of the HOA contacts approvals and all permits.  Two weeks later, I received a call from Shelly to schedule an appointment for the installation.  I initially was told the permit process would take approximately 3 weeks, so I was very surprised and excited with the smooth and quick process. The following week, Guardian came by to install and the crew (approximately 3-4 men) got the job done within a few hours.  They worked fast and most importantly cleaned after themselves.  Andy later came by to check the work and install mini-round windows.  I later found that one was missing and Andy came right back and took care of it.  The inspection also went smooth and quick (no issues) and once the work was completed and passed inspection, I paid Andy via check.  His company does not want to get paid until his customer is satisfied and passes inspection.
I would HIGHLY recommend Any and his company!!!

It started with Angie's List: I searched for top-notch shutter firms and Guardian was at the top.  I contacted Guardian and they were very responsive and had a person right out to survey.  Completed quote on site and included a discount due to Angie's LIst member :)
First part of job: removal.  All but two of nine shutters down quickly by one person.  Worker left >12 long SS screws in the yard.  I contacted Andy Kobosko, the owner.  Andy was VERY apologetic and personally came out to police the area and then remove the final two shutters.  Needless to say, no debris left behind.
Installation of new shutters took less than half a day since they brought a crew of five.  First-rate workmanship and spotless install. Passed final permit inspection easily.
I planned to pay for job on ccard, but was advised that they stopped taking them.  They agreed to update their contract in the future to make this obvious to the customer.
So, there were a couple of hiccups with this job, but I really appreciated was their (especially Andy, the owner) insistence in my satisfaction.  They truly want it to be done right and you to love it.  They know they live or die based on Angie's List-type of reviews.  I have no reservations in recommending them.  Yes, I'm satisfied!

The Salesman Brett was very informative and told us exactly what would be furnished and how the process would work  The installation went exactly as described and very professionally.  Brian came to install the shutters with three other employees of the company and they did a great job in about 3 hours(17 openings).  I have recommended them to a number of friends one of which signed up to have them installed and would use them again if I need shutters on another home.

I found the owner was exceedingly professional and cordial. The workers were very nice. I did have one minor issue and they came back the next day and fixed that. The owner didn't ask for payment until the work was complete and the county signed off on it.

This was an excellent job from the beginning. Andy first met with us and showed us the different options available to protect the windows on the back and sides of the house (we already have hurricane impact windows placed by the builder on the front of the house). We reviewed impact windows, accordion shutters and hurricane mesh and he gave us his expert opinion regarding the best options. We concluded that the shutters was a better option for us. Even though this was not a cheap project it was cheaper than installing hurricane impact windows (we have a lot of large windows on the back of the house) and the quality of his shutters is top notch (we had accordion shutters at our previous house and the difference is day and night. This shutters are of a much superior quality and build, they are not bulky and also very easy to use ). He told us that the installation was going to take place in approximately 5 to 6 weeks but they were ready to install the shutters 2 weeks after we place the order. We actually had to wait for the HOA to meet to approve the project before they could do the installation and that was the only hold up. The installation was perfect and was done in one day and they were very clean and professional. We didn't have to pay a dime until the job was completed, the county permits approved and we were satisfied with the final product and installation. I can highly recommend this company without hesitations.
