Many people ask me for recommendations when remodeling their homes because I have used just about all of the trades over the last 10+ years for 4 homes. Most of the experiences are positive and I definitely have some Go-to people. However, our experience over the past year with FAS Doors and Windows was anything but positive. Install issues, excessive damage beyond what was expected, mis-scheduling, lack of oversight, and inappropriate responses and almost a year to get 28 windows installed leads me to warn others. Buyer Beware!!!!!!!

Not the cheapest estimate I got but I now know I made the right decision. FAS was the third company to give me an estimate. I had already done quite a bit of research and was looking out for key things and had questions. I did not expect to make the decision when Dan, the sales rep was here but I was very impressed with his answers and knowledge so I signed the contract that day. I had also seen that they had overall good ratings on all of the major websites. The next step was Jason, the lead installer to come make final measurements and place the order for my windows. From the time I signed the contract to the time the windows were installed it was just under 2 months. During that time Laura and Elizabeth in the office kept in touch and when the windows came in, scheduled the installation. Keeping with my experience thus far, the installation crew showed up right on time as promised. Greco, Rafael and Victor could not have been more professional and courteous and helped to make what I thought would be a very stressful day, a pleasant experience. They completely cleaned up everything, put everything back exactly as it was and even rehung the curtains and blinds. The windows look amazing. I highly recommend FAS Windows and Doors and the CWS hurricane windows they installed. They were not the cheapest but they were also not the most expensive. Don't always just go with the least expensive. I'm sure glad I didn't.

FAS Windows and Doors recently installed 12 windows and 3 doors in our home and did a wonderful job! The product is top notch and the installation was very well done! Products and installation took a little longer due to the demand of Hurricane Irma, but the quality of the windows and installation is superior. I would definitely recommend them.

My experience was very disappointing. We had two sets of doors (4 panels per)...installed for $16,000. They were to be inspected by the City of Gulfport before being sealed (clearly stated in the instructions). But they sealed them to where the inspector couldn't see how they were installed. Turns out, they failed the inspection, and had to replace all the screws. But now, the molding around looks like crap (because they used the same molding). And then the screens weren't the right size. After months of waiting, we still don't have the screens. I will not recommend them.

When we placed your door order with the manufacturer we also ordered the same size screens to properly fit. Unfortunately, when the doors were installed we determined at that time the screens were the wrong size. When we reordered the screens our service technician wrote it up as 75 7/8 but it came in at 76 1/2. We reordered again, and they arrived wrong from the manufacturer. We can certainly understand your frustration and want nothing more than to complete your project to your satisfaction. It's never an easy situation when products arrive wrong from the manufacture because the turnaround time is never quick enough. We appreciate your patience and look forward to coming out on 5/15 to finish up your project. Mr. [Member Name Removed], We have installers that are certified to do work in dozens of municipalities from Central Florida to Tampa. There are different rules for most. Some municipalities want fasteners exposed and some do not require it. Gulfport has different guidelines and you aren't allowed to even caulk a window on the inside of the home until its inspected. Gulfport is the only municipality that requires this. Once this was brought to our attention we came back out and remedied the situation. An oversight was made and we understand your frustration. We will complete your project to your satisfaction. We appreciate your understanding and patience."

The price was a couple thousand lower than the contractor I went with but I received detailed dimensions and drawings of windows I would be receiving. I did not get a detailed estimate (just a price for cash/credit card or credit so was a little uncomfortable with what I was receiving. I was having two sliding doors replaced with windows and the other company could do in one continuous piece for each door and wasn't able to get that with FAS. Otherwise I was very satisfied with the experience.

Fter several missed calls and reschedules, salesman agreed to meet me at FAS show room on a Saturday after I go done with work. He was a no-show. Calls went unanswered to the Saleman, even though 2 hours earlier, the central scheduling person said he would be there. I lost time waiting for this irresponsible salesman; he lost a $3500 sale

The bedroom windows were done beautifully, with no complications. The front window was installed by a subcontractor, and initially did not pass inspection. There were not enough screws (or anchors) to meet current hurricane code. The FAS owner sent his own men to correct the error very quickly, which subsequently passed inspection. The workmen were very professional, polite, and did a beautiful job! FAS response to our needs was impressive.

I met at a home show, and was interested in replacing my windows and doors in a home I just purchased. I liked them so made an appointment. They emailed me a reminder and I confirmed appointment. The salesman Dan did not show up for the appointment, or call to reschedule. I texted him telling him he was a half hour late and asking how much later he was going to be. His response was “ I can have the office call you back to reschedule” Not I’m so sorry, or something came up, just simply offered to reschedule. When I said no thank you his response was “ok”. I don’t understand that if the company is working SO HARD to work a home show, why they would be so cavalier as to blow me off without a care.

"Thank you for your feedback. We wish there was a better solution for your handle issue. We've had our service technicians out to look at the door to make sure it operates properly and it does. We reached out to the manufacturer about your issue and unfortunately the manufacturer sells one style of handle for this door. This door is the most popular sliding door we offer and we haven't heard of this issue before. We have offered to replace the panel with a recessed handle and that was not a suitable option. We wish there were more we could do to make you 100% satisfied."

Choosing a window and an installer turned out to be a much more challenging task than I anticipated. I learned there are some sales people out there that will take advantage of a buyer's ignorance and trust. FAS is not one of them.
Dan came out to my house with (very short notice) and gave me a fair, honest, and great quote for some nice Simonton windows and door. My advice to anyone in the market would be to have FAS on the short list of folks to talk to. They won't waste your time like some other companies I met with.
