Kitchen Bath & Beyond

On Monday, January 3rd, I made an appointment to meet with Kitchen, Bath, & Beyond's designer in my home between 10 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5th. On Wednesday at 11 a.m. I left a message with their voice mail asking when the designer would arrive. Fifteen minutes later I left another message asking them to call me right away - I had to return to work, and wanted to save the designer the trip. Kitchen, Bath, & Beyond called at 5:40 p.m. and apologized for not making the appointment. The person who called said that one of their employees had an emergency in the family so they closed for the day. We decided not to do business with this company. We rate them as "Fair" for responsiveness - taking over six hours to return a call. We rate them as "Fair" for punctuality - missing the appointment without calling is mitigated by an employee's family emergency. Bottom line: I don't want to rely on a company that closes any time an employee has a family emergency - that suggests the company has a manpower bottleneck which could suspend my remodeling project without notice and without remediation. UPDATE: That the owner contacted us shows a level of customer focus that validates my sense that this company, despite the evidence of this particular incident, normally does a very good job. As I put in the "extended questions" portion of this review, I don't discourage other from using Kitchen, Bath, and Beyond - I just suggest that future clients build more flexibility in their renovation schedule than we are able to.

Karen,Zack, Danny and crew are true pros. Karen came out to the house and measured and took photos.She had great ideas of how to transform our 1980's kitchen into a modern marvel. The demo and contruction were done in the cleanest neatest way that I have ever seen. Great care was taken to make sure that as little mess was made as possible. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. The work was completed ahead of schedule and we could not be happier with our experience. Did we mention we LOVE our new kitchen! I now know what the "Beyond" in their name means. Danny fabricated the neatest outdoor granite shelf for us.

This wound up costing much more than we hoped, but we love the finished product. It is tempting to scrimp and economize on some items, such as a toilet (please don't; you will regret it). We love the new toilet, new Robern medicine cabinets (two), new Grohe faucets. They are so superior to what we had. But comparative shop for the items you purchase! Visit places like Fergusons (Tampa and Tarpon Springs) for ideas and check on-line sites that can save you money, such as www.kitchenbath.com. The workmanship was fine. They did not create any uncessary mess and always cleaned up before they left each day.

It was my intention to submit this report before now but work and family activities got me behind schedule. As noted in my February 2010 report on Kitchen, Bath and Beyond (KBB), my husband and I had already agreed for them to renovate our guest bathroom. Needless to say Karen and Danny Alonso and their KBB team continued to excel in professionalism and service delivery. Karen provides excellent design advice; if you follow her lead, you can never go wrong. Danny?s expertise about just general home construction was a wonderful learning experience for my husband. This job was also done with the least bit of intrusion, quickly, and professionally. Family and friends are amazed by the change; we have received nothing but wonderful compliments. This is an outstanding company; KBB will never let you down.

Work went great. Did great job in about 3 days. I would use them again.

Smooth...not a hitch. They put a lockbox on the door so they could come and go as necessary, stayed on schedule, showed up when they said they would and cleaned up (thouroughly) everyday. They even shampooed the carpets that saw heavy traffic from them coming and going. Very courteous and respectful.

Owners Danny & Karen Alonso are really true professionals. We entertained seven diffferent bids and presentations prior to selecting Kitchen Bath & Beyond. They were sincere, honest and professional from day one until the completion of the project. Karen is extremely talented in designing, color selections, and finding additional space for the project. Also is very kind with a sharp business mind. Dan is the maintenace guru that manages the project. This guy is multi talented with a great sense of humor, and has excellent leadership skills. They have a talented staff that is second to none. I am a 31 year HR professional and my spouse a 20 year educational provider and we can truely say that You can trust your home to this talented group. They will provide excellent customer service, quality products, clean/neat work, and fair pricing.

Reading the March edition of your magazine, I saw in the advertisement for Kitchen, Bath and Beyond (KBB) that the business received a 2009 Super Service Award, my husband and I were not surprised. In the fall of 2009, we began our search for someone to renovate our bathrooms; of course we consulted Angie?s List. From the moment we walked into KBB, we felt welcomed and appreciated. It was quite obvious that Karen Alonso loves what she does and takes pride in a quality product. In fact after visits to other businesses in the area, we immediately headed back to KBB. Karen and Danny came to our home to discuss what we wanted to be done. Pictures were taken and ideas shared. We visited the office to see the proposed design. Due to the upcoming holidays and other commitments, we signed a contract for work to begin February 1, 2010. Danny and Robert arrived on time. Karen had warned us things would be dusty so we moved into the guest bedroom. This was really not necessary. KBB are immaculate; they cleaned up every day. The master bath was completed in 3 weeks and it is beautiful. Karen and Danny Alonso and their employees are extremely professional and go above and beyond in serving their customer. They run a top notched organization ? USE THEM! In fact, they will be renovating our guest bathroom.

I talked with other kitchen cabinet and remodeling companies (at least three), but they were either unwilling to do a small job under $2500 or their pricing seemed to be quite high for what I needed. I contacted Kitchen Bath & Beyond because of favorable reports on Angie's list and they were local to my property in Tampa. Karen Alonso was my designer and contact. Even though my project was small, she was most helpful and accommodating with my request and order. From initial contact, measurement/review/ recommendations, providing written estimate, making appointments, following up through every step etc to final installation, Karen and the KBB team were very professional, courteous, met all schedules / deadlines and delivered a quality product at a reasonable price with an excellent customer experience. I actually enjoyed doing business with them. I would use them again and can enthusiastically recommend them to others. Point of note: My property in Tampa was being renovated and prepped for sale. The tearout, plumbing, prep and other follow-up work was done by a contractor doing other general fixit and improvement work around the house.

This company and every individual member of their team are consumate professionals. These are good people that really understand what customer care and service is all about. Karen and Danny listened and clarified our needs and offered multiple ideas and suggestions to provide us a result that is extremely pleasing. Their showroom is great and their pricing was very competitive. Of the four companies that we considered, they were clearly a cut above. Each member of their work team is very professional, detail oriented, and very thorough. They cleaned up along the way during each step of the removal and installation process, vacuuming the carpeted common hallway in our condo building and laying down protective padding in the elevator when they used it. As a final step, when the installation was complete, Danny actually got down on his hands and knees and washed the tile floorways leading from the work area out to the exit door of our condo unit. This company earns your business with their committment, attitude, followup, price and finished result.

Their service was satisfactory. The one thing that was a little bit upsetting was that they weren?t timely. They didn?t come out when they were supposed to come out and that was annoying because I had to be home when they showed up. My husband and I had tickets to go see a show on Friday night so we told them that they had to complete the work by 6 p.m. at the latest and they were here until 6:30 p.m. They told us if they couldn?t complete the job that day they couldn?t come back until 2 weeks later from now. So I thought it was a little disregard for our time. They were a little bit inflexible. We didn?t do a lot of competitive price shopping.

We encountered a leak in our kitchen which ruined our existing kitchen cabinets and countertops. We interviewed a few kitchen remodelers and were immediately impressed with first contact on the phone with Barbara and Karen of Kitchen, Bath and Beyond. Karen came over to discuss options in our kitchen and gave us some great ideas on how to make our kitchen more efficient. Karen measured and we made an appt at the showroom to view options in colors, etc... What pleased me the most is that Kitchen, Bath and Beyond was able to computer generate a picture of our future kitchen so that I could visualize the end product. Demolition of the kitchen cabinets revealed extensive mold damage. Kitchen, Bath and Beyond was able to remove all mold contaminated drywall and ventilate kitchen area for a competitive price. Ceramic tile was removed and porcelin tile was installed in a very professional and timely manner. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets, granite countertops, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, and plumbing were installed with a high degree of craftsmanship and the individuals providing the service were highly professional. This company is very reputable, trustworthy and I had no issue or concern about leaving our house key in their care. All work provided was completed way ahead of the agreed upon time. The contract stated a 5 week remodel, however, to our extreme satifaction the work was completed in just 3 weeks and within budget. I would highly recommend this company and plan to use this company again in the near future for upcoming projects.

Karen and Danny came for the estimate and gave good advice. I had already received 3 other estimates, but I liked their presentation and quality of goods the best. They cleaned up after their work and all was completed within the time period estimated.

Working with Kitchen Bath and Beyond was a great exprerience! Karen was patient and very helpful while guiding me through the design and estimate process. At one point I was stuck because I needed just one new cabinet and couldn't find an exact match with my existing cabinets. Karen came up with an innovative idea that worked out really well. We went with a slighter darker cabinet and then replaced another small cabinet so that the effect would be intentional. I love the way it turned out!!! Danny and his crew were wonderful: punctual and very clean. The work was completed on time and within budget and we love it!

Before choosing Kitchen Bath & Beyond we had researched many companies and hadn't found the quality, price and/or professionalism that Karen and Danny Alonso share with their team. Once we chose a cabinet style we liked, Karen and Danny met with us measured our kitchen, laundry room, & bathrooms, quoted the job and helped us design a living space that fit our lifestyle. The installation was done before the due-date promised. They worked well with us and our contractor and the work was outstanding. Their entire team was amazing. We love the end result!

Very professional. We're very impressed. There's nothing that we've worried about or second guessed. Everything they've said, done or recommended has come true. We're disciples now. Everything is very impressive. They explained things. They make you feel comfortable. We've recommended them to neighbors and co-workers. Everyone's really impressed with the work they've done and the price.

They are neat and clean. They are fun to work with. They are very personable. We are very tickled.
