Steady Hand Paint did a great job with the interior paint work, including repairing some damaged plaster, priming the walls, and painting the walls. Steady Hand provided an accurate, reasonable quote, and began work promptly after accepting the offer. It took some work to get the crew on the right page, but otherwise, they did a thorough quick job and cleaned up well. Additionally, Steady Hand stopped by the house at several points to make sure the work was being performed right, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the crew did not focus on re-caulking several interior windows, removing the old caulking and leaving the interior rooms incredibly drafty during the week-long cold snap in Atlanta. The crew also left a mess outside the house while removing the old caulk. To Steady Hand's credit, though, they promptly refunded us the money for the caulking work. Overall, Steady Hand is a very respectable local business and I recommend them for painting work.

Michael Haggerty and Steady Hand Painting did the kind of job on my 1919 Craftsman bungalow very few painting companies can do. Besides the extensive and delicate renovation work described above, their attention to lines and detail during the painting process itself was superb. The place honestly looks like a show piece now. More pluses: Michael and his crew show up when they say they ll show up. They are conscious and competent re: lead abatement issues (a factor in old houses). Their 5-year guarantee is bona fide (two years after the fact, a couple places needed a touch-up; one phone call and the problem areas were fixed within a couple days). Finally, prices are extremely reasonable given this level of quality. Steady Hand has done all my interior work since this first job. You won't go wrong by calling Steady Hand Painting.

Mike, the owner, was very prompt in providing an estimate- he came to our house within an hour of calling him. Although this was a small job, Mike scheduled the work immediately and the quality of the painting was excellent.

They matched the paint on the other walls perfectly. They came out in a timely manner and finished the job within an hour. Their finished price was as quoted on the estimate. I'm not sure what kind of paint they used, but it looks great.

Steady Hand Painting is by far the best. Mike and his crew were punctual, easy to work with, and left the job site looking good every night. The estimate was accurate and the price was fair. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations. We have recommended them to friends and neighbors who have used them and have been equally impressed.

Mike the owner was prompt in arriving for the estimate but slow in getting the estimate to us. Doing a lot of the work ourselves, we hired them to finish what was left (mainly windows and trim) so that it was ''paint ready''(we are painting ourselves). Mike is very knowledgeable about the trade. The problem was that the details weren't communicated to the foreman so he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Because the job was pieces here and there, everyday I had to remind them what to do. The workers did a good job in stripping, not thorough in prepping holes, wood damage, etc. The contract wasn't specific enough so that when I reminded them to do certain things, like replace glass or do the reglazing, it was ''not in the contract''. Mike was cooperative though and pretty much did as requested. The crew was careful in cleaning up site but careless about my new landscaping (I lost new plants). They were the most expensive. Not sure it was worth the price, but they did a decent job.
Response from STEADY HAND PAINTING LLC
"I HAVE BEEN DRIVING BY YOUR HOME AND THE EXTERIOR IS STILL LOOKING VERY GOOD ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS JUST PAINTED. I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THE CREW HAD DAMAGED THE LANDSCAPING. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN THE FUTURE AND I WILL HAVE THEM REPLACED. JOBS THAT ARE ABANDONED BY HOME OWNERS ARE SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT AND I AM SORRY IF IT WAS CONFUSING TO US. KEEP IN MIND $2700 FOR AN EXTERIOR PAINT-JOB IS NOT A HIGH COST ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU GOT THE BEST PAINT ON THE MARKET (RETAILING AT $60 A GALLON). IN FACT, WE ONLY CHARGED YOU $40 FOR THIS PAINT PER GALLON. IF YOU PAY MUCH LESS THAN $2700 YOU MAY REGRET THE RESULTS YOU GET WITH AN UNINSURED UNPROFESSIONAL PAINTER. I THINK YOUR HOME WILL LOOK GREAT FOR ANOTHER 8 YEARS OR SO. OUR PRICING REMAINS COMPETITIVE, OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 2001 IN A INCREASINGLY COMPETITIVE MARKET. MIKE"

THE TEAM WAS ON TIME, EXTREMELY CLEAN AND CAREFUL WITH OUR HARDWOOD FLOORS, AND DID A GREAT JOB. THE WHOLE PROJECT WAS FINISHED IN 1 DAY, WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE GIVEN THE ORIGINAL COLORS OF THE WALLS AND THE VOLUME OF SPACE. ALSO, MICHAEL HAGGERTY, THE OWNER, WAS EXTREMELY TOLERANT OF MY FIRST HAVING THE POWER GO OUT ON THE DATE OF THE ESTIMATE, AND THEN BEING LATE TO THE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT.
