The company, from first estimate appointment to final delivery, was fantastic. The movers on both ends of the process were prompt, knowledgeable, polite and took care of our items "like they are our own", It was a smooth, seamless and positive moving experience for us and we will use their services again.

Not well. Although Nick on the sales team was very responsive and helpful, things started poorly and went downhill from there: - The scheduled Saturday morning pickup actually started Sunday evening and lasted until Monday morning - The truck appeared to be leased and had the DOT number handwritten on it. - The truck was two small for the job. (We had to hire ANOTHER moving company, at the last minute, to help with the items Greek wasn't able to take.) Greek was able to deliver our household items as scheduled, which was welcome news. However, things again rapidly went downhill: - Many items arrived broken. We take responsibility for the items we packed. But Greek didn't seem sympathetic about the broken items THEY packed. (Lesson learned: pack assuming the boxes will be dropped.) - One piece of furniture arrive COMPLETELY destroyed. (Literally, in pieces.) - A couple of the wardrobe boxes arrived completed crushed. Some clothes were damaged in the process. (Lesson learned: pack your valuable clothes in a sturdier container.) - One of the sofas had damaged legs. (Lesson learned: If you can detach them, do it.) These are ordinary, expected things, and we don't fault Greek for these damages. But what Greek did next upset us: - When delivering to the new house, the driver accidentally drove over and destroyed the house water meter box. We had to pay the local utility company to have it replaced. For weeks, Greek denied any responsibility, but eventually agreed to reimburse us. (Lesson learned: immediately take photos when this type of damage occurs.) - The crew acted like they didn't understand what "Fragile" means. We routinely saw them load heavy items on top of boxes marked "Fragile". Heaven only knows what happened in the warehouse! (Lesson learned: pack fragile items accordingly, or consider having someone other than a bulk moving company handle your more delicate belongings.) - Greek fulfilled their moving contract and paid our claim for lost and damaged goods, but that settlement was for pennies on the dollar and the final payment was nowhere near the actual cost of the damages. (Lesson learned: pay for the "upgrade" moving insurance.) - Even after we all agreed on what damage Greek would and would not pay for, and how much we would be paid, Greek took almost five (5) months to actually send a check. Knowing what we know now, we would not hire Greek Moving and Storage again.

I was beyond satisfied with Good Greek Moving & Storage. Robert Lopez scheduled an appointment arrived on time and the price he quoted was the price I paid. The moving crew sent to my home were not only cordial and respectful, but packed at the highest level I've seen. Every piece was wrapped!! The truck was packed and they took every opportunity to make sure I felt comfortable with their work. I will absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for professional movers who will get the job done with a high level of quality!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.. ruined my brand new refrigerator.$700 just for the parts not including installation..they offered $50!! BE CAREFUL... they don't tell you about travel time costs $129 or 13% fuel charge.. was on their cell phones most of the time and went MIA when they were going from one house to the next, I was charge $96 for fuel when they went 1.7 miles!!! extremely rude in the comptrollers office. Had to file with the BBB!!! I will not stop until movers get regulated...
Response from Greek Moving & Storage

"We appreciate your feedback. As you stated, you filed a complaint with the BBB who DECIDED IN OUR FAVOR. Furthermore, you filed a CHARGEBACK for your move even after we waived your travel fee and gave you an additional discount. Unfortunately, we cannot also buy you a new refrigerator, as you requested. Again, thank you for your feedback."

Movers themselves were excellent- very professional and hard working. Issue is regarding pricing. Was given a quote of $900. Asked to come for estimate but refused saying, "We don't need to come out. $900." After move completed (and took longer than they expected), was charged $1700. Was able to negotiate to $1300. Not ideal, but had to do it so our belongings wouldn't be held hostage. Biggest issue is why not come to home for estimate when requested??? Would have alleviated issue all together. Also, movers "lost" a desk. It went into the truck and was not there upon emptying. How do you lose a desk in a 6 mile trip? Suspect it broke (it was glass) and movers covered it up.
Response from Greek Moving & Storage

"Thank you for your feedback. We really wish you would have requested an in-home estimate as we have a dedicated staff of qualified in-home estimators with over 50 years of combined experience for that task. We also offer guaranteed flat-rate pricing for many of our moves, especially for customers with specific budgeting needs. We also wish you would have contacted us if you were missing any items as we have an immediate response time for claims. Again, thank you for your feedback."

This was our second move with this company. Crew was punctual. Showed up on time and they were efficient. They did light assembly and ensured all furniture pieces were placed where we desired. Unfortunately there was some significant damage done to a wall in our new home during the move. The lead mover took pictures of damage and indicated that Greek Moving would contact us and handle the repairs. I didn't hear back regarding this issue so we contacted them directly and provided pics of damage. I was then told that the insurance I selected did not cover damage to structures. I didn't "select" an insurance option and the insurance options were never discussed with me by the sales rep or the lead mover. They will ask you to sign the contract in the middle of the move when things are hectic and clearly they selected the insurance option without informing me. Beware and ensure you understand the insurance coverage and contact terms in advance of the move and before you sign the contract. This was clearly signed by us and we are bound by the contract we signed but the discussion about the repairs with the lead mover were very misleading and the contract process was handled poorly. I will not be using Greek Moving again in the future and sadly can no longer recommend them.

They were prompt, professional, and courteous. They were also attentive, fulfilling my requests the day of the move. They wrapped every piece. Price was very fair. Only had minor damage on 2 pieces that I myself could fix. Very well done -- I would recommend them to anyone.

The sales rep was courteous, professional and responsive, and the team sent to pack did a good job. Goods arrived at both locations with items damaged and missing. I sent emails with photos, and left voice messages, but could not get a response. After I wrote that I would report them to Angie's List, I finally received a call, more than a month after first contacting them regarding the damage. I was told that they estimated the value of loss and damage at $280 and offered $100 to settle. I responded that their valuation was unrealistically low and said I would provide my own. I researched the internet to obtain the competitive cost of replacing the damaged or missing items. Two of the items were antiques for which a retail replacement was not available: a floor lamp in which a brass foot was broken off and a mirror in which part of the carved wood frame was broken off and lost. For these, I listed the actual cost I incurred to have an antiques repair company fabricate a "fix," which, in neither case, were they able to match the original design (thus permanently reducing the value of these items). I sent the documented cost/repair list back to Greek Moving, indicating a total value of $1,072.90. This included the cost for 5 items ranging from $46 to $450, and did NOT include the lost value of the two antique pieces. (I originally paid about $1,200 for these two items; now they are garage sale pieces.) Upon receiving my estimate for the value of repair/replacement, the company called to offer compensation totaling $15. When I asked about $100 I was previously offered, I was told that $15 was all that I was "legally entitled to." Later, after receiving the email with their offer, it was raised to $27. Throughout this process, the person assigned to handle my claim was patronizing and condescending. During our initial conversation, he tried to pressure me to sign the release for $100, after which I told him I only wanted to correspond in writing. He continued to call me after this with the same pressure to sign. Notwithstanding all the legal restrictions built into standard contracts for moving, my experience with previous moving companies in handling claims has been generally very fair. This was not the case with Greek Moving. (Based on many previous moves, I found moving insurance companies generally disreputable with policies containing so many restrictions that it is extremely difficult to ever collect for damages. This conclusion was confirmed by the owner of the last moving company I used.) Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with their handling of my claim. These moves cost $17,000 (plus a last minute charge of $995 for two weeks storage when I needed to delay the move into NYC. In addition, I directed a third move to Greek, by the family that bought my house.) After all this, to offer $27 is unreasonable, even insulting. As a business owner myself, I would never treat a client as I was treated by this company.
