Started weekly pool service with Apollo Pools at beginning of April. They showed once, then missed the next two weeks. (I should have cancelled the service after two missed visits, but they promised it would not happen again, so I gave them another chance.) They promised a credit on my May invoice, but instead charged my credit card in full for pre-payment of May services. I had to nag them for refund due to missed April visits and did not receive the credit until the middle of May. In the meantime, by May 14th, they had NEVER performed any service visits in May. I cancelled the service, and demanded a refund for the May charges. That was denied. When I filed a dispute with my credit card company for the May charges, Apollo lied to VISA by claiming that the credit issued in May (for missed April visits) resolved the dispute for the May charges. It is now June 17, and no refund. Every time I contact them, they either ignore me or tell me they will issue a check (I wanted a VISA credit), but the check has NEVER been received.

Apollo Pools did the whole package for us. Refinished the pool, create new steps in the pool, put pavers around the pool and screened in area and re-screened the pool cage. Total was around $26,000.00. The pool refinished looks beautiful – used the Sun Stone Pearl Ice Pebble. My one and only comment is when we were shown the sample of the pool finish. This was a smoothed finish. Our pool finish is rough. My bathing suit gets caught in the pebbles a lot. No one mentioned the finished would be rough to us. Found out about this when we were able to get into our pool a couple of weeks ago. Please make sure this is the kind of finish you want for your pool. Have cut a toe and finger already on the pebbles. The pavers are beautiful. Then again we picked a smaller paver because of the price. These are harder to walk on. If you are older like we are – you should probably get bigger pavers to make it easier to walk. We still have a problem opening our French doors into the screened in area. Pavers needed to be cut thinner to fix this problem. We had our pool redone in winter when wood doesn’t have much humidity to expand. The company who did this job was wonderful and did a good job and I would give them a four star. The company who did the rescreening of the pool cage was awful. Asking to clean the gutters around the pool area – this was extra plus they never cleaned them all the way. We have two plants growing out of these gutters (after 3 months)? It took the company almost two months to come back out and finish the job. The anchor screws needed to be replaced, not done at the time it was rescreened. The rubber around the screen area in the door still has screen hanging out. Never finished the job correctly by cutting the screening material around the door. Lost a down spout to one of our gutters – I was told by them this didn’t happen. The rescreening company was a one star. All in all – Apollo Pools did a good job. Dominic is a star sales person. He was on every question or problem for me. Dominic learned a lot from our job – this took about 3 weeks to get done instead of one week. The owner worked with you also. The company would get a four and half stars but with the screening company – this is why I gave the whole project a three and half stars. Hope this helps everyone. For this amount of money you need to make sure everything runs smoothly.

By the end of October the pool still wasn't swimable (had never even been vacuumed). As if that weren't bad enough, every time a tech came out they left our valve "open" and dumped our pool water to ground, leaving the pool pump running "dry" before we realized it. Five times! We would call each time and any time I did speak to someone they claimed they "never got" my messages, down to the woman that came out who called my husband a liar to his face. We said we didn't want their service. A tech came out the following week anyway and we had to turn him away. I'm sure they have no record of that. Unfortunately the pump was no longer working at that time. Now It's November and we have holidays coming up and our money is tight. We left the pump off and made it through to the end of December where I finally called another company to come out, and he tells me the bearings are seized and that is caused by :::drumroll::: Being run dry! We also find out that we have a 3-way valve which is unnecessary for anything other than charging us more money for it. He put some liquid chlorine in since it was starting to turn green again and it went to perfectly blue even without circulation. Faster than Apollo pools took to get it to the same state. Last week I called Apollo Pools and left a message as they were out of the office. They said on the recording that their emergency person would do call backs. I got a call from a *blocked* number that was Apollo Pools the next day. He apologized profusely and said a tech would come out to fix the motor on Tuesday- "no problem- we'll get that taken care of for you". Yesterday was Tuesday. No tech. I called today and surprise! They have "no record" of that and they weren't even in the office last week so nobody could possibly have called me back. But they'd be happy to charge me for someone to come out and diagnose my pool pump and motors start at $350 so of course I'd be on the hook for that. Obviously I have to go to small claims court to get this fixed because the guy said "no" his techs "didn't run my pool dry 5 times", even though we called each and every time it happened. It was every time a tech came out over the course of about 6 weeks. It's ridiculous.
Description of Work: We hired Apollo pools to clean our pool from green to blue plus replace valves in September. We paid over $500 for this.

I came to visit my father here in Florida and I found a completely neglected pool. It is covered in brown, there is mold around the filter and the light is burned out. My father is paying for the $89.00 Full Service totaling $94.00 a month. I observed the service tech on 11/15/2016 come in and take apart the filter, skim the pool for 3 leaves and leave... leaving the screen door to the pool wide open and the filter disassembled. My father is 74 and fighting Leukemia. When I called for the company to send the tech out to give my father the full service he is paying for and clean up this mess, they never returned. Buyer Beware! I posted a video of the neglect on YouTube under "Apollo Pools BUYERS BEWARE! (Valrico, FL 33596)"
Description of Work: $89 a month weekly full pool service includes: testing water adding all chemicals needed cleaning filter on scheduled basis. vacuuming pool brushing pool cleaning tile emptying skimmer and pump baskets inspecting system and reporting any problems
