Private Investigation
I gave the summons to Jerald Brush on Nov. 4 2013. He was to meet me at a supermarket parking lot one block from the plaintiff's residence. I drove by the residence on the way to meet him and the plaintiff's car was in front of the residence and at home. Mr. Brush was fifteen minutes late meeting me. After arriving and giving him the paperwork and his fee ( BIG MISTAKE ) I told him the address of the residence was just one block down the street - the second house on the right after the traffic light.
I walked quickly to the corner of the traffic light to watch as he knocked on the door to see the plaintiff get the summons served.
However, Mr. Brush went to the WRONG HOUSE ! Also, by this time, the plaintiff's car was no longer in front of the house - the plaintiff was gone. Mr. Brush is a private investigator so is inability to locate the correct house despite clear directions and actual number address puzzles me in regard to his private investigator services.
Mr. Brush supposedly made a few additional attempts to deliver the summons, but could never provide the service he promised or contracted with me. I invested a large amount of time and money to file a small claims suit against the plaintiff and he definitely let me down.
Not only did he not get the summons delivered, but he failed to let me know in time to get the court date rescheduled. He should have contacted me one week prior to the Dec. 3 2014 court date so I could get the date reset and have the summons sent certified mail by the court - which would have been much less expensive.
Bottom line, Mr. Brush did no service for me. If his private investigating services are anything like his process server skills ---
I WOULD AVOID AT ALL COSTS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !
