Mr Rogers Appliances of Tampa

This is an update to my prior review of Mr Rogers. After I posted my first review, I received a call from the owner. He was very apologetic and did offer me a refund by mail. He also did NOT ask to put all my old parts back in the fridge to qualify for this refund. I very much appreciated the refund. Of note, his technicians' final diagnosis was that the ice maker could not be repaired after replacing the ice-maker, water inlet valve, laser sensor, and circuit board (in back). They reported to me there was an incompatibility issue with the electronics in the fridge. I subsequently contacted a Whirlpool appliance repair expert (Fields Appliance Service). This technician chased down the problem over an hour and found a damaged diode. He ordered the part and came out a week later to replace it. When that still didn't work, he chased down the problem to damaged wires at the base of the door near the door hinge. He repaired those wires and the ice-maker started working again. So it turns out it was repairable after all - it just took the right expertise and determination.

Mr. Rogers recommended replacement since repair would have been too expensive. We appreciate their candor.

Service tech came in the time they stated. He was extremely thorough and efficient. He cleaned up everything. I would highly recommend and we would use this company again.

dryer working well - taking less time to dry clothes

He did not do anything, opened the door, said it is damaged rubber insulatin on the door, cost $450 to fix, suggested better buy new one. I paid $75.00 for saying that as service call

Overall projected costs for repair were so high ($600) that we decided to buy a new washer.

It went very well, they were punctual and when done it was exactly what we wanted.

Very well!!! There was absolutely nothing wrong with my dishwasher. We were having our kitchen, bathrooms & hallways tiled. The company we used was horrendous but that's a different story for another day. The tiling under the legs of the dishwasher was uneven. They tiled one side with the leg sitting on the tile & left the other leg sitting on the concrete. The appliance tech pointed out all kinds of problems with the work that was done around & under the unit. He also pointed out issues with the work that was done in the rest of the kitchen, eating area as well as the hallways & bathrooms. He pointed out all the areas where poor work was done. Of course, we don't have the experience so we didn't pick up on many of the problemed areas. We identified the shoddy areas that were visible to the eye but he pointed out all the subtle areas that had poorly installed tile. He explained why having them repair all those areas, even though they were sublet imperfections, was important. He did not have to spend the extra time with us. He could have left after he added a small piece of tile under the opposing leg to balance the dishwasher. The promotion offered cost $49. Thank goodness the cost was so low. The dishwasher wasn't broken, just in unbalanced because of sloppy tile work by the installer. Because of the numerous issues I had with this company I am not @ liberty to name them. But NY has wonderful nicknames besides The Big Apple. I insisted the company reimburse me for all the damages & repair all the areas with shoddy work. In all fairness to the company, they honored my requests. One more thing, the appliance tech asked me if I had already paid for the offer. I said yes. He made a low pitched grunt along with a slightly annoyed face ( the only way I can describe it) & said ok. He didn't say it but I believe had I not paid in advance he wouldn't have charged me. He didn't repair anything. He just put a small piece of tile under the dishwashers leg. I have absolutely NO quarrels with having paid in advance. It was well worth it.

The serviceman did a very thorough job. He was very careful and polite. He showed pride in his work. Very positive experience.

Called in the morning and was told would need to reschedule for later in day(3:00 to 5:00PM), advised them no, confirmed on Friday that would be at home between 10:00 and 12:00 cleaned dryer vent from the inside, was OK, was advised they were going to go up on the roof and check out and clean out. Did not go on the roof, did not even bring a ladder with them.

About the only good thing that I can say is that they showed up on time. During the week, the freezer in my French door refrigerator stopped working for about 12 hours. About two weeks prior, a similar situation happened but not for as long or severe. I called their office, told them the situation, that the freezer was now working again, and asked if someone should look at it or does it have to be broken (not working) to figure out the problem. The individual in the office told me that the GE Profiles had board problems and that was probably the issue so he would send someone out. Two individuals appeared at my door with one not speaking any English (he was the actual technician) and the other with very broken English who was the interpreter for the other. My confidence level in their ability went down very fast as they looked confused and didn't really give me a comfort level that they knew what they were doing. They didn't really seem to know the basis features of my refrigerator nor how they worked. They fumbled around with the temperature controls and water/ice dispenser. I had to show them how to remove the sliding tray from the freezer unit (after they left, I discovered that they did not put it back correctly and I did so myself(it wasn't hard!!)). Then they made the observation that the freezer unit was blowing cold air and so it must be working properly. Needless, I was not pleased with that remark and repeated what had previously happened and that I had specifically asked the office if I should have someone look at it since it started working again. They also said that the problem was that the temperature was set wrong and so they changed those settings. I told them that we had not changed the temperatures when it stopped working and that I had tried the turbo freeze when it stopped working but that did not cool it down either. I also told them that if you turn the refrigerator until down too far, it will freeze the food in that unit. They seemed convinced that the temperature settings had something to do with malfunctioning freezer. By then I was done with them. They then gave me a nearly $500 quote for a new computer board and other parts but with no guarantee that they would fix my problem. After my experience with these two individuals, I would question if they would have the knowledge or skill to be able to properly install these parts.

Took Roger's more than a week to come out, order parts, locate parts (they said the additional delay and rescheduling was due to the parts being mis-delivered) and come back out to repair. Finally had a refrigerator that would cool but they completely forgot about the original problem, which resulted in yet another visit. They placed no value on my time and having to take off work to be there. They rescheduled a couple times. Won't use them again!!

They did good work. Glad they found the problem. I will call them again for sure!

I was pleased overall. I'd hire them again.

The only problem was they used the wrong phone number to set up appointment, and I didn't get the message in time. I don't know if the problem was theirs, or the way Angie's list gives them the information. They were very nice and accomodating, and the work was done very quickly and thoroughly. I would hire again.

Disaster. In all fairness I do not blame the man who came as he maintained hose clamp on washer was not a correct one & since I do not know I give him the benefit of the doubt. He was very polite and presented himself very professionally. However he maintained when he came there was no need to clean dryer vent (the reason I called in the first place) as the problem was the washing machine in my stackable unit and that he would check to see if it was spinning properly. He removed the back where the hoses were located and somehow dislodged a clamp on a hose. Water flooded the entire kitchen floor into the enterway. Long story short it took 2 hours using a wet vac & towels to clean up the mess & replace the clamp. Honestly don't know who was more "shook up"him or myself . When he offered to come another day to check machine &replace a belt on washer if needed I declined. Washer has worked fine since. I am out $75.00 & basically nothing was done for the reason I called in the first place.

Responded right away to my request for service. We're very nice and professional. Great price and dryer is running in less time than before.

Very well. Judging from the volume of lint stuck in the vent to the outside, previous owners must not have had vent cleaned in years. Mr. Rogers did a very complete job making sure all lint a as removed.

The technician came and said the issue was oil or some type of grease on the burners. But he found nothing wrong with each burner after heating them and running them for several minutes.

Excellent work, was late but called to inform

The technician was prompt, quickly identified the problem, was friendly, and advised me regarding how to prevent the problem from happening again. Luckily it didn't necessitate disassembling the agitator. All it cost was the Angie's price for the service call.

Great job and price. Very professional.

It was ok. I guess my biggest complaint with that is that the company said the initial service fee will apply towards the repair, and they didn't apply that. The total was $210 with the initial service fee and the repair fee. My biggest gripe was that their diagnostic fee was not applied to the repair.
