We used Scotts for AC repairs over the years. When our AC unit finally went out for good, they convinced us to buy a unit better than the one we had for 15 years based on SEAR. Once installed, we had more than 8 visits over a two-month period for repairs and replacement parts in the brand new unit. Each time there was 2- day minimum down time of heat suffered by us as we waited for the service call. I cannot help but think our unit is a mixed bags of parts that may or may not work well together. The repair people seemed to not be knowledgeable. Even the "'old-pro" had excuses for the system that weren't acceptable (COVID caused manufacturing and training problems). The most important room in the house to cool (the master bedroom) isn't as cool as it was with our old unit. So, I am still unhappy after spending $15,000.

Beware. Came out and indicated an entire nee coil system to repair a leak. Problem never goes away. They come out 2x more to just fill with refrigerant. Then i have another company out to find the leak in the outside unit. They charged me 1500 for nothing. I called Scott who is very rude and refuses to do anything. He is a rip off artist and his business is a scam.

I had purchased a unit from Scott about 3 years previously.  Each year they inspected the unit and each year the technician recommended an add on. They also always seemed to find something wrong with the unit that was not covered by the warranty. The really irritating point was when they recommended I install a 'leaf' cover over the fan, only to be told the next year that the leaf cover was not a good idea for that unit.  I demanded and got a refund for that.  However the cost of the failed tubing was not covered by the warranty and that was going to be around $700 to repair/replace. At that point I said goodbye to Scott's, hired Shiver Air to come out and take the 3 year old unit and replace it with a new one.  It cost me $5,700 but is well worth it to stop the aggravation of having to have the unit from Scott's require repairs every year I owned it!

Scotts A/C is fine as far as their technicians go, as well as the work, but through the years that I have used them ( about 3) , I have come to realize that their prices are absurdly inflated.
They talk you into signing a service and quot;contractand quot; with them for a year so you can get a and quot;price breakand quot;each time, but even the prices offered to the yearly and quot;specialand quot; customers are high.
We had them change out our A/C unit ,which we were desperate to do at the time, as we are in Florida and it was the unit that cools the upstairs that suddenly died . A lot of money later, we ended up with an average unit to replace the original Trane. They tried to sell us the filters which are a unique ,thicker size ( only change once a year) , and they asked for $160 or so . I found the exact same one on line for $35 . Goes to show what their mark-up is.
I am tired of their used car salesman approach and the guaranteed upsell every time. Will never use them again.
Technicians are courteous and clean though.

..Came home after a weekend away and found dampness in the bedroom next to
the bath. Called Scott's Services dba Ben Franklin Plumbing Tampa and
they were out in no time. Steven was the plumber and he was
professional, clean uniform, well spoken and rebuilt the plumbing in our
pedestal sink. It was a Sunday and I expected a large overtime bill
but Steven explained that there was no additional charge for Sunday!! I
have other plumbers before on other items but won't need to keep their
numbers as I have found the plumber I can trust to get it right and
price it fair.

Had a leak in the outside unit of the heat pump air conditioner/heater. A guy came out and put a dye in the unit. He said he would come back the next day. That cost $500. Within 30 minutes the unit began to blow the dye out into the air. Another guy came back the next day and replaced the leaking part which took him about 5 hours. He charged me another $600.

I have used them before and they do good work. However, their prices are sky high. One problem is they have only a few prices levels that they use. Anything that falls with the list of work for that price level is what they charge. Some of the work in the same price level will take 15 minutes and some 2 hours. The lowest price level is very expensive. It all boils down to about $150 per hour for labor.

Everything went well. The servicemen are very polite and gracious. They always clean up after themselves and never leave a mess.

VERY POLITE AND CLEAN, WEAR BOOTIES OVER THEIR SHOES. $15/MONTH FOR SERVICE. EXCELLENT SERVICE.

THE SERVICE TECH WAS A LITTLE LATE BUT POLITE WHEN HE GOT HERE. HE TOLD ME UP FRONT WHAT THE COST WOULD BE ,WHICH I THOUGHT WAS TO HIGH, BUT THE DRAIN HAD BEEN PLUGGED FOR THREE DAYS AND I WAS NEEDING TO GET IT FIXED. THE JOB WAS COMPLETED IN LESS THAN AN HOUR AND HE LET THE WATER RUN TO MAKE SURE THE DRAIN WAS CLEAR. IN REFERENCE TO THE QUESTION IF I WOULD HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, I MIGHT HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS BECAUSE I STILL FEEL THE PRICE WAS TOO HIGH.

Their a/c techs are A-1. Hard workers and trustworthy.
