Excellent, called in the evening and was told I would get a callback from the technician. Received callback in minutes. David arrived at the promised time, made the repair quickly and did not try to sell me anything that was not needed. Bill was very reasonable. I have used this company before and was favorably impressed at that time too.

Disappointed.  Never returned call or responded to two voicemails that I left.  Yes, it was a Saturday, yes it was hot.  I called them first because of their ratings and professionalism stated on their website.

The blower on my A/C stopped working on a Saturday (of course).  David came out early Sunday morning and diagnosed the problem as only a relay - not the blower motor.  Since he did not have my particular OEM relay on his truck and it was Sunday, he did a "work around" so I could use the A/C until he picked up the relay Monday morning and installed it.  I'm very happy with everything.

If Bloomingdale Air tells me something needs fixing, it needs fixing.  I trust them 100% to never suggest unnecessary repairs.  They are and have been my "go to guys" for Air Conditioning in the Apollo Beach/Brandon area.

There are no better companies.!  I have used Bloomingdale Air several times over the last three years to add upgrade a system in a home I purchased, do annual maintenance on two different systems in my Apollo Beach home, and check out a potential problem in a relative's home.
I recommend them unequivocally If you have a problem, they will fix it.  Their prices are very fair, and more importantly, if they find out you don't have an issue, they will not try to sell you service you don't need.
They will be my "go to guys" for heating and cooling as long as I am in Florida..

We bought a new washer and dryer and had them installed. When the installer turned on the dryer, smoke started coming out. We called Bloomingdale Air and they agreed to come out on a Sunday to clean the ducts. Sean was on time and very professional and friendly, he completed the work in a reasonable amount of time and was careful not to track anything into our home. Price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

Overall it was a very satisfying experience. He made a temporary repair with a used part so we could have A/C while he obtained a new part. He installed the new part the following day charging only for the part. (No additional service charge) Did not try to sell a bunch of unneeded services and provided answers to several questions I asked. I couldn't be more pleased. I have already recommended them to my neighbors.

I am so impressed, I called last night about 30 minutes after closing time. Unfortunately their was a discrepancy between the Angie's List posted hours of operation and Bloomingdales Airs actual hours of operation. Which was easily fixed as soon as I mentioned the Angies List website and their hours didn't line up. It is immediately apparent these people listen and react to issues. The receptionist was kind and friendly, very helpful.
David was my service technician. Despite being fully scheduled for the day, he came out to my house any ways.  He did a full diagnosis, I can't emphasize enough how much I appreciate him going through my inside system thoroughly. I had another companies technician come out and tell me I need a $700 repair. David at any point could have slandered the other company for a false diagnosis, but he was very professional. He never once said they were wrong, he merely told me what he found wrong and repaired it.
It is so refreshing to have a company come out and tell me what's wrong, how they are going to repair it, answer all my questions, and not try to sell me something.
Don't be fooled by the $84 diagnostic fee, it's worth every penny because the techs get paid to do there job by the owner; not by making commission on what they can sell.

I called Bloomingdale Air to see if my AC unit could be repaired. I had another company out that told me the unit needed replaced. I did not tell them this wanted to see what they came up with. Bloomingdale air found that the unit had a clogged drain that caused the compressor to shut down due to the float switch. They cleared my drain and added freon. However my AC unit down stairs stopped working when he left. Called bloomingdale air back to fix. He said thier was no power to the AC compressor for my down stairs AC unit. Spent 2 hours looking around. Told me needed to come back out to trouble shoot the electic issue. I found it was a bit weird that the unit worked till he did some work on my other unit. So i called another company out to see what they came up with. Turns out Bloomingdale Air turned off the power to the down stairs unit by circuit breaker upstairs. So Jon's AC did not even charge me. to me it seems Bloomingdale air pulled that breaker it was not tripped but pulled to the off position. Then wanted to hit me up for a bunch of hours looking for a electric problem that they knew good and well they turned off.
Response from Bloomingdale Air

"My name is David and I am the technician referred to in this review. I’d like to start by apologizing to him for what ever I did that caused him to form this opinion. I have to admit though it’s very upsetting for me to try so hard to help someone just to have such an accusatory and a worst case assumptive review posted about you. In my defense I’d like to point out a few facts. #1 This house is quite literally a gated fortress with extensive video surveillance and generally speaking not the ideal place for a con-artist to try and pull a fast one… #2 The majority of the time I spent here was working with and directly under the supervision of Mr. Myers’s own maintenance man. Whom I should point out was far more familiar with the house and couldn’t find the problem either. Now at this point its important to understand that this house has had extensive modifications and its electrical system is far from conventional. Additionally, his own review states that the circuit breaker for the downstairs system was found upstairs. #3 I’d like to point out that not only did Bloomingdale Air respond promptly to a service call back. But also, I did not charge him for the return trip or the 2 hours I spent on a completely different system with an unrelated electrical problem that was plausibly either caused unintentionally by the previous company or unknowingly caused by the maintenance man prior to our arrival… #4 Additionally I’d like to go on record by stating that I did not at any time recommend that we “Hit him up for a bunch of hours looking for an electrical problem” But I did suggest that he may have to call an electrician because this was not an air conditioning problem and we’re not electricians. #5 Now, I realize that the company to follow probably stirred the “proverbial pot” in an effort to look like the “Hero”. But at no time did he indicate any misunderstanding and I can assure everyone that had he I would had gone above and beyond to clear up any misconceptions… In closing, I was genuinely concerned with his dilemma and I even followed up with a courtesy call a few days later. And while I don’t understand his justifications for writing such an accusatory and worst case assumptive review his frustrations are apparent to me now and for any part I had in that I sincerely apologize… David Peralta Service Technician Bloomingdale Air CAC057970"

Inspected the air ducts but told me I didn't need them cleaned. He also cleaned the dryer vent and tunnel and gave advice about pleacement of the dryer vent being so close to the air conditioner. He also cleaned and inspected the air conditioner. The service man was so very nice and professional. He gave me lots of intormation and guarenteed his work. He is very close to my address in Bloomingdale and I would have no hesitation in calling him again.

My AC stopped cooling on a Saturday late afternoon. I called Bloomingdale Air and left a message. I received a return call within 30 minutes of my call. Bill took the time to discuss my concern and advised me about what to do to immediately minimize further system damage and we arranged for a service call early Sunday morning. Bill arrived on time and while diagnosing what was wrong with my system he explained what he was doing and SHOWED me what was wrong. Bill was very patient with my questions and gave clear explanations . Bill temporarily fixed the problem and in a visit 2 days later did the permanent repair. I have a friend in the AC business in another city and he confirmed that the price charged for services was very fair. I am pleased with the service.

"I truly wish I understood what I did to deserve Mr. (member name removed) review… - Mr. (member name removed) called at 11:16 AM on August 12 and spoke with our receptionist Elena. - Mr. (member name removed) requested a free estimate to replace his air conditioning system and left his contact information as well as his cell phone number if calling after 4pm. - I set a reminder on my calendar to call Mr. (member name removed) after 4 pm on his cell phone. - At 3:27 of the same day Mr. (member name removed) called again and I soon realized that I had misread the message when I believed I was to call him on his cell phone after 4 pm. - At this time I decided I would work him into that days already busy schedule and I would make him my last call of the day. We set an approximate time for arrival at 7 pm. - At 7 pm I called Mr. (member name removed) and ask if he would mind rescheduling for the following day since he was not without air and because I had (2) customer who were without air conditioning. We agreed to meet the following day at 4 pm. Mr. (member name removed) statement in his review that “he probably wanted to go home” couldn’t had been further from the truth… I worked until 11 pm that night and was praised by (2) families for saving their night… The last one of which was a fellow co-worker of Mr. (member name removed) at McDill AFB. Please understand I am a very small business owner and in the summer I work 7 days a week and typically work until 10 or 11 pm… I try very hard and usually at my families expense to take care of everyone I can and as soon as I can… - The following day Aug 13th just prior to arrival for our 4 pm appointment I called Mr. (member name removed) to let him know I was almost there and to please call the front gate to River Hills so I could gain access. - Mr. (member name removed) sounded perturbed and told me to forget it and that he had found someone else… - I apologized for not have been able to help him and we spoke for a few minutes as I offered some advice on what to look for when purchasing an air conditioner as well as answering a few of Mr. (member name removed) questions. - Upon hanging up I felt our conversation ended on a good note… - I am truly dumbfounded by just how angry Mr. (member name removed) is at me… Upon further research I did find that Mr. (member name removed) did call my personal cell phone twice during the day of Aug 13 but left no voicemails… Mr. (member name removed), I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding, inconvenience, or frustration I caused you… It was not deliberate or disrespectful it was a misunderstanding I am truly sorry… Kind Regards, Bill Carver Bloomingdale Air CAC057970"

I have actually used Bloomingdale A/C several times, but only just signed up for Angie's List so decided to leave a review. I've only had experience with one technician, Bill (maybe he's the owner, I'm not sure). I've never been anything less than completely satisfied with his work and price and I've recommended him to friends in the area. Once my A/C went out late in the evening, so I called a 24-hour service. They came out and gave me an estimate, but were unable to get the part before the next day. So I called Bill the next morning and asked him for an estimate for the repair the other service had quoted for replacing the blower motor and his price was almost 1/2 as much (~$250 vs ~$450) so of course I had him repair it. (I don't remember all this, I just keep all of my receipts!)
In the spirit of full disclosure, I will add that a minor annoyance I experienced was that once he allowed a small amount of the blown-in insulation in my attic to get sucked into the compressor when he had the cover off (my compressor is in my attic) which then was promptly distributed via the vents throughout my house. But I suppose these things happen.
Anyway, as I mentioned I just signed up for Angie's List to look for an auto-repair shop and decided I'd see what kind of ratings some of the other services I'd used had gotten, and decided to add one for Bloomingdale Air.

Our A/C went out late Saturday morning on a holiday weekend. I didn't know if our usual A/C service Bloomingdale Air would be taking emergency calls but I called and left a msg. Past experiences with other A/C companies had been poor and we decided that if Bill from Bloomingdale Air didn't respond we would wait until Tuesday when he would be working. He called back promptly and asked what was going on. He said to make sure the A/C was off and he would be at our home in 20 minutes. He responded within that time frame, replaced the parts on the A/C and explained how it had probably happened. He said to call him anytime even on a holiday weekend. We expected a higher than normal bill as it was a holiday but he just charged his normal rate. We have been using Bloomingdale Air for about 8 years and found them to be an honest, knowledgeable and fairly priced company. They will take the time to answer any questions you may have and they don't do unnecessary work. I wouldn't use anyone else.

On Saturday (Memorial Day Weekend), Bill returned my call promptly and explained some things over the phone before he even came over.
He was very professional and he saved the day by finding out what was wrong with my air conditioner after 3 ineffective visits by another air conditioning company.

"With the advice of our Angies List representative we’ve decided to embrace this complaint and use it as an example to showcase our attention to the details. (by taking this moment to share an embarrassment We hope to show our potential clients to know that we are accountable and that we do care about the work we do and the people we serve. By taking a moment to address this the small our appreciation The Complaint, “My wife called Bloomingdale Air because our home a/c went out. She got an answering machine so left a message. A technician called back and left a message with my wife who promptly returned his call only to get the answering machine again. After, she heard nothing from BlooMingdale Air despite repeated attempts to contact them again. POOR AND UNPROFESSIONAL FOLLOW-UP! Will never call them again!” The Facts, - [member name removed] called Bloomingdale Air on Thursday April 11, 2013 at 10:59:47AM and had a 2:00 minute conversation with our receptionist Desiree. At which time she provided her contact information and a description of her air conditioning problem. - Myself the owner not a technician promptly returned her call and left a voicemail with my personal mobile phone number as an additional contact. - On Friday April 12, 2013 at 11:10AM [member name removed] returned my call not to the office but to my personal mobile phone. I was unavailable and she left a voicemail. - I promptly returned her call and left another voicemail. This was the last I would hear from [member name removed]. - On Sunday April 14th I was notified by Angie’s list that [member name removed] left us a review that can only be described as unfounded and unfair. -No services were ever preformed for the [member name removed]. Our Response, I empathize with [member name removed] and given the circumstances I would have bent over backward to help. I understand how unsettling it can be when you come home from a long day to a hot house. And I understand how frustrating it must be trying to get your air conditioner fixed when every contractor in state is quite literally overwhelmed by the first long week of record heat. What I don’t understand is why the [member name removed] decided to so hastefully lash out at someone who sincerely wanted to try and help them. I truly wish this situation would have worked out differently but it’s difficult to complain about poor and unprofessional follow up when the owner offered his personal mobile phone number… Bloomingdale Air has been awarded the Tampa Tribunes Best of Brandon for 2009 and 2011. Given the relatively small size of our customer base I personally feel this is an amazing accomplishment and a testament to the relationship we have with our clients."

I would recommend them. They are the only company that would come out and tell me what is wrong with no service charge. Then, I could decide whether I would use them for repair and this is what got me to use them. They repaired it and charged me their minimum charges but since I knew what was wrong I could have told them that I would fix it myself. My overall experience with them has been good.
