Want to give the staff and crew at Certified Roofers a huge thank you! What an amazing company to work with. From the initial meeting with Kyle until the job was completed. This level of customer service is hard to find nowadays. I had my roof replaced by them Aug 2024 and I'm extremely happy with the outcome, the installation was top notch. There were no surprises and everything they promised was delivered. There was a small hiccup in the install but they made it right. I highly recommend them and I would definitely use them again!

Continued from previous review: Visited the property after I was contacted by Alex that the crew was wrapping up and the final inspection by the County was called for. The inspection was completed and approved the next day and I walked the roof and found the workmanship to be outstanding. The roof looks GREAT and Alex's crew went the extra mile and painted my lead vent shields brown to match the ridge vent color. A nice touch and just shows how much the team members want the roof to look great! Could not find any debris on the grounds and saw that the crew took the extra time to ensure that my gutters were not damaged and that they were cleaned out! While at the property one of my neighbors stopped by and asked me what I thought as the crew was on the property and had the entire job completed in about a day and a half? He said he wanted his roof done and I told him that I would DEFINITELY suggest he use Certified Roofers and contact Alex for a quote. I told him that he would not find a better company nor person in Alex Sanchez to work with to make sure that his roof was professionally installed. I did have more wood decking in need of replacement than I had expected, but Alex included 6 sheets of plywood (not OSB) in my estimate and the extra sheet cost was reasonable! Don't hesitate to contact Certified Roofers & General Contractors when one is considering a new or replacement roof! Alex and his team know what they are doing and they get it done fast and RIGHT!

We would highly recommend Certified Roofers, they did an excellent job with our reroof last week. We received estimates from 6 companies and Certified was right in the middle but included all plywood (The others included 3 to 5 and I think we ended up needing 5. It gave us good peace of mind). They were professional, prompt and polite, always followed up and returned our calls when we had questions. The job was finished on time (under 2 days) and they cleaned up when it was complete. We chose Owens Corning TruDef shingles and they look great. Alex, Damien and Stephanie were a pleasure to work with.

Eddie showed up a bit late due to traffic (certainly not his fault) and gave a concise and informative presentation. His no nonsense, up front, this-is-what-we-do type of approach resonated with me. His guys showed up on time, were very concerned with doing a great job and worked very hard. I'm so impressed with their diligence, attention to detail and professionalism.

Everything Eddie described in the presentation came true....well mostly. He said they would have the roof done in 3 days...it took them about 2.5 days. Not bad, boys, not bad at all. There were no last minute surprises, all the paperwork was done on time, inspections completed.  We could not be more pleased.

The first day, the crew came out and had the old shingles & tar paper tore off and replaced any bad plywood.  They also had the new tar paper on.  The second day they to tear it off because it was supposed to be all peel-n-stick.  Still by the end of the second day they had almost all the new shingles on.  By the end of the third day, the roof was complete and they cleaned up all the nails & tar paper.  I also had them get someone to install new rain gutters. This was included in the price. The roof & rain gutters look great.   I was please with Certified and would use them again.

Not very well. They come out at a time and did a spiel saying here is all the stuff we are going to do other than actual replacing the roof tiles none of the other stuff that they said that they were going to do they did. I live in Florida and was the first to use plywood for her hand protection I think that is a requirement, my guess is I do not know this for sure, my guess is they did not do that. He said they were going to do that. But they did not do anything else that they said they were going do. They said they were going to remove all of the gutters and flashing off the roof as a part of putting a new roof that did not happen. They were going to clean out the dryer vent. The dryer vent exits up through the roof they were going to clean that out they did not that. Then when you attach the dryer vent they put a new vent on the roof they did not even attach the dryer pipe to it. We have some problems with rats in the attic. There was places where the rates were getting they were going to plaster that. We had put in some foam in there. That spray foam that sort of foams up and hardens but the rats can chews through that so they are going to put a piece of metal in there to close that off and I want to get in on one side and not the other side. They were going to adjust one of the gutters that was not leveled right, so if the water was not flowing in the right direction they did not do that until we pestered them about it. All the little stuffs that they said they were going to do they did not do anything. Then after they were done we thought we had the rat problem taken care of. Now there is rats back in the attic and my guests says they are coming through the dryer vent that they put in the new dryer vent. I insisted over and over again would not allow rats to com in. They will look you straight in the eye and lie to you. The guy who comes and does the sales all the things he says he is going to do he will not do but other than putting in a roof on the house. He will strip of few tiles and put on new tiles. He says he will take all the flashings and gutters down he won’t do that. He says that he will put the ring hose for hand protection, I doubt that he did that, I do not really know. There is some question when he was done, he did not even whether he got the final inspections or not for the permanent. If somebody does want to go with this guy I suggest you just watch him like a hawk. When he is doing his spiel have him write down everything and insist on seeing pictures. Show me a picture of my house with gutters taken off of it. I want you prove all these things that you said you going to do and then I would suggest not paying that guy until all that stuff has been proven. Until he has done everything he said he was going to do don’t pay him. Put a little pressure you will pay him at the end. This guy will look you straight in the eye without blinking and straight outright to you. He comes across as being very sincere, very truthful and he is not. He is generally there when he said he was going to be there. The guy has did the work real fast and so they got a lot of stuff done you got a whole crew up on the roof. They go through stuff real quick and if you think you are going to come home from check on something then may have taken the whole stuff off and put the new stuff on and you cannot see anymore. You will know oh crap he did do it or didn’t he do it that is why I said I will have him show pictures of your house because he will show you pictures of somebody else’s house. This is what we do we take everything off the roof and he did not do that. He must have showed me a picture of my house that looks the same as the picture of the other house you show me in your little sales book there and make him do that that is not what he did. Not even close. I would not recommend them to anybody here. I would say stay away from them. If you want to go with them make sure you stand on them like a hawk and get the proof and wait till you have got everything your sure he has done everything before you give him the money check on the permanent inspection, you have to do a lot more work. Just trusting the guy and do what he is said he is going to do, don’t do that.

We started with a contract in April 2013 and were told it would be done by June 2013.  Then it became July; August; September; and finally it was done sometime around mid-October.  Workers were all really nice people.  Promising of completion dates/product delivery and communication by the General Contractor were very disappointing.  I think because we didn't complain as much as some of the other jobs going on, we just kept being pushed to the back of the line. Please note my Ratings are primarily based on working with the General Contractor, since I hold him totally responsible for the work performed.  The outside contractors who did the countertops, lighting, and cabinets were excellent.
Response from Certified Roofers & General Contractors Inc

"While it was absolutely regrettable that the project took as long as it did it should not have come as a surprise to the customer. The sole reason the project took as long as it did was that the custom cabinets that we ordered were delayed by almost three whole months. We explained this as soon as we were notified and the homeowners asked us to begin work anyway, against our advice. We work directly with a custom cabinet shop but do not own it, and therefore can only install cabinets which they provide to us. As noted once the cabinets were fabricated the homeowner was very happy with the quality and craftsmanship of every aspect of our work. The timeline was absolutely uncharacteristic of our projects and frankly of the cabinet manufacturer as well. To make up for this shortcoming the homeowner received quite literally thousands of dollars worth of upgrades and add-ons for free, even after he had agreed to pay a portion of them. While regrettable that the project took longer than anticipated as noted in the review the workmanship was great, all employees were courteous and professional and the homeowner was happy with the finished product."

Well, things went downhill from there.  I discovered that the company that had done my roof repairs (costing over $11K) over a few years, was the same company.  I called the office after leaving several messages for Eddie, and was asked to fax in the repair receipt, which I did. I wanted to understand what the plans were for the flat part of my roof better, and to make sure the drywall was included, also to find out what the payment would be on the financing.   I got a call from Mr. Sanchez who said he wanted to come by and discuss my roof.  He came the next day and informed me that the person who did the roof repairs was a former employee working on his own and he couldn't honor the warranty.  Imagine my surprise.  He said he couldn't give me any credit because it would admit guilt, but that he would do as good for me as possible, and promised to come back Friday morning, after having one of his mangers look at my roof to make sure what had been quoted was the best plan for my house (which has low slope sections).

Well, Friday came and went.  Emails, calls, txts went unanswered.  Then, surprise, surprise, surprise, almost a week later Eddie calls me back and says the price has gone up...it was a 'math error' he made.  REALLY?  I asked him to put it all in writing and nearly a week later...nothing.

My instincts are telling me this is a questionable bunch.  If they won't take your call before they do the work, imagine if there are issues after the fact!?

Response from Certified Roofers & General Contractors Inc

"I am truly sorry to hear your displeasure with our service, however many of you statements are factually incorrect. You had never previously done business with our company. As explained to you at the meeting you had with the owner of Certified Roofers you had done business with a company that fraudulently used our license numbers. Through your own admission you had never met any representative of our company, and aside from the license number and logo all other information was different. You even provided a copy of the previous contract and it was a different contract than ours. In regards to the price increase you were issued an estimate for roof replacement at your initial consultation and self admittedly it was under bid. You knew it was under bid as well and that is why you alerted me personally on the phone that it was half the price of another contractor's quote. We made a mistake and apologized for the error all while attending to it as quickly as possible. My sincere belief is that when we were not willing to be strong armed into discounting our work for previous work that we did not perform and were not paid for, you had written us off. I would have liked nothing more than to provide a roof replacement for you at a fair rate. I wish you luck going forward and regret we could not work things out."

Workers showed up as scheduled.  They repaired the roof and matched the shingles.  Prior to completion, Damian came out an inspected the work.  He also took the time to explain why that section of roofing had failed and what they had done to ensure the problem would not return.  I highly recommend this company.  Price was fair, work was high quality.

They took forever to come out and didn’t know how to fix the ceiling and asked me how to fix the ceiling.  The part that he fixed was not properly done and fell down.  They had to come back to fix the problem twice and still didn’t fix it properly.  They used my outside hose and then clogged it up with cement and refused to fix the hose and nozzle.

Over all the roof looks good.  But while putting up the Christmas lights I discovered that they did not remove the gutters to install the metal flashing.  They wrapped the flashing into the gutters!

I am buying the house that this contractor according to City of Lake Wales, Fl. permitting office, re-roofed in 2005. A part of the roof has failed, so I tried to contact the roofer to determine the work they performed.
This is a review of the service response after the job completion (8 years); I did not hire this contractor, just trying to get some information.
November 5, left message please call me back.
November 6, I called again and spoke with Alex ( I think he said he was owner's son). I wanted to confirm what work was performed on the roof. Alex said he would look for the records on this roof but, they typically discard them after 5 years (2010), and might not be available.  He asked what was wrong, I told him a failure in the flat roof area, he said that area is good for 10 (2015) years  and being 8 years, this is approaching life expectancy. Alex said he would call me back either way.
December 03, 2013 have not received a call back and does not look like I will.
Response from Certified Roofers & General Contractors Inc

"I did speak with [member name removed] and advised him that all records are discarded once they pass warranty period as there is no further reason to keep them. [member name removed] may have misunderstood what I said but what I told him was that if I found anything of use I would call and let him know. A simple phone call back to me would have satisfied his inquiry, but as he states he did not call back and it has been more than a month. I would like to believe that if he really wanted an answer he would have at least attempted to call me back once again. I believe he simply did not like the answer he received as the roof is not under warranty and has not been for many years. In my eyes the issue was dead as I never held a contract, warranty or expectation of service to [member name removed] whom I have never met and simply shared a brief phone call with. If his expectation was a return phone call then that differs from my recollection of the conversation, but as he states he was made aware that there would be no records of a job that was done almost a decade ago."

My husband and I obtained 5 estimates for a new roof with wood replacements as needed and this company was the most reasonable.  Not only were they the most reasonable, they provided an estimate with no hidden costs.  They were professional, punctual, and did everything they said they would do.  This kind of integrity is not very common these days.  I would recommend them for any home improvements and we will use them again for sure.

Nails in yard- I used their magnetic sweeper to pickup a pound of nails they missed.
Trash in yard
Soffits damaged and I had to call many times to get them to come out and fix them
Scheduling- A little loose. They just appeared when they were ready. Never scheduled with me.
Communications ? They never once answered messages left on their phone,I talked to several of them but they never responded, despite their promises, until I called the office several times.
Bottom line: I got a new clean, well built roof!

We are very pleased with the work that was done by this company.  As a bonus, per the contractor providing us with a Uniform (wind) Mitigation Verification Inspection Form after the roof was replaced, we were able to save several hundred dollars on our homeowners insurance!  (We had to change agents to get the annual premium decreased.)  Certified Roofers & General Contractors, Inc. also  took care of a couple of other important things we asked them them to do because there were some hard rains during the course of the job and those things were done promptly and professionally.  We also needed an additional gutter put in which the contractor arranged to be done (completed by an outside person which he recommended) and that work was done very well too.  I would definitely recommend Certified Roofers to anyone needing roof replacement..  Alex Sanchez, the Sales Manager, was extremely attentive and was great; i.e., prompt and courteous, at any follow up we requested.  All in all, it was a very good experience with this company.

There was a little misunderstanding in the beginning until the  owner, OWNIE stepped in who was a gentleman and good business man making things right.
The workers came early and stayed until early evening.  There was a Supervisor/Foreman on the job at all times for the 2 days it took to finish the job.   The Foreman made sure we were satisfied with a walk around on all the work before he released his workers to go home.  They cleaned up pretty good as well.    I would highly reccomend doing business with this company.
