"To respond to Mr. [member name removed] complaint, our technicians at Hawkins Service Company are highly trained in the Pentair products and repair of such equipment. We are required to attend classes that Pentair has each year that are designed to inform us of new and existing products and any repairs problem that we may experience in the field. We have been a premier Pentair warranty station for nearly 20 years and highly regarded in our industry as a reliable and honest company to deal with. I took the time to contact my Pentair representative and the manufacturers head of pool automation about the comment regarding us installing firmware versions which were incompatible for his pool automation system. Both stated that firmware incompatibility has not been an issue and to their knowledge it has never been an issue at this customer's system. The Pentair supplied serial adapter that allows the home owners home automation system to communicate with his pool automation has been swapped twice due to failures or inconsistencies pointed out by the customer. But again, no mention of incompatibility has ever been mentioned to us by the customer or the manufacturer Pentair. I have had several conversations with the customer regarding his Intellichem system in which we have replaced two sensor probes that had failed as well as the actual chem pump for the system and eventually we swapped out the entire system for the builder. Each time the parts were supplied by the manufacturer for these are not normal stocked items so there was a delay on the repair each time due to waiting on parts to arrive. The customer indeed has experienced a breaker tripping on his pump, however each time we have been out the pump is working and there are no normal signs of pump failure. We changed out the GFCI breaker on these occasions in case it is an intermittent problem in which happens when a technician is not there. A GFCI breaker monitors the amount of current flowing from hot to neutral. If there is any imbalance, it trips the circuit. It is able to sense a mismatch as small as 4 or 5 milliamps, and it can react as quickly as one-thirtieth of a second causing the breaker to trip. This is a safety feature added to swimming pool pumps recently that is now mandated by code requirements. Unfortunately, it is common for these breakers to trip due to power outages or surges which are quite frequent due to Florida's weather patterns. We are willing to provide our professional service to Mr. Bull for any and all of his issues with the equipment, but he has chosen to deal with Pentair direct. The times we have been at his home, he was pleasant on the phone with us and forthcoming with the issues at hand and we have addressed the issues each time we have been on his property. It is only later we find out he has contacted Pentair or the builder and stated he was not happy with our service. We at Hawkins Service Company pride ourselves on our knowledge of products but more so on our customer service. We did reach out to the customer and offered for us to come out with the manufacturer to hopefully instill confidence to him that we indeed are factory trained and qualified and who better to show that with would be the manufacturer, but he declined."
"We always strive to be on time or within the time period we have allotted for each call. However we do sometimes run behind and have systems in place to notify the customer and keep everyone informed of the situation. This is a case where operating procedure was not followed and communication was lacking, it has been addressed internally and are always looking for ways to prevent further instances. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and quality of service. We apologized for the error and took a percentage off of the service call to help compensate. This customer was upset about the price of the part needed to fix his equipment .While we did lower our service call price we're unable to sell the part any lower than what it was listed at as it was the lowest price we could sell it for."
"Hawkins Service Company contracted with (removed member name) pool builder to perform electrical for a new pool. We never charged (removed member name) as we work for the builder in this case. Hawkins Service Co. ran a circuit to the new pool equipment through the attic of this home. Code requires this circuit to be piped in conduit and strapped to the trusses along the route. Also because the main panel of this home is on an exterior concrete wall the electrical was run neatly down the side of the wall as there was no room behind the panel. This job was performed with good workmanship and to meet code. We are regretful that (removed member name) is not happy with the work, however to completely conceal the electrical in the attic and down the wall in the garage would have cost much more and is not what we were paid by the pool builder to do. We offered to do this but in this case since the pool builder does not pay for this we would have to charge (removed member name). Concerning the outlets by the pool, these were existing outlets that the electrical inspector requested be changed out to tamper proof per new codes."
