Residential and commercial plumbing and drain cleaning including sewers, pumps, faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, waterlines, pipe work, water heaters, septic tanks & video camera line inspection.
We had a clog in the pipe under the house. Water was backed up everywhere except the kitchen sink. There was a clog that was under the house which he showed us on the camera. He unclogged it. He also did a cleaning of the pipes so this wouldn't happen again anytime soon. The tech's name was Ted. He was very professional. We had called another plumber a few weeks ago that we got on Angie's List who didn't fix the problem. He just said our toilet was clogged up. So we were very happy that this plumber knew what he was doing and fixed the problem. We will call them again if we have plumbing issues.

What stand out about them are their customer service and their flexibility like I called them and they were here within an hour. I thought the price was a little pricey.
Description of Work: I went through Roto-Rooter. I used them once. My master bathroom shower was clogged so they actually de-clogged it by getting rid of the calcium that had built up inside.

We had a plumbing issue involving stoppage which began in the master bathroom toilet and shower and eventually spread to our kitchen and guest bath. Our home warranty company sent a different (not Roto Rooter) Plumber out. The other plumbing company wasted 2 days of my time and ultimately were unable to solve the problem. After 2 days of dealing with this other company (and no working toilets or showers with 2 small children in my home) I contacted Roto Rooter, who were wonderful. I called at 4:30pm and they got someone out to my home at 7pm that evening. They solved the problem in less than an hour and charged less than I was quoted by the other company (who couldn't guarantee that their "fix" would actually work). I notified my home warranty company and recommended they use Roto Rooter in the future.

Drini and Raif were the two men doing the work and they told me from the start they work to very high standards and they were correct. I could tell immediately while observing their actions to protecting the furnishings with plastic and making plans to cut into the slab taking the best rout to minimize damage as much as possible. Things went so well that I left them the key to the house by the second day. Lines were drawn on the slab where the an 18" saw blade would be cutting thru the slab and rebar. They did not make continuous cuts in the slab for structural reasons and tunneled between the cut outs. trenches were approximately 2' X 6' X 2' deep. They had to remove and lay new PVC pipe between the existing copper water lines. The cutting saw was hydraulic and water was used and vacuumed off to keep the dust down. Dirt was removed from the path of the new pipe (18 leaf bags) placed near each trench. The pipe was then expertly installed using a level ensuring the continuous slop of the drain to the city connection in the street. I have (3) vent pipes to the roof and all were use no short cuts were made. To avoid cutting thru a thick platform in the garage for the washer they jack hammered thru the external rear garage wall went under ground and back into the house (2) wash out ports were installed. They installed the pan for the shower and put it thru a 3 day leak test. They then blocked the main drain and filled the system with water and the tub as high as they could fill it. The trenches were still open and the pipes exposed when City inspection was made. A pressure test was made to the copper pipes to ensure no bleed down or leakage. A block was then removed at the street and the whole system drained with ease. Closure was made to each trench as the dirt was put in the trench water was used to slowly compact the soil and ensure all the dirt was replaced. Rebar was replaced by drilling into the existing slab and installing the rebar. A termite treatment was performed and a certificate provided. A layer of plastic put over the dirt and the openings cemented level with the existing slab. After the cement dried the wall and floors were vacuumed clean and our white carpet laid out. The work performed by these two men was exceptional. I bought the house new in '75 and do most of the myself partly because it is hard to find quality people like Drini and Raif and a company like Roto Rooter. .
Description of Work: I had damp cement in the garage which was lower than the main living area. They used a video camera and found the drain line coming from the house was completely gone on the bottom half of the cast iron pipe. Roto Rooter then remove and replace all drain lines below the slab which included (2) baths, kitchen, and washer in the garage. They also removed the master bath shower.

Roto Rooter is the best! I have had sewage back up into my house twice now. They came out the first time and worked for hours to ensure every line was clear. Turned out to be the city's issue. Because this happened within the warranty period, there was no charge! A year later, it wasn't the city's sewage coming in, but our own (EEW! YUCK! OMG!) Again they came out and fixed it lickity split! after a lot of hard work! They always clean up afterwards so that there isn't a disgusting mess for me to clean up. AND they gave me a discount for my troubles!

Being new to Florida when I woke and found water seeping out from under my cabinet and along the wall into my closet rug was drenched, I didn't know who to call, first plumber I called said they were too busy and couldn't send someone until the next day, the next plumber said maybe by 5 pm, now I am starting to get frantic water is coming out faster!!! Then I called Roto Rooter they had someone there in thirty min., stopped the water flow, they had to take out the cabinets and counter which they did very carefully, no damage at all. They took care of everything drying the carpet, floors. They were clean no mess at all, actually I think my floors were cleaner after they left than before. The guys were great and knew what they were doing. I have told everyone I know how wonderful Roto Rooter is and will definitely use them again.

The technician (Raif) came very shortly after I called in to request assistance with plugged drain and overflowing water. He used his machinery and got the drain pipe open in short order. The technician was just excellent. Very professional. He cleared the line, took photos of the clean line for his office files to show the City of St. Petersburg (FL) that the clog is occurring in their line. used a tracking device to trace the lines above ground, showing me where my line runs across the yard and where it joins the city sewer line. Made suggestions for my use on how to go about contacting the city, complaining that this clogging problem which has happened every year for the past 4 years, is their problem and theirs to fix. Suggested that I have the city call his office, where they will have pictures (proof) of the city's problem in their files with my receipt. I couldn't ask for a better senior technician to do this work. I've dealt with less experienced plumbers in the past 4 years on this same problem, and they have all given me disinformation, disproved by this Roto Rooter technician who really knows his stuff.d

They were very professional and are not out to gauge you or nickel or dime you for things you know are not going to work. We've had another plumber come out prior to that for a similar clog and every time I turn around, the guy was trying to up charge where "Well, I could charge you this and I noticed this was leaking over here" next thing you know he's having on $500 which a bunch of extra services that we really didn't want, I didn't have him do the job but the job with this other plumber is $700.

I called them this morning around 10:30 am and was told someone would be at my house between 12-4 today. At 4:00 we called to ask where our plumber was. They told me that someone came to my home at 3:25 and there was no answer. Seriously? I live in a gated community. I was home the entire day. I have two dogs that bark at every opportunity. They also told me that a phone call was made at 3:26 and a man answered my home phone and told them they have the wrong number. There was not a man at my home at that time and there is no way a plumber would have been turned away due to our circumstances. They then told me that they had someone in my area that would be at my house in 15 minutes. I called them again. They said it may take a bit longer. I called again at 6:45 pm and was told it would be closer to 9:00 pm before someone could be here. I asked to talk to a supervisor. Tom was about as helpful as the rest of the people we spoke to during the day which means he wasn't. He told me that he had a recording of the phone call made to my residence at 3:26 pm. I have call waiting, and a land line along with two cell phone numbers that were provided. Wrong answer Tom. He then said that he would his best o have someone here by 9:00 pm and that since we were inconvenienced all day that he would gladly take 10% off our bill. My time is worth a lot more than 10% and I told him exactly what I thought of the service I had been provided today and told him not to bother sending someone. I have called another service and they are on their way here now at 7:50pm. Roter Rooter does not send your worries down the drain and should be sued for false advertising.

The work was great by Pete. The final price was high, but it was an emergency. We contacted the manager after the work was done since I did some research on the pricing of the pumps. I wanted a breakdown of the pricing to know exactly what we paid for. The manager, Tim, called me back a couple of day later saying they used a pricing chart based on demographics. The manager agreed with me on the pricing and took around $930 off the bill. I feel like that was a little unfair because they charged me based on the area I live in. The workmanship was high quality and the technician explained the work he was doing while performing the job. The manager was very nice and professional.

My toilet had a gradually worsening problem of continuing to be unable to flush properly. I called Roto-rooter knowing they had a and quot;longer roto-rooterand quot; since I assumed my problem was due to tree roots impacting the line. The tech promptly came out within an hour since this was an emergency call. He determined the problem was due to needing to have the old toilet replaced due to mineral buildup. He sent me to the store to pick up the new toilet as he worked to remove the old one and gave me his cell # in case I had any questions with the purchase. He found tree roots had intruded around the drain and he cut them away and sealed the area while replacing the toilet. He also replaced the leaking metal plumbing under the bathroom sink and replaced it with PVC. Three days later I again had a backup and he personally came out to deal with the issue. (He was not scheduled--he left a Mother's Day function he was attending to take care of my crisis.) This time he dug around the exterior to find my main sewer line and roto-rootered it. He found tree roots had intruded into the main sewer line. While I didn't expect to have him out twice, his personal concern to rectify the situation, along with his professionalism was greatly appreciated and I would not hesitate to use him again.

They were on time, very professional, and friendly. They had to open the wall from the outside to get to the broken pipe, fixed the pipe, and closed the wall back up, leaving the wall in even better condition than when they started. After he saw the job and what needed to be done, he was able to tell me what the cost would be before he started and didn't add any more charges to the original estimate.

Again:this call was on an emergency basis:but I had met Raif on an earlier call when I had water coming from the washer.....I had several smaller jobs I wanted to also get done at that time and Raif immediately fixed/diagnosed the washer problem. He also ably installed a different type of valve as my other ones had "frozen"/rusted in place over time.He was also very willing to explain everything to me as he did it.The ONLY drawback is that the service charges do tend to be a bit steep---but work is guaranteed----the call center staff AND technicians are all very professional and nice.As I said:these 2 particular gentlemen have been excellent over the years.I really appreciated the fact that whomever scheduled the emergency call took the time to notice my appreciation of both Raif and Mynyr & took the initiative to get Raif to me on this call.I think that is great customer service. They will also always try to accomodate if the customer does have a good experience & prefers a certain tech.
Description of Work: A leak was discovered under the kitchen sink and would not stop even after water main was shutoff.I called Roto-Rooter on an emergency basis and Raif (the gentleman I would have asked for by name had this not been an emergency ) showed within the allotted 4 hour time frame.I was thrilled to see him arrive at the door---as I have had some very good experiences with his service----as well as another plumber named Mynyr who also came to my residence through Roto-Rooter. Ultimately;there was a pinhole leak in one of the tubes going to the kitchen sink---as well as a leaking faucet---fortunately,Raif had the tools and necessary hardware to install a new sink faucet.

Once you can get a plumber out to your house Roto Rooter is great. It's getting them there is the issuse. I hate when I call and they say one thing then turn around and do nothing. That is the only reason I gave them a F on Punctuality and Responsiveness.
Description of Work: Back in Jan 2011 my toilets backed up into my shower. After calling many plumbers we decided to go with Roto Rooter for when I called in the late evening the receptionist said someone would be out the same day. About 3 hours went by and no one showed up that is when I got a phone call stating that the tech wouldn't be able to come until the next day. When the tech finally came over 4 hours late from the new scheduled appointment he went straight to work. Even though it was raining the plumber was excellent. He fixed the problem. Until the same problem happened in May 2011 and once again the receptionist said someone would be out that same day and once again the plumber never shown until the next morning and Fix the problem.

I called on a Thursday and explained that we had a continuous leak coming from a hose bib on the outside of the house and Roto Rooter said they could have someone out between 6pm and 8pm that day. I left work early to be sure to be home by 6pm. I got a call at 7:30pm from Roto Rooter saying that all their technicians would be on jobs until midnight so they would send someone out the next day (Friday) between 6pm and 8pm. We waited and waited Friday evening. By 8:30 pm, no one had shown up and we received no phone call from Roto Rooter. I called to get an update and they said someone was in the area and would be out soon. I called several more times that night each time I was told that someone was in the area and would be out shortly, until by 11pm, I told them it was now too late to send anyone over. Roto Rooter said they would have someone out the next morning. Everytime I called, which was many times, I explained the problem, which was a continuous leak. The next morning (Saturday), a technician finally came out. But, he took one look at the leak, and said that he couldn't help us, he only does clogs! We called Roto Rooter to complain and they said they would send another technician out on Monday. Finally, I said forget it and canceled the appointment all together out of frustration for the whole thing!! I called another company and they came out the following Monday and fixed the problem in 10 minutes.

Knew I was in trouble when I told him what the problem was and he said ok, lets talk price. They won't go on a tile roof to snake out the clog and I knew this was going to be expensive. $126.00 just to find the clean out and another $250.00 to snake out the clog from the toilet! Now just because I am female doesn't mean I don't have a brain! Had this done before and knew what I was up against. Said no thank you and called Billy the Sunshine Plumber. Two mechanics came within an hour and had it fixed a half our later. They went on the roof and snaked it out. Cost me $150.00, what it should have!

I called to schedule an appointment and the estimator called me back promptly and was able to schedule an appointment for the very next day (today). I explained I had two tanks and they asked how large they were. I said I wasn't sure, and they said the cost would be $275 for up to 1000 gallons. They specifically explained that the $275 would cover both tanks so long as together they were not more than 1000 gallons. I scheduled the appointment for the 12:00 - 4:00 window today. At about 8:45 this morning they called and asked if they could send someone early. They said he was on his way to the house and would be there within the hour. I explained I had some things to do, but if he could be there within the hour, then that would be OK. About an hour and a half later I hadn't seen him or heard anything so I called dispatch. They said he had to stop to employ the truck and would be at the house in about 20 minutes. He finally arrived about 45 minutes later, a little after 11:00. He said it would be $275 for the first tank and $125 for the second. I explained that I had specifically discussed this with the estimator, and had been told the $275 covered both tanks so long as they were less than 100 gallons put together. The tech explained that the people up in Baltimore don't know anything, or something along those lines. He got the work done, but destroyed one of my flowerbeds in the process when he ran the hose right over it. There was plenty of space to simply run it around the other side of a small tree next to the bed rather than running it on top of the flowerbed, but he was either not paying attention or didn't care. He finally finished up and left at about 1:20 in the afternoon. It took longer than it should have, was almost 50% more expensive than I had been quoted and I have a smashed flowerbed. I also had to rearrange my whole day because of the change in schedule and subsequent lateness.
Description of Work: Annual maintenance and pumping of septic tanks.
