See above. I called Eggl's and told them I had the same problem - (no signal). He said he would come out and check the TV and antenna. He came out, checked the TV (no signal). I tod him I had an analog TV with a converter box and it said weak signal. He asked where I got the converter box from, I told him he said "it is junk, they are crooks, take it back" He asked where the antenna was, I said on the roof, I did mention that it was not the time of day go get on the roof (storms&lightning) He said he could see what he needed to from where he was (in my yard). He said my antenna wasn't any good, I needed a new antenna, that it would cost me "$800.00 and that it wasn't worth it - call Comcast. I did find and call an antenna place - got a price for a new antenna, installed $275.00. The repair man (owner) came out, found a bad connection in the cable, repaired it ($75, call; $15 repair) and told me there wasn't anything wrong with my antenna. An Honest businessman !!!!. I took the bad connection to Eggle's - he told me he didn't do antennas so I asked if that was the case how could he tell me it was my antenna and that a new one would be $800.00. I am also wondering if anything was wrong with my tuner - when a car repair is done you get the old part that was replaced - I didn't get my old tuner if it was replaced and if it was, did it need to be replaced (tuner bill $241.72)

When I brought my 20 inch TV into his shop, the gentleman there said it was an easy repair, but he had to order the part and it might take a week. He estimated $100, which I thought was high. When he saw my ambivalence, he said the TV was HD and it would cost a great deal more to replace it. My instinct said, "Run, something is not right," but frankly, I just wanted the work done so I could take it off my list, (my very long list). I'm sure anybody who's ever had to bring a TV or computer or stereo component in for repair, knows that it is a dreaded, even mind numbing, chore. And definitely not one you want to repeat the same day. Two and a half weeks later I called about my TV. An indifferent young man checked and said, "Oh yeah. It's been here for a few days. But I guess no one called you." When I went in to pick it up, the price was $250. I calmly told him that was more than double the original estimate, and I had received no calls for authorization to proceed. Once again, with indifference, I was told basically, "Oops!" He told me he didn't take the order and doesn't know anything other than the fact that he can't let it leave the shop without $250. Quietly fuming, I paid the bill and took the TV home. The piece that needed to be replaced had been and the TV was receiving cable channels, but it now takes 3 or 4 seconds for the picture tube to both come up when turned on, and go down when the TV is turned off. This TV has a built in DVD player which has not worked since I brought the TV home. And, it is not HD. Naturally, I called the shop and insisted on speaking with the man with whom I had originally spoken. I believe he was the owner, but he never returned my call. Eventually, I had to go up to that area again for something else, so I stopped in. The shop was closed despite the fact that the hours displayed on the door said it would be open. We had to go out of town the following day for 3 weeks. Upon our return, I assumed it was too late to go any further with this ordeal, owing to the fact that by that time, I couldn't prove that his shop was responsible for the damage. He could have made a case that anything could have caused the TV to malfunction between the time I picked it up and the time I brought it back. I decided I had just learned a very expensive lesson.
Description of Work: Replace the co-axial cable receiver on the back of the TV. (I'm not certain of my terminology, so it's the thing that sticks out of the back of the TV to which you attach the cable coming from either the wall or the cable box.)
