Have you ever had such a bad experience with a doctor that you fire them? I have to wonder if they have a clue why a patient has chosen to no longer give them their business. Because in reality that is what you do when you make that appointment. You can always just cancel the standing appointment indicating that you will reschedule at another time and politely leave it at that. But this time after two visits and being told conflicting information. Multiple calls to get a prescription refilled only to find when you go to the pharmacy that it hasn't been called , faxed, emailed, carrier pigeoned to the pharmacy. You get the picture. Having worked in a healthcare environment for 40 + years you pretty much know when it's time to move on. Our universities are pushing out a trove of doctors at a rate surpassing any other time in history. Sadly bed side manners and accountability is not a required part of the curriculum and the opportunity for improvement passes before the practice realizes it. It is a fact that for every positive experience we have we tell three people. For every negative experience we tell ten. And that was before the internet and social media. After multiple calls and being given information that did not hold up I called Florida Orthopedic Institutes Dr Michael Clare's office and cancelled my appointment siting the above and informed his admin that I would no longer be utilizing their services. That office along with much of the FOIs in the area are guilty of getting too big and lost that personal touch and accountability to the people that need them. This is not the first nor will it be the last.

They could not get me out of the place fast enough, they didn't bother to let my IV site stop bleeding. I got a huge black and blue on my hand and arm.

Dr Lowry is wonderful!

I am still under Dr Frankle's care. My recovery is a process to have full range motion. I am progressing very well and couldn't be more pleased.

I was told everything about the procedures.  The operation was done on time.  9 hours after the surgery I was walking.  I recommend Dr. Michael Miranda, he is the best.

Called to schedule - that was fine.  Got a call later advising me that my insurance had refused to cover the procedure, so I called to get details to have when I contacted my insurance provider.  Never did get anyone to talk to me about that, but I later received an estimate of my cost that said nothing about insurance denial.  Also got a call to expect packet in mail to complete prior to my procedure, but it never came.  Attempts to talk to the person who handled this were futile - eventually resorted to driving to sun city office to get someone to talk to me and make sure my procedure had not been cancelled.  The person at the desk confirmed my surgery date and sent an email to the person I had been trying to reach, and I finally got the packet the day prior to my procedure.  Surgery center was wonderful - I have no complaints about my treatment and people taking care of me.  Never met surgeon.  Called for follow up as advised and set appointment.  Got a robocall at night cancelling that appointment.  Called to reschedule, and was pushed back an additional two weeks - five weeks after procedure.  I need physical therapy, and have been in unrelenting pain since the second week of recovery, so I felt that five weeks was far too long.  I told the person on the phone that I was in constant pain and I was advised to go to a walk in clinic.  I scheduled the appointment, but I'm done.  I made an appointment with my primary and will see her  the day before my original follow-up.  Hopefully she can help me get the physical therapy I need and another orthopedic specialist.  I intend to fire them.

I like the care that they give. I don't like the long wait.

I saw Dr. Gasser for a persistent shoulder issue. He attempted a few treatments prior to recommending surgery. Through surgery he found a large spur, which once removed, immediately provided me relief. He was a pleasure to work with, and I would see his counsel again with any orthopedic issue.
